Gallery Direct Photo to Canvas Upload

We got the chance to continue our Blogger Ambassador-ship with Gallery Direct for 2012. One of the first things we got to do for the New Year was re-visit their custom photo upload, photo to canvas feature. In case you don’t remember from last Father’s Day I ordered this awesome canvas of Rob and the kids. It’s one of my favorite pictures of them; it’s from our Carnival Cruise Family Vacation of 2010.

This time around I wanted to do something a bit more special and sentimental. Since I’m usually the one behind the camera there aren’t many pictures of Rob and I that actually look good. We lucked out this past Thanksgiving and Sabreena was able to snag this gem; never mind it was 1 out of 32. I knew it had to be displayed. I had it printed as a 5X7 photo and it sits in a frame on the bookshelf but I knew it needed something grander. Now it’s printed on canvas and sits at the top of the steps on the 3rd floor.

This time I had it done in black and white, I like the effect it brings to this mostly candid shot. Gallery Direct hasn’t let me down yet. Our house has never looked so put together. I didn’t realize how much warmer and lived in a home could feel with art and larger scale photo up in the wall.

Don’t forget that your prints aren’t limited to traditional art or photos. Gallery Direct has a HUGE selection of stock images in their Photo Vault to choose from. If you have a specific theme or want to commemorate a special place make sure to search for the image that best shows it off. Remember though there is no better way to display your best memories than with a personal, custom Photo Upload.

Spittin’ Image

The other day Rob and I were discussing his trip to Chicago and the fact that he doesn’t own a winter hat. While we were one the phone i did a quick Google Search of “mens winter hats” and the very first image I clicked on was an Elmer Fudd style hat but the sketch model wearing it was a spitting image of Rob’s dad. I instantly went into hysterics because not only can I see “Chip” wearing this hat I know he owns a few since he’s a hunter.

I sent the link to Rob and he said I wasn’t nice but he said I was correct, it looked just like his dad.
I hope “Chip” got some royalties for using his likeness 🙂

Keeping Babies Snug and Dry with Huggies Giveaway

You might think we are out of the diaper changing stage BUT I take care of my niece Madi each day and my other niece Ella once in a while. In fact Ella was here the other night meeting @OurDogSam and hanging out while her parents were doing something.

Ella is almost 2 and like most toddlers very active. Using diapers that fit and move against twisting and turning bellies and legs is a must. I recently gave Ella (my sister-in-law) the opportunity to try out the new Huggies Snug and Dry diaper with Leak Lock®. The diaper features even more absorbency with Absorb-away layers and long-lasting core, SnugFit waistband and Grip Tabs for a secure fit and stopping guards around the legs and waist.

The update from Ella’s parents are good. The diapers worked to contained leaks and blowouts. Huggies are already the diaper of choice for this family so there isn’t much convincing to keep using Huggies Snug and Dry. Buy them for yourself at Walmart and other major retailers.

Win your own Huggies Snug and Dry diapers with Leak Lock®( coupon valued at $24) from LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Tell me what brand of diapers are/were your favorites.

project 52, weekly photos

This week was crazy hectic. My “job” is a daycare provider to my niece Madi. You’ve seen her here many times. But this week I had BOTH 18 month old nieces, Madi and Ella. What a handful but it was a lot of fun. They were so good together.

Roxio Creator 2011 Giveaway

Melinda and I are currently using a photo editing software program that is 7 years old so we were excited when we received a copy of Roxio Creator 2011 with 3D for review.

Roxio Creator 2011 with 3D will do everything from burning a CD to creating 3D photos from a 2D image. To me that is pretty cool because that is one of many things that our 7 year old software can’t do. Melinda does most of the photo work but my job is the movies. I have a Flip and Camcorder that I use constantly and have started using Roxio to do my video editing. You are given a few different edit options where you can quickly add music to scenes or you can create movies with custom sounds tracks, titles, transitions and effects.

Another cool feature of Roxio Creator 2011 is the Learning Center. If you are new to burning cd’s/dvd’s, creating 3D movies or just need a few basic pointers this is a great resource. When you are in the Learning Center you can click on the individual tab that you need help with and open it up in a PDF document that will show you step by step directions with photos.

Roxio Creator 2011 is going to be our new go to program for everything like burning DVD’s as well as for video and photo editing. The first step is to learn everything that Roxio has to offer which is going to take time; at least for me anyway. Melinda was able to play around and made a few pretty funny pictures in a few minutes.

For all of you tech junkies out there here are Roxio Creator 2011 New Feature Highlights:

  • Personal 3D Made Easy
  • 3D capture from stereoscopic cameras (such as the Fuji W1)
  • Import 3D files in common 3D formats, including side-by-side, over-under, anaglyph, and dual stream. In addition, Roxio Creator 2011 supports all standard 2D photo and video file formats.
  • Simplified Storyline, as well as advanced 32-track Timeline 3D editing views and preview
  • Full range of 3D editing options including trimming, title creation, narration, music tracks, and video correction features
  • 3D-like transitions and special effects
  • 2D to 3D real-time video conversion
  • 2D to 3D photo conversion
  • Authoring of 3D-enabled DVDs and Blu-ray Discs
  • Save 3D video in a range of file formats (including RealD Format for a cinematic-quality personal home 3D experience)
  • Direct upload of 3D video to YouTube™

Suite Enhancements

  • Instant access to personal media content on your PC via the Internet and from a broad range of connected devices
  • New iPad device support and easy publishing to Facebook
  • Edit movies and create DVDs and Blu-ray Discs; now includes new video stabilization and video rotation tools.
  • Additional project templates for instantly creating personalized DVDs, high-resolution calendars, cards, and more.
  • New additions to built-in Learning Center with direct access to dozens of video tutorials and printable step-by-step instructions for quick help when needed
  • Support for iCore7 and iCore9 processors, ATI Stream, and NVIDIA CUDA technologies to reduce rendering and encoding times

Roxio Creator 2011 expands Sonic’s Total 3D initiative aimed at furthering 3D personal media enjoyment as well as premium entertainment consumption in the home. Roxio plans to continue to introduce additional 3D-enabled products and services throughout the year targeted to consumers, PC OEMs, consumer electronics manufacturers, and retailers.

No matter what your expertise Roxio is definitely something you should be using.

Here is your chance to win your own copy of Roxio Creator 2011 with 3D.  Head over to Roxio and tell me what feature about the software you think you would use most.
