It’s easy to talk about how much stress kids can cause you, but that’s only half true – what stresses many mums out is trying to juggle kids with work and everyday life. Coping with kids is half as hard when you’re not at home and trying to do a million other things too; but sadly there isn’t a place where you can get your kids on your own, away from the stresses of everyday life.
What you can do though is have a little bit of time away from your children, which could be exactly what you need to get rid of some of that mounting stress. Getting away from it all with your partner is one way to relax a little, though it can be expensive. You never know when you’re going to get a chance to escape, so check out sites like laterooms and grab a bargain at the last minute.
If you can’t get away from the kids for an entire weekend, then even dropping them off at the grandparents’ or a friend’s, and taking a day out just for you will do you a world of good.
Mums quickly learn that even these occurrences are pretty rare though, so you have to learn how to de-stress at home. Taking ten minutes to yourself to have a bath (longer than 10 minutes if you can get it!), or play games online for a little while, like bingo at Ladbrokes.com or even just some flash games (Google some, or have a look at what your friends have been playing on Facebook) can relax you a little; the important thing is not that you’re on cloud 9, but that you’re always ready to deal with whatever it is your kids are going to throw at you next.
