It was cold here in Maryland this weekend so we did some Christmas decorating and got into the spirit of the upcoming holiday season.
The kids were really excited to put the tree up and decorate it with all of the ornaments. What was really cool was this year was Shae’s first tree decorating experience where she was able to be involved and help out by putting ornaments on the tree. Granted all of the ornaments that Shae did were low on the tree so we had to do some rearranging but she put them on herself and that was really cool.
Sabreena and Shaun are pros at the decorating thing so we let them do their thing and put on ornaments unsupervised. As always they did a great job and the tree looks awesome. Melinda and I did the rest of the decorating since a lot of our other decoration are fragile plus I think the kids were decorated out after the tree.
What is really cool is the fact that we have an artificial tree so it makes putting it up early so easy. There is no worry about the tree dying, needles falling off or watering it daily. I also like our artificial tree for the fact that we are saving a tree each year from being cut down (well, that is what I tell myself at least). We have had our tree for about 5 years so I have saved 5 trees from being wasted.
So we are ready for Christmas and Santa and the house looks festive which puts me in a great mood. I love looking at the tree all lit up and the house all decorated. I am glad we decorated this weekend and I know the kids are too.
