Crumpler Bags introduces Baby Anchovy

Every girl loves a great bag. That doesn’t always mean a handbag though. Crumpler Bags are different that the original design was a durable bike messenger bag used in Melbourne Australia. Superior construction, reinforced stitching, rugged durability, padded shoulder straps and colorful are the words and phrases I use to describe the entire Crumpler line.

They recently introduced a kids line which include 2 bags, Baby Pea and Baby Anchovy. Shae received Baby Anchovy a couple weeks ago to try out. Here is her product review of it:

As you can see Shae’s new Baby Anchovy bag is a unique change to her girly and dainty bags she’s been using. She is able to take Baby Anchovy to the library and load it up or take it to the grandparents with a day’s worth of gear.
I got the chance to try out Dreadful Embarrassment, a messenger laptop bag that retails $105.00 USD. Here is my video review showing you exactly how much room is available.

I’m beyond pleased with our Crumpler Bag experiences. Whatever your need; photography, school, travel, leisure or active-lifestyle find a bag that is not only perfect but will last many many years.  Shop online or Custom bag shop in New York City

Tom and Jerry Tales: The Complete First Season

I remember watching Tom and Jerry when I was a kid now my 7 year old son loves to watch Tom and Jerry. We received a copy of Tom and Jerry Tale:The Complete First Season and he has been watching it non stop.

Who doesn’t love a good cat and mouse fight? LOL. I love the fact that Jerry always out smarts Tom no matter what the situation. What I find hard to believe is that after 30 years Tom still hasn’t figured out how to beat Jerry. Maybe I am reading too much into this but I would have though that Tom would have succeeded in catching Jerry by now.

I know when my son is watching Tom and Jerry Tales because all I hear from his bedroom is non-stop laughing. I must admit Tom and Jerry is a good laugh. If you are having a bad day watching Tom and Jerry will make you feel better because Tom always has bad days. My son loves when me and him sit down to watch Tom and Jerry. It brings back memories of my childhood and I am really happy to be sharing this experience with my son. Maybe when my son is a dad and has kids we can all sit down together and watch Tom and Jerry together. Tom and Jerry is an American Classic.

One Stop Shopping For Our Impending Move

As some of you might already know we are moving back to Delaware in June and we are pretty excited. In preparation for our move we are in the process of selling a few things so we can buy a few new things for our new place. Melinda and I are looking for a new TV stand, printer storage unit and bookshelf if possible.

We started looking to see where we could get the best prices and selection and are even started searching the web. We can across CSN Stores which has everything from recessed lighting to lamps to cookware to outdoor furniture.

CSN Stores a $200 million company, is comprised of more than 200 different shopping sites under the overall csnstores.com umbrella. Most sites are named for their primary product offerings or the styles they provide. These include: Luggage.com, AllModern.com, WritingDesksAndMore.com, Cookware.com, and BedroomFurniture.com.

I was really surprised about the huge selection that CSN Stores offers which is good for us because now all we have to do is go to one site and can shop over 200 different stores. How easy and convenient is that? If in the market for recessed lighting, luggage, or cookware be sure to stop by CSN Stores and I am sure they will have what you are looking for.

Droid and Palm Pixi Plus from Verizon

We were given the opportunity to review 2 Verizon Wireless smartphones we had been eyeing for some time.

Palm Pixi Plus analysed by Melinda
I love my Blackberry, you all know that but I was very interested in the Palm Pixi Plus. You see I used to have a Palm Pilot(well actually still have it in a drawer) and loved it. It was a great organization tool, keeper of notes, meal planner and calendar wizard. I figured the Palm Pixi Plus would be just as good with the added bonuses of a phone and computer rolled into one.
I first fell in love with its sleek compact design. It was super skinny, I could slide it into any pocket. I kinda liked the touch screen but found it to be a little finicky at times; the response time was at times sluggish or just non-existant. Apps aren’t really of interest to me except for Facebook and Twitter so I don’t have an opinion on them. I did like the ability to keep multiple windows open at the same time just sliding them over like a stack of papers and tossing them away when done. The picture quality was really good too, better than what I have. I also love YouTube but definitely didn’t use it enough to really appreciate that it was at my fingertips at any moment.
The keyboard wasn’t my favorite, too tight and with any length of nails that just made it harder to type. Also the auto-close USB flap was enough to make me throw it; I needed 3 hands to plug it in. Probably more of a learning curve I wasn’t entirely digging the messaging system, it felt cluttered to me. I also found myself handing up on phone calls, my face was pressing the touch screen, I have fat cheeks I guess.
Here is a rundown of key features:

