I wanted to write this post yesterday for Fatherhood Friday that takes place over at Dad Blogs but with the holiday it just never happened.
On Wednesday we were lazy and didn’t feel like making anything for dinner so we declared it to be pizza night. Since it was now declared pizza night I had to run down to our local pizza shop to pick up two dough balls and toppings. Our oldest Sabreena asked could she take a ride with me so off we went to get the pizza supplies.
Our pizza shop seems to sell a lot of odds and ends like ice, ice cream, homemade desserts and homemade cookies. While we were waiting for the guy to get our pizza stuff Sabreena noticed the four baskets of homemade cookies. Sabreena is a HUGE peanut butter fan and immediately notices the cookies with the peanut butter chips. Sabreena never asked for a cookie but she typically doesn’t ask for things when we are out. Now if that was Shaun he would have pestered me until I bought him a cookie. LOL. So I paid for the pizza stuff and we were ready to leave and I told Sabreena to get a cookie. I was a little surprised by her response. Sabreena was so excited and thanked me so many times and was hugging me. I thought maybe I just bought her a car and didn’t realize it with how excited she was then I realized it’s the little things. Sabreena spending some time with me and me buying her a cookie made her day and that made me feel awesome. You don’t always have to spend a lot to make others happy.
