This is a sponsored post. All opinions are our own.

As parent’s we diligent about protecting our children from illness, predators and dangers. We have conversations about being safe crossing the street and petting stranger’s dog. But what about the dangers that we can’t see, the ones that we can’t forsee.

Carbon monoxide is the leading cause of intentional poisoning deaths in the U.S. The U.S. Census claims that while 75% of all homes have a potential source of carbon monoxide – like a water heater, fireplace, furnace, generator or any other fuel-burning appliance – only half of U.S. homes have a working CO alarm.
Carbon Monoxide Stats
Kidde is a leader in the manufacturing of fire safety products. Their mission is to provide families with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves from the dangers associated with fire and carbon monoxide.

I remember as a child spending the night in a hotel room with my parents. At the time I thought it was the coolest night, kinda like a fancy sleepover. I only realized later on that there had been a carbon monoxide leak. The days leading up to the sleepover were filled with headaches and feelings of nausea. The problem was fixed and we were back home quickly. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and tasteless making it a silent killer. The only way to truly protect your family is with a detector.

Kidde is introducing the their new Worry Free Carbon Monoxide Alarm. The sealed lithium battery is tamper proof and provides 10 years of continuous power, meaning no low battery chirps or battery replacement. Being the longest sensor life available this carbon monoxide sensor is proven effective for 10 years, nearly twice as long as some other models. This means no batteries to buy and replace every six months, saving your money.

We have a carbon monoxide detector, but it’s in the package. I need to get hubs to put it up. Thanks for the virtual smack! 😉

  3. Great review! We had one in our home growing up. It seems to be a crazy silent nightmare for some.

  4. We live in an older house and last year we had an issue with our heater in the middle of the night – everything was fine, we were never exposed to any danger, but it got me thinking. We went out the NEXT DAY and replaced all our smoke detectors with new ones and added a carbon monoxide detector as well!

  8. So important. It’s a silent killer and I know I have one sitting in the package but uninstalled– thanks for the reminder.
