I’m not Jewish so when I was sent a sneak peek CD of Chanukah Fever I wasn’t sure if it was something I would enjoy let alone understand the humor. I do have a Jewish friend though so I gave it to her. She came back that day and said it was great; it had her laughing all the way to work. The different styles of music made it entertaining with songs like The Funky Gold Menorah.
THE MAMA DONI BAND came away with one of the top prizes at the 2008 International Jewish Music Festival, held in Amsterdam, competing against more than 100 ensembles from 15 countries. At the Festival’s invitation, they will return to Amsterdam to perform and lead workshops in October 2009.
