5 Ways to Keep Your Baby’s Clothes Organized

How do you keep your baby’s clothes and other items organized in the nursery? As a new parent, keeping your baby’s clothes organized can be challenging. Don’t worry! There are plenty of creative ways to keep your baby’s clothes neat and tidy without having to rely on expensive organizational systems or nursery furniture. Here are a few ideas on how to organize your nursery and keep clothes in order.

Drawers

As your baby grows and their wardrobe expands, drawers can help you keep things organized. Be sure to place a label at eye level so that it’s easy for you to see what’s inside. Make sure that labels are clear and concise—you don’t want something like short-sleeved shirts; instead, be more specific (like blue and white striped long sleeve t-shirt, or black capri pants with yellow flowers on them). If you have multiple babies in diapers, be sure that all of your equipment is easily accessible for each child. Some parents find it helpful to dedicate one drawer for each baby. And remember—drawers can also hold other types of items such as toys and books. The possibilities are endless!

Baskets

One easy way to keep your baby’s clothes organized is to use a basket. You can purchase them at any store and they come in many sizes. Using baskets helps you separate your baby’s clothes by type (such as socks, hats, gloves, and hair accessories). This will also make it easier for you if you need one particular piece of clothing. You will no longer have to dig through piles of clothes; instead, there will be an obvious place where that item can be found. Baskets can also be used as cubbies to put books and toys away.

Chests

Most parents are familiar with using baby clothes chests for storage, but there are a few things you should keep in mind before using one. When selecting a chest, look for one that is sturdy and has rollers so it can be moved easily. Some models include baskets so you can sort items by size or type of clothing. If you’re considering a chest as storage in your nursery, choose one that blends well with your decor; when not in use. If you don’t have room for a free-standing clothes chest or simply prefer something different, try hanging garments on hangers and storing them in plastic tubs (or dresser drawers) instead.

Containers

Things that help keep baby clothes organized are containers. Depending on your child’s age, you may be looking for something with a lid or an open storage box. Either way, make sure whatever you choose has a lid and isn’t too heavy so it can easily be moved from one location to another when you need to do laundry. An easy-to-open top will help prevent spills, too.

Hangers and Shelves

Hang your baby’s clothes in an organized way. This will help you have a better view of everything and is also easier when it comes time to dress them. For example, clothing items such as Sandstone’s newborn onesies and accessories such as a baby carrier or an Ergobaby sleep sack look better on hangers and are easily accessible and stored. On the other hand, clothing articles such as pants look better folded and put into a drawer or container. Pants even look great when laid flat and stacked in a basket or bin.

When it comes to baby clothes, sorting them out is only half of your work. The other half involves keeping them organized so that they are easy to find when you need them. By following these five tips, you can save yourself loads of time, energy, and frustration in your quest for easy access to all things tiny and adorable.
