Where’s My Mummy-book review

Halloween is right around the corner so I collected all the themed books so I can read them to the kids and get them into the fall and trick or treating spirit. I was recently sent a new book, Where’s My Mummy by Carolyn Crimi.

This is a sweet story about a little mummy who doesn’t want to go to bed so instead decides to play one more game of hide and shriek with his Mummy. Baby Mummy winds up getting lost instead and is told by not so scary Halloween-y characters such as Bones and Drac to just go to bed. It isn’t until a mouse peeks out from a tree that baby Mummy gets scared but his Mummy is right there to comfort him.

The story is well written and perfect for reading aloud with phrases like Clank Clink Clank and Tromp Tromp Tromp. The illustrations are eye-catching and inviting and colorful thanks to John Manders. This book is recommended for ages 4-8 but Shae sat and listened just as easily as Shaun. Any child who loves books and stories is going to love this one. Halloween is quickly approaching purchase your own copy at Barnes & Noble or other local bookstores for approximately $8.

Dad’s Perspective: This is a cute book that I like to read to Shae because she likes to hide and jump out and say “Boo”. This is her new thing then she says “Boo Me Daddy” to get me to jump out and scare her. This book is a fun read.
