If you are a kinda regular reader here you might know that Shaun played his first season of Lacrosse this past spring. It was a different experience than football last fall. An incredibly positive and energizing experience. No wonder why I was all geeked out when I got the email to attend the Major League Lacrosse Championship later this month.

MLL is comprised of eight teams across the US and Canada. The Boston Cannons, Chesapeake Bayhawks (formerly Baltimore and Washington), New York Lizards (formally Long Island) and Rochester Rattlers are original teams starting in 2001. The Denver Outlaws began play in 2006 as part of the League’s western expansion. The Hamilton Nationals (formerly Toronto) joined MLL in 2009 as the League’s first international team. The Charlotte Hounds and Ohio Machine began play in 2012 as a part of the League’s expansion initiative to have 16 teams in the next decade.

Major League Lacrosse began play in 2001 to capitalize on the growing demand for world-class field lacrosse driven by dramatic growth in the U.S. lacrosse market. The MLL was praised and heralded for its on-field play, regarded as the best ever seen. With a year-on-year attendance increase, Major League Lacrosse has continued to lead the sport of lacrosse into the mainstream of competitive team sports.

We are seeing a growth of popularity in our area and hopefully this will continue as Shaun continues with athletics during his school days.

The Major League Lacrosse Championships are being held in Philadelphia at PPL Park where the Philadelphia Union (soccer) currently play.

I’m the biggest sports fan out there! I used to go to Denver Nuggets, Denver Mammoth, and the Denver Avalanche games all in the Pepsi Center. Oh, and of course I went to the fabulous Denver Outlaws games, too! I love all sports, but lacrosse has my heart!

I am a huge lacrosse fan and spend my spring going to as many college games as possible. I try to attend the Big City and Face Off Classic every year. I catch as many games as possible online and watch on WatchESPN the next day all the games I missed. I have never gone to an MLL game though. This season is my first season really getting into the MLL and this would be a great culmination to the season! I also have been to a few Yankees games, and one Philadelphia Eagles game.

  8. We have gone to Blue Rocks, Phillies, and a Yankees game. We also went to a hockey game when we lived in NY but that wasn’t my thing AT ALL. The Yankees game was because we got cheap tickets but we were actually cheering for the other team on the wrong side of the stadium lol.

  9. I recently went to an arena football game. It was really cool and fun.

  10. I’ve never been to a game – this would be kind of cool. I know my son would enjoy this.

We are a lacrosse family. My son sleeps with his stick besides his bed. He was talking about going with his teammates but this would be a great outing.
