Enter To Win A Trip To New Orleans To Play Some Football

Thanksgiving was this past Thursday which to my family means turkey, football and relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.  Most people even if not a fan of football tend to watch on Thanksgiving.  There is nothing better than building memories around football, family and food.

My favorite team is the Tennessee Titans and I remember a few years back my family and I got the opportunity to watch them beat up on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day.  I already enjoy Thanksgiving but being able to watch my favorite team made it that much better.

Clorox is also a fan of football and is running a contest where you and nine of your friends and family  can win a trip to New Orleans to play in the first ever Clorox Toilet Bowl with ESPN analyst and former professional player , Jesse Palmer, as your quarterback.

Here is what you need to do for your chance to win:

  1. Tell us in 100 words or less why your team should play in the Clorox Toilet Bowl.
  2. Upload a photo.
  3. Pick a mascot.
  4. Choose your colors.
  5. Rally your fans.

On December 3, 2010, eight semi-finalists will be announced and community voting will begin.

One vote per person per day is allowed through December 11, 2010, when two finalists and their teams of nine of their choice will advance to play in the January 13, 2011 Clorox Toilet Bowl in New Orleans.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Dad Central Consulting on behalf of Clorox and received a gift code, toilet wand and football to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Tailgate or Entertain with Farm Rich

Football season is upon us and that means Rob wants munchies for the games. I try to something different and more exciting than chips and salsa but really don’t feel like cooking anything most weekends. Farm Rich has a selection of tasty stand-ins that are not only easy to prepare but are quite tasty.

Most recently we got the chance to try the Mini Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. I’m from Philly so I know a good cheesesteak. While these aren’t a match to the original they are a good substitute. They are cheesy, flavorful and small enough to be a snack or light lunch. The kids aren’t cheesesteak fans (they can’t be my kids) so Rob and I are able to enjoy 1 bag over a couple meals. We’ve always been Farm Rich fans though, most days you can find the French Toast Sticks and Cheese Sticks in our freezer.

Start your Football weekends off right with delicious selections from Farm Rich.

Take a Picture and Win a Trip to the Superbowl from Canon

Canon U.S.A., Inc, a leader in digital imaging, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame are looking for the best youth football photos from across America. Football fans are encouraged to pick up a camera this season and show their passion for the sport through photography by entering the sixth annual “Why Do You Love Football?” photo challenge.

The nationwide amateur photo contest is divided into two divisions, Adults ages 18 and over and Teens 13-17, and consists of two categories. The category Action focuses on any image that captures football action during game play and Feature comprises any football imagery outside of game action. The winning photographer in both divisions will have the opportunity to attend Super Bowl XLV in North Texas and receive a trip to the  2011 Pro FootballHall of Fame Enshrinement Celebration. The winning photos will be displayed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame for one year.

Fans are invited to enter up to 10 of their best youth football photos from September 2, 2010, to December 1, 2010, by visiting www.usa.canon.com/nfl and following the online entry instructions.

A judging panel consisting of: Archie Manning, former NFL quarterback and father of two Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks; Peter Read Miller, Canon Explorer of Light and Sports Illustrated photographer; and other prominent staff photographers and photo editors will determine the group of 14 finalists in each division. Once the field is narrowed, fans will make the final call by voting for their favorite photo from December 20, 2010 until January 7, 2011, via the contest website listed above, with the Grand Prize winners being announced in early January.

“Year after year I look forward to see how fans portray their passion for the game of football through their photography,” said former NFL quarterback Archie Manning. “Each year the photos entered in the contest get better and better and I am looking forward to see what this year’s will produce.”

Alabama Crimson Tide – National Championship

I have been an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan since I was about 15 years old.  The last time I saw them win a championship was in 1992 vs the Miami Hurricanes.  Well they are National Champions again after defeating the Texas Longhorns 37-21. I am so excited. ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Are You Ready For Some Football?

The Tennessee Titans (13-3 in 2008) are at the Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4 in 2008) in the NFL season opener tonight at 8:30 EST. This is my favorite time of the year for sports. I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!!!! Last Saturday college football started and Alabama which is my college team beat Virginia Tech 34-24. Tonight I get to see the Titans which is my NFL team play tonight against the Steelers. Should be a great game and I am hoping the Titans come out on top.

I love everything about football and always have. I love football so much I am in a fantasy football league. You know you are hard core if you are in a fantasy league, hence the word fantasy. LOL.

Let me know who your favorite college squad and NFL squad is if you have one and if you are in any fantasy leagues. Would love to see what kind of football fans read our blog.
