Why do kids LOVE the conveyor belt at the grocery store so much?
I typically go food shopping by myself but at times I have been known to live on the edge and take Shaun and Shae with me. They are usually pretty good in the store and even better if we make a pit stop by the bakery department for a fresh baked donut.
We spend about an hour in the store getting everything we need for the week. That last sentence made me laugh because no matter how much I think about what we need or no matter what is written on the list I typically will need to make an additional visit to the grocery store at least one during the week to pick up something that is needed for dinner. Throughout the trip the kids are touching everything they can reach and get their hand on. Not sure why that is so exciting or even fun but it seems like every kids does it. I have even caught Sabreena doing it and she is 15 years old.
During the trip I also will get suckered into one additional snack item that the kids want to have for school during the week so I tell the kids to pick wisely. Not sure how they rationalize what they want in there head but they have a picking system that works for them.
We then head to the checkout where the kids MUST help and I mean must help put the items up on the conveyor belt. After everything is rung up the cashier will print and apply any coupons that are dispensed for certain items that I bought saving me a few extra dollars which helps with this donuts and extra snacks I bought the kids. LOL.
Do you take your kids to the grocery store? Do they demand to help you during the trip like mine do?
