Father’s Day is time for #RealDadMoments + giveaway

I have this totally obnoxious video of Shae at age 2 running aroung the house shrieking “My Daddy My Daddy My Daddy My Daddy”. It’s something she would do then walk calmly over to Rob to give him a hug and a kiss. It’s a video I watch pretty often because it’s cute to see the love exchanged between the two of them. With Father’s Day coming up in a few short days I watching those videos, gathering up the pictures of Rob and the kids and remembering moments of the kids loving on him hard, #realdadmoments.

The media doesn’t seem to see dads this way. The commercials and horrible “talk shows” portray dads as deadbeats, disconnected from family life and fumbling through life with children. That isn’t the case in our home. Our family works, eats and lives together as a unit not pieces to a mixed-up puzzle.

Dove Men+Care is committed to portraying how real men care, the short film below spotlights the expanding and often unrecognized ways dads care for their children featuring #RealDadMoments between children and their fathers, most of which are regrettably absent from media depictions of dads today. This short film is grounded in NEW research from Dove Men+Care, finding that three quarters of dads say they are responsible for their child’s emotional well-being, while only 20% of dads see this role reflected in media.

Say #ThanksBaby this Mother’s Day and Giveaway

Every day I’m reminded of how important being a mother is. It’s not only the faces of my sleeping kids, their arms reaching out to me or their foreheads pressed on my lips. I glance up at the photos of their births and other milestones. I wear jewelry that commemorates moment they’ve impacted my life.

To each of my children I want to give you the strength to be a great person in whatever path you choose to live your life. The road ahead is bumpy and full of many turns. You’ll be faced with decisions that don’t seem fair. Lean on each other for guidance and inspiration.
