Wordless Wednesday – Is It Time To Play?

This was Shae on Saturday at 7am ready to play. Shae put her boots on because I told her the grass was wet.  Also, those are her pj’s.  She is a simple little fool. LOL.

The Winner is Atkins Nutrition

The answer is true.

My mother and father have been on Atkins on and off for years. When they stuck to the plan it worked but they easily fell off the wagon when their lives got too busy to snack healthy and plan meals regularly. When I recently introduced them to Atkins Day Atkins Advantage and Atkins Endulge bars they were hooked. They both stocked up on their favorite flavors to keep at work for a healthy alternative to vending machine choices.

My favorite is the Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Nougat Bar. At 170 calories and 11 grams of fat, it is an indulgence but it also provides 10 grams of protein and and 11 grams of fiber so I don’t feel so guilty when eating one. I keep a couple Advantage and Endulge bars in the diaper bag and in the pantry for those times when I don’t pack lunch for myself or just when I need a guiltless treat. They are filling and actually quite tasty. I can easily skip the candy and granola bars and reach for one of these without it feeling like health food like some other snacks I’ve tried.

If your are following the Atkins plan you’ll have to research what products are right for you depending on your phase. I’m just trying to live a healthier lifestyle without crazy meal plans and strict schedules. Atkins has tools for every step of the way, including a Carb Counter and a Recipe Database. It’s not just about bacon and eggs anymore, the Atkins plan introduces vegatables, healthy carbs and fruits and nuts in an order to turn your body into a fat burning machine.

“At Atkins, we believe in helping you live the best life you possibly can. And it all starts with the Atkins Nutritional Approach – it gives you the power to eat right, lose weight and keep the weight off for a lifetime of healthy living. “Do you want to try some new Atkins products for yourself? EcoStore Analysis

When the opportunity arose to try our EcoStore products I was ecstatic. I try my hardest to keep my family healthy by using as many eco-friendly products I can. No Nasty Chemicals is the foundation from which EcoStore runs its business and I’m trying to follow the same philosophy.

We received the Auto Dish Powder and Rinse Aid and during the first load I noticed something; no stinky bleach smell. The dishes came out clean and shiny and there was no smelly puff of steam when I opened the door. Their Baby Moisturizer was also great. It went on smooth and dried quickly. Our normal routine is bathe, apply lotion, let dry then put on jammies. EcoStore’s Baby Moisturizer also doesn’t leave a sticky residue. Shae’s skin was smooth and silky even the next day.
Made from plant and mineral based materials, EcoStore is just as effective as conventional product but without the harsh chemicals, perfumes and dyes that can be linked to eczema, respiratory problems and allergic reactions. Founded over 15 years ago in the home of Melanie and Malcolm Rands of New Zealand, EcoStore was born out of necessity. Living in an eco-village, each resident was responsible for their own waste water and it was becoming quite clear that conventional cleaner’s petroleum-based, synthetic ingredients were helping with keeping the waterways clean. The customer base of EcoStore products has grown from the original “Greenies” of New Zealand to you and me in the States.
EcoStore’s great products can be found at EcostoreUSA.com. Right now, when you checkout from Ecostore’s online shop you get a $2 off coupon good towards any purchase at Meijer. This promotion is in celebration of Earth Month!

Snack and Play Travel Tray

I’ve mentioned before how far we live from our family. The closest relatives are my parents at about an hour drive. This means a lot of time in the car, which also means always packing enough things for the kids to do so that the ride is more comfortable and fun.

The Snack and Play Travel Tray has transformed car rides from the hand-that-to-the-baby-game to she-hasn’t-made-a-peep-silence. Shae is now able to read her favorite HUGE seek and find Sesame Street book, have her cup and a little snack all at once just by having this convenient tray strapped to her carseat. In the past the book was leaning on her knees and her cup was wedged under her arm and a snack was out of the question. The Snack and Play Travel Tray has huge mesh pockets to hold all the goodies any kid would need. Extra books, paper, crayons, a spare binky and Pepperidge Farm goldfish are stored in reserve for every car ride. Her things stay on the tray thanks to the deep rim and because it’s made from foam there isn’t much weight put on her legs so no discomfort.

I’m going to try this next on our stroller. With its simple buckle fastener I’m sure I won’t have a problem attaching it. I’m sure this would also be perfect for airplane rides, those in the seat trays are too small and too far away for a little one to utilize. Thanks to mommy inventor Alyson Probst to giving us something we all knew we needed. Check out StarKidsProducts for a list of retailers near you or to become a retailer yourself.
Snack and Play Travel Tray is a PlayDate Pick.

Flip and Tumble 24/7 Bag

I try to live a “Greener” life.
I cloth diaper, recycle, use chemical free cleaners and eat organic. One thing I seem to fail at but I try really hard to implement is using more reusable bags. I have them everywhere, in the car, in my husband’s car and in the kitchen. In the diaper bag I even have some of those bags that fold into themselves but they are so stiff I don’t like to use them.
But I’ve been converted! The Flip and Tumble 27/7 bag is my new favorite stuff into themselves reusable bag. They aren’t stiff, they roll into their own little pouch faster than my “other” bags (check the video here) and my most favorite detail is the long tote bag strap, yes I said strap. The Flip and Tumble 24/7bag has one long strap so when it is full you can just toss it on your shoulder and go. No more struggling to grab and carry all the handles of those other bags. Oh yeah, the colors are delicious!!! They come in such a wide variety there is something to please anyone; aqua/sky, pink/raspberry, lime/sky, brown/sky, black/slate and evergreen/sage

I recently went away for the weekend and in an attempt to pack light I didn’t bring the diaper bag. I figured we weren’t going anywhere so her overnight bag was enough. I was wrong! At the last minute we decided to take the baby to brunch. I dumped out the Flip and Tumble, which was serving as the holder of all the kid’s snacks and put in a large box of wipes 3 diapers, a change of clothes, snacks, 2 sippys, a couple books, hand lotion and my wallet and phone. No problem at all! It fit all of that with so much room to spare, which worked out perfectly to stow her coat and hat at the restaurant. Again it’s one handle came in handy to hang from the back of my chair without worrying about a strap falling off and spilling the contents all over the floor.
This awesome tote came from Stubby Pencil Studio. Not only will you find the Flip and Tumble there they also have the coolest eco-green products for kids such as Natural Play Dough, Picnic Play Mat and Smencils!