  • Full QWERTY touchscreen
  • Display: 2.63-inch 320×400
  • Battery: 5 hours talk time | 350 hours stand-by
  • 8G Flash/256 RAM
  • 2 Megapixel Camera with Flash
  • Music: MP3, WAV, AAC/AAC+
  • Video: MPEG4, H.263, H.264
  • 3G Mobile Hot Spot
  • Bluetooth capable
  • Gesture Area-enable simple intuitive gestures for navigation
  • Weight 3.26oz

All in all if I had the Palm Pixi Pre as my first smartphone I would be entirely pleased.

Droid analysed by Rob
I got the chance to review the Droid by Motorola which was great because this is the phone I have been wanting to replace my Blackberry every since the Droid came out. The first thing you have to do to setup the Driod is sign up for a Google Email Account (Gmail) if you do not have one already. This was a pretty simple step then you need to set up your email accounts and that is pretty much all of the setup that is needed.

Now is where the fun begins on what apps you are going to download first via the Android Market. I enjoyed using the Android Market because it was broken down into a Top Free and Top Paid category which is nice so you can see what is available. I tend to be a little on the cheap side when it comes to apps so I used the Top Free section quite often. I only downloaded a few apps like The Weather Channel, Four Square and Twitter Droid because to me Twitter is a necessity on my cell phone. Downloading and installation were simple and pretty efficient. The Droid also is WiFi capable which would make downloading apps way faster then using the 3G network but after countless hours I was unable to get the WiFi feature to work. Not sure if it was me or the phone but WiFi is pretty simple to setup so I have to assume it wasn’t me. Texting and using Twitter were a big challenge for me over my Blackberry due to the fact that the Driod’s keyboard is wider then the Blackberries. After a few days I did get use to the keyboard but prefer the keyboard setup on the Blackberry much better. The Droid’s battery life was pretty standard and would last a full day even with my playing with it for a lot of the day. All in all the Droid is a great phone and has a ton of great features that I think many people would find useful and beneficial to their daily lives. I must admit that I didn’t test every single feature and ability of the phone but below are listed some additional details and features of the Droid:

Design

  • World’s Thinnest QWERTY Slider
  • 3.7″ Touch Screen 480×854 WVGA display — supports up to 16M colors

Verdi Spumante Is The Perfect Gift For Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I hope you are looking for that perfect gift for mom. So if you haven’t thought about what you’re going to do, now is the time to start thinking about how to make it special. Diamonds? Sure, but in this economy, probably not realistic. Brunch? Perhaps, but it’s been done. Champagne? On the right track, as long as it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for the label.

With everything going on, the best gift may be something small that brings the family and loved ones together. One perfect way to celebrate this year is to give your favorite mother a toast with a bit of Italian Sparkling Fun – or a Verdi Spumante. This is a sparkling Italian wine that makes it fun and tasty to commemorate mothers – without the expense of a French champagne. You can use it to either tip back a glass or make a sweet dessert dish with your favorite mother. Either way you go, it’s probably the best way to share a bit of Sparkling Italian Fun with the Mom you love.

Best of all, because Verdi Spumante comes in small bottles that can be personalized with a hang-tag, it also makes a great and easy present that shows you care.

Below are two great Verdi recipes to make for mother’s day:

Verdi Mimosa Recipe

• Verdi (1 bottle)

• Orange Juice (1 carton)

Mixing Instructions:

Fill half of a champagne flute with chilled Verdi and top off with chilled orange juice, gently stir. For added flare, slice up a strawberry to decorate the rim of each flute. Enjoy!

