Teeth To The Face

So while I was cutting the grass in the back yard at about 5pm last night I hear crying so I turn off the lawn mower and see my son running with blood running down his face and his shirt covered in blood.

I tried not to freak out but grabbed his shirt and applied pressure to where the cuts were on his face. When I asked the kids what happened they said my son and girl who were playing tag collided and two of her teeth slammed into my sons face. So I yell for Melinda to take Shaun and I called the doctor to see where we should take my son. After 3 calls to the doctors office (each time they transferred me the hold time was 12-15 minutes – because I have 12 minutes to wait while my son is bleeding) we found out where we needed to go so we hoped in the car and drove to the outpatient center. So the whole time we are driving to the outpatient center my son is saying “I hope I do not need stitches”. He was pretty scared and freaked out about it hurting really bad even though the last time he had stitches he was about 18 months and doesn’t even remember.

Once we arrived the nurse and doctor were great and calmed my son down until they needed to numb his face which meant multiple needles in his face. Needless to say he FREAKED and CRIED loud as hell. I was so freaked out I needed to leave the room while my wife stayed with my son. I know I am a huge wuss but I do not like to see my kids in any sort of pain. All in all my son did awesome and needed 2 stitches, one in each cut to hold it closed. Since he did so well we told him he could get a treat and he chose Burger King since we eat their like once a year.

We need to take him back in 7 days to get the stitches removed and he is already panicking about the pain. We will keep everyone posted.
