Bumps and Hurdles and the Way to Unclog Your Day – Giveaway

UnClog Ur Day $1000 Contest courtesy of Drano

For some families summer means vacations, relaxing by the pool, playing a bingo game and sleeping in. However, things are different at our house. We get up and go and yes we have vacations and pool time. We also have camp, day trips, gardening, festivals and more. This is the way we love to live our lives. However, sometimes things do not go smoothly. Life throws in some bumps and hurdles to slow you down.

We’ve all been there. It’s time to get out of the house and the kids are fighting, the phone is ringing and the dishwasher is leaking on the kitchen floor. Whether this is the exact scenario or you switch out the kids for the cats, all families struggle with road blocks at any given time. These moments don’t need to stop us in our tracks. Families need to learn to use the tools we have to get over the bumps and hurdles and keep our days and lives going.

This is where a tool like Drano® Snake Plus comes in. Drano® Snake Plus is a brand new, innovative product that resolves the toughest clogs the first time, guaranteed or it’s free!* Drano® Snake Plus combines a flexible, easy-to-use 18-inch tool with a powerful pro concentrate gel, the thickest and most powerful gel from Drano® that clings directly to the clog, quickly dissolving it. The advanced nature of the tool and gel combo will help families avoid wasting time and money on unplanned trips to the store and visits from the plumber.

Our family is excited to partner with SC Johnson and talk about how we unclog our days to keep our lives running as smoothly as possible. Every couple of weeks we’ll share a new method we use to stay on course, keep organized and remain sane. Feel free to use these tips, improve them or share your own.

To help us spread the word about ways to unclog your day, we are hosting the Ultimate “Unclog Your Day” Drano® Snake Plus Giveaway. To enter, simply comment on this post and share your own tip, trick or idea for a chance to win one of two $1,000 prizes redeemable for a consultation with a professional organizer, a home cleaning service and/or a gift certificate to a major home retailer, which will be provided by Drano®. Use the gift certificate to buy home organizing products to keep your home clog and clutter free!

  26. You’d think in such a small house, things would be easier to find but that’s not the case here. To unclog my day and make everything run smoothly, i have a bench set up near the front door and I call it the “frustration station”. I put everyone’s shoes, bags, homework, etc on the bench so we can easily find what we’re looking for instead of going on a “search and destroy” mission before we leave the house. I also hung a peg rack above the bench where we put our car keys and things that need to be hung up, like backpacks.

  44. Well, LITERALLY, I use baking soda, vinegar, and a boiling hot water flush to unclog my drains because it is natural, totally safe for the environment, and costs about fifty cents to do.
I would REALLY LOVE to win this because I would use it for the consultation with a professional organizer, whether my husband likes it or not! We live in a three room house (four if you count the laundry room), and these are not even large rooms. We have one closet. And yet we have lots of stuff. Needless to say, we need some help…

I unclog my day by following some of the fly lady’s advice; I do a 27 fling boogie (throw away or give away 27 items) and a 15-minute speed clean! (with the timer set, of course). That keeps things running smooth and helps me unclog the areas around me, which helps my brain to unclog as well!

One way that I unclog my day is to set up for the morning the evening before: table’s set for breakfast and all non-perishable foods are out on the counter; lunch is packed; papers/bags/whatever are checked and set out by the front door, clothes laid out, etc. This allows me/everyone to focus on just a few things and sets the tone for a relaxed, organized day.