Zabaglione (Shown Above)

• 1 cup Verdi

• ¾ cup powdered sugar

• 5 large egg yolks

• 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

• 6 tablespoons chilled whipping cream

Fruit Compote

• 2 large oranges

• ½ small pineapple, peeled, cored [or 1 can of pineapple, drained]

• 1 basket strawberries, hulled, quartered

• 2 kiwis, peeled and diced

• 1 pear, peeled, cored, and diced

• 6 tablespoons chilled Verdi

• 6 whole strawberries

Mix the Zabaglione

Whisk Verdi, sugar, yolks and corn syrup in large metal bowl to blend them together. Set the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, but do not allow the bottom of the bowl to touch the water. Now the fun part – whisk the zabaglione mixture constantly until it has tripled in volume and thickens into a sauce [a candy thermometer should register 160°F]. This should take about 10 minutes. Remove from over water. Now, beat the zabaglione until it is completely cool, or about 5 minutes.

Beat cream to soft peaks in medium bowl. Fold cream into cooled zabaglione. Chill until ready to use.

Combine the fruit compote:

Mix all of the fruit into a bowl with the chilled Verdi and allow it to marinate.

Serve :

Spoon the fruit into 6 stemmed glasses. Top fruit with zabaglione, and garnish each serving with whole one of the strawberries and 1 tablespoon of the reserved fruit juice and Verdi.

Aeropostale Clothing Recap

I’ve been spending the last couple weeks taking Sabreena summer clothes shopping. She has a couple fave stores, Aeropostale being one of them. She loves their Chelsea bootcut jeans and always grabs their tees. This winter she latched onto a pretty gray zip up sweater and wore it with everything. Aeropostale’s style is youthful without being kiddie or over the top trendy.

We shopped a couple weeks ago during the I Half to Have it sale. She loaded up on shorts, cute tees and an adorable halter tank. We also received a great assortment of clothing for analysis. The boxer jammies make an appearance each time they go through the laundry cycle.
Did you know Aeropostale has a store for younger kids called P.S. from Aeropostale? I didn’t. Unfortunately I don’t have an actual store anywhere near me but I’m able to shop online for clothes for Shaun too that have the same fashion sense while remaining innocent looking for the 7-12 age group. Shaun received a great new green hoodie and has decided this pickle guy tee is his favorite, EVAH!!!!

More check-ins at Aeropostale

Aeropostale does good for the community too. They recently wrapped up their annual “Teens for Jeans” campaign where they collected over 525,000 pairs of jeans for homeless teens across the US, Canada and Haiti.
WIN a $25 Gift Card to shop Aeropostale or a $25 Gift Card to shop P.S. by Aeropostale in store or online. Visit either store and tell me which Gift Card you’d rather win. This contest will have 2 winners, 1 for each card.

Shop for the handbag you really want at Baghaus

New seasons bring new styles from shoes to jewelry and especially to handbags. Baghaus is a leading shopping site for trendy handbags, wallets, organizers and more. With selections ranging in price from $10 to $400 there is a tote, slouch, duffel or clutch for every budget. Baghaus also offers FREE SHIPPING for orders over $50.

I was sent a Vieta Gisele Hobo for review. I picked Grey, I felt it was a great neutral for spring. The bag is HUGE. It easily holds my wallet, business card holder, phone, magazine, files, personal things and tons more. I could probably fit my laptop in there if I took out the magazine, notebook and file folder.  The synthetic leather has a nice look and soft feel and I’m very pleased with the silver hardware. I’m finding it hard these days to find handbags with silver toned accessories; brass and gold seem to be the trend but that’s just not my style.  This bag is coming with me to California next week.

Find handbags plucked right from the celebrity magazines and stylists hands. See the many appearances of Baghaus in publications like Cosmo and Seventeen. Baghaus has their hands in all the latest trends and brings those styles and designs to women in every color, size and shape. With guaranteed delivery and 30-day hassle free returns buying from Baghaus is convenient and entirely risk free.
