Where Did All of the Eggos Go?

By now I am sure all of the US and the world for that matter saw on CNN yesterday the article about how Kellogg’s will be rationing eggo waffles possibly until the middle of 2010. This is all due to flooding at an Atlanta bakery plus equipment at Kellogg’s largest waffle facility, based in Rossville, Tenn., needs extensive repairs. Seriously? WTF!!

My kids are going to starve. Literally. My kids eat waffles so much we buy eggos by the case at our local warehouse club BJ’s. They come like 60-70 waffles (not sure of the exact number) in a case. We sometimes have to go to BJ’s 1-2 times a month just for waffles. I hope on our next visit they still sell them by the case or else my kids are going to be royally screwed.

How does a company like Kellogg’s not have a contingence plan for something like this? So they make all of their waffles at two places only with no other options. I guess not or else this wouldn’t have been the news headline of the day yesterday.

That raises another question. Is there no other news in the world more important than a waffle shortage? I have to believe there is so why was this on the top of the headlines. I need to call CNN and get to the bottom of this question because it’s sort of bothering me.

Well I guess we have to wait and see what happens with Eggo waffles but I hope this gets fixed soon or I might be minus a kid or two.
