We kicked off summer with a Memorial Day bash at our friends house. She supplied the location and water slide we provided the Banana Boat sun care for all the families that joined the fun.
The weather was sunny and bright and warm, a great way to start off the summer. We arrived and the kids instantly wanted to go down that slide but I knew they needed to get protected first. As a blogger I need to have the latest and grestest phone, gadgets and electronics and recently I received the Blackberry Playbook 64gb tablet to add to my arsenal of goodies. So far I am pretty impressed with the overall performance of the Playbook and I find new features daily.
Here is a quick overview of some of the features that I really like:
Since I have recieved the tablet a few things that I have used a lot and work very well are email, the web browser and documents to go. I have taken the Playbook with me when I have went places instead of my bulky laptop and it has worked awesome. The one thing I need to get over it that it only has Wifi for when I am on the go so you need to have a Wifi hotspot available in order to connect to the web or email but most of the time that doesn’t present a problem.
The Blackberry Playbook has a pretty good selcection of apps through Blackberry App World. I was able to find Facebook and Twitter and a few other apps that I was looking for. I am having a hard time finding games for the kids but I must admit I didn’t really spend more than 15 minutes searching so this part is still a work in progress.
The one thing that I don’t like about the Blackberry Playbook is there is no flash on the camera. I know most tablets do not offer this feature but I wish they did because this is something that I would love to have.
Overall, the Blackberry Playbook stacks up very nicely against other tablets as well as my laptop so if you are in the market for a new tablet take a look at the Blackberry Playbook.

Healthy living and eating has taken a key role in our lives recently. Rob and I started running so we have changed the way we cook and snack.
Nutritious fruits and veggies are tops on our list for easy snacking but there is a little obsession I have, popcorn. For as long as I can remember popcorn has been my indulgent snack of choice a couple nights a week. Something happened last year that got Shaun and Rob really into Monster Trucks. They went to 2 shows last year, one already this year and have another 2 on the schedule. It’s a different kind of sport that they are used to. Instead of 2 teams battling each other the drivers are trying their best to just finish in one piece.
