5 Tips for Feeling Confident in a Bikini

Summer is almost upon us, and after gaining a little lockdown weight, you may feel like you’re not bikini ready for that all-important, two years in the making vacation.

This article is going to give you some hot tips and tricks to not only make you feel great in a bikini but also look great too!

Food & Drink

We all know what foods we should eat to make our bodies healthy and lose a few pounds. This section isn’t about that.

This is about the kinds of foods and drinks you should avoid or be eating just before your holiday to get that flat tummy you want in a bikini!

Bloating is a problem often caused by excessive gas in our digestive system. For many people, foods high in dietary fiber cause excessive gas and lead to the dreaded bloat. The difficulty is, you can find this in anything from beans to wheat (so pasta, bread, cakes, etc.)

Fiber is necessary for good digestive health, but if you want to keep the bloat down for your holidays, try and limit your fiber intake to the recommended daily amount (many of us eat more than we need) and try and source it in wholesome foods rather than refined flours and processed foods.

Dairy can also cause issues as a lot of people are lactose intolerant. Try a plant-based alternative such as oat or almond milk if you find dairy an issue.

Avoid fizzy drinks, which can also cause gas. Drinking herbal teas and water instead is a wonderful way to stay hydrated without bloating.

Exercise

Whilst hitting the gym once a week before your holiday isn’t going to make a lot of difference to your shape, you would be surprised about how much you can achieve in a short space of time.

Cardio is good for fat burning, but weight machines are useful for toning.

If you’re already slim but want toned abs and legs for your bikini, hit the weights. If you want to lose pounds too, think about a more holistic approach where you do cardio three days per week, then alternate toning for the tummy, arms, legs, and bottom for the other four days.

Supplements & Creams

There are many supplements and treatments available on the market designed to help you look better.

Anti-cellulite treatment creams may help reduce the orange peel effect on your legs and bottom if used long enough in advance of your holiday.

You should always take a skin, hair, and nail supplement to keep you looking and feeling great.

If you’re looking to lose a few pounds or tone up, you could also try this product.

Turk is derived from plants and insects and mimics what steroids do but is not a banned substance like steroids. This means you can potentially tone up more easily, and the lean muscle you have, the faster your metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns fat).

Costume Style

Choosing a costume style for your body type will help you feel confident in your bikini too.

There are lots of different body types, but as a general rule:

  • To enhance curves: Go for push-up tops and heavy patterns.
  • To decrease curves: go for plain patterns, minimizing pieces, or a one piece.

Tricks

In addition to the above, there are a couple of other tricks you can use to feel great in a bikini.

Firstly, a tan (fake or real) gives the appearance of being slimmer, so this is a great little trick. You can also get a tattoo from an expert tattoo artist in San Francisco and really stand out!

Then tying a sarong over one hip can also create a slim silhouette as it leaves only the defined side of the leg on show.

Whilst you should always love your body, confidence is something that is out of our control. With the handy tips in this article, you will be feeling great in a bikini in no time.
