Packing for vacations is tough but what I dread is the car ride. Anything over an hour is torturous with 3 kids of such varying ages. They can’t decide on a movie to watch together, the 2 youngest can’t read so books only last so long, I try to keep eating to a minimum to reduce the mess that is made so that leaves music. I’m lucky that my kids love fun music.
Van Oodles is my new go-to CD for the car and the house. Dave Olsen, “Van Oodles” himself comes from a background nothing like the music he creates. He used his experiences and opportunities to get to where he is now. With silly voices and toe tapping music this CD gets my kids running around the house and dancing. Not your average kids music, Van Oodles tunes are new and fun. We’ve never been Raffi fans or crazy about dull traditional nursery rhymes.
This CD fits in nicely with Snacktime by Barenaked Ladies and Play by Milkshake. Each of these bands along with Van Oodles offers something different not just for the kids but for adults too. The music and lyrics appeal to adults and teens with its rock and hip-hop and pop feel as well as strange voices and original storylines.
