Shae’s Tomato Plant

Late spring early summer Melinda and I went to Lowe’s and got two pepper plants (1 red, 1 yellow) and a grape tomato plant. We have gotten a few peppers from the plants so far and we have gotten a ton of tomatos but not one single tomato has been eaten. Actually they have been eaten just not by me or Melinda but by the little tomato monster we call Shaebe. Who would have thought that a 2 year old would LOVE tomatos sooo much. Shae will look from the sliding glass door inside the house and yell for tomatos. To me it is the weirdest thing because I have never seen a 2 year old go so nuts over tomatos. Melinda and I always joke that we bought Shae her own personal tomato plant since she is the only one who has eaten any. And not because we don’t want to eat any but because she won’t let anyone else eat any. LOL. Oh well at least they are good for her. Maybe next year we will buy Shae her own cucumber plant.

Oh, this is too funny! I grew up in New Jersey where we would eat large tomatoes like apples — just chomp into them. Lately I've been eating grape tomatoes like crazy. They really do make me remember that tomatoes are a fruit!

And my other favorite veggie is cucumbers. I remember my mother would just peel and hand me half a cucumber without even slicing it and I would be very happy gnawing on it.

  2. That is too cute. My 2 year old daughter loves celery!!??
Whenever someone opens the fridge..she runs over and points and says …Celery! Celery!

That's just so sweet ~ I can picture her eating them with her cute little chubby cheeks. I just love tomatoes this time of year… we slice them with almost every meal, even breakfast. When I buy the cherry or grape tomatoes, we just pop them like candy. Your plants are beautiful, we can't grow them at all down here in FL.

Excellent!! My tomato plants are like forests right now, and I am new to gardening. Thanks for the tip. I wonder if the same holds true for my jalapeno pepper plants and bell peppers? Anyway, all best.

LOL! How cute. Here Keeg and Loch will bring me oranges from our tree. When they see things grow, it can help them eat healthier.
