Tuesday night I am in bed and someone (to be named later) comes into the bedroom and begins a conversation with me. The conversation at bed time was cool but the topic was pretty funny.
I do the food shopping for our household, not sure why, it is just a duty I did on my own one day and it stuck. Melinda goes with me sometimes but for the most part I go by myself. I try to save a few bucks when I shop by buying sale items or even store brand products. I feel most, now I said most not all seem to be pretty equal to the name brand at a fraction of the price. One of the most often purchased store brand products is ice cream. I feel where we food shop the ice cream is pretty good so I do not need to buy name brand. I usually pick up two half gallons a week for $5 for the family (We love ice cream).
So the person above I am now ready to name and it was Melinda. Melinda’s conversation was “when you buy ice cream can you get me just plain vanilla or cookie dough” and that is because I usually get ice cream with stuff in like caramel, chocolate chunks, peanut butter cups, etc. I said I do get cookie dough sometimes and Melinda responded “I do not like the store brand so can you get me a brand like Bryers, Edys or Blue Bunny please“. She was not rude at all about it and I laughed and called her an ice cream snob which she confirmed for me since the store brand was not good enough for her. She also threw in when I buy yogurt could I buy more Yoplait think and creamy as that is the only kind of yogurt she will eat. What the heck is going on here? Can she not adapt to other brands or flavors, LOL? My kids are not as picky so I tend to buy what is on sale because again for the most part I feel they are very similar in nature. Don’t get me wrong I also enjoy the think and creamy yogurt from Yoplait but I only buy it when it is on sale which isn’t that often since we go thru a dozen if not more yogurts a week.
I guess when I go food shopping next I better get Breyers, Edys or Blue Bunny ice cream and Yoplait thick and creamy yogurt or else, LOL.
