Do you recognize the symbol here? It lights up in your instrument panel and looks like a U-shaped pictograph with treads and an exclamation point in the middle.
We have this on our instrument panel in our 2005 Ford Freestar and when I first saw it I needed to look in the owner’s manual to see what it was.
Still don’t know? Ok I’ll tell you it is a low tire pressure warning light and lights up when one or more of your vehicles tires is 25% below the manufacture’s recommended pressure. If you didn’t know what that picture meant don’t feel bad because one out of three drives doesn’t know. Reading an article yesterday they said this warning light was suppose to be “idiot proof” yet 46% of drivers couldn’t figure out that the icon represents a tire and 14% thought the symbol represented another problem with the vehicle entirely.
So be honest here, did you know what the symbol meant?
