Leave Me B Collection

It’s pregnant season in my family. Both my sister and sister-in-law are pregnant with their first and both due 3 weeks apart in October. Needless to say it’s going to be a long hot miserable summer. At least they can look cute. Leave Me B is a trendy shop that offers fun maternity tops that poke fun at all those ridiculous comments and questions thrown at pregnant mamas. Not just a maternity shop, Leave Me B carries a first-rate selection of non-pregnant clothing and gifts and baby gear.
I was lucky enough to get a tee for my sister in law. This is Melanie in Leave Me B’s “All I Wanted was a Backrub” tank.

She is wearing it over a long sleeve tee just due to the weather but she loves it. She says it’s roomy and comfy and fits her style and sense of humor perfectly. My brother thinks it hysterical but what guy wouldn’t.

Summer Party: LTDchix

LTD Chix was founded in 2006 by two moms and the company is devoted to producing alternative and fun wear for families. LTD Chix recently launched “Living The Dream,” a new line of custom t-shirts designed exclusively for modern moms with a sense of humor!

The shirts are 100% cotton and feature a wide variety of tongue-in-cheek illustrations depicting the daily trials of today’s mom.

I received the Laundry Shirt. I have no idea how my family goes through so many clothes in a day, maybe it is because they are all male and like to get dirty ! So the Laundry Shirt is perfect for me ! I always wear t-shirts, what a great way to show mommy pride ! When it come’s to being a mother, who doesn’t love a little humor or sarcasm.

The shirt fit was great ! The material is a thinner material and is perfect for those warm spring and summer days.The shirt washed up amazing and looks the same as it did when it arrived even after a few washing.

I’m using the past few days of FANTABULOUS weather as inspiration. The sun was shining, the kids were outside playing and the central air was running.

One of the greatest things about having young kids is the sweet clothing that can be found. Dressing my kids in innocent and endearing clothing makes me feel like they will stay little forever.

Coco Bonbons is a clothing line produces high quality, whimsical and unique clothing for children. I fell in love with the details at first; buttons, ribbons, appliqués and of course CUPCAKES. I have a love of cupcakes and Coco Bonbons just sucked me in with their Josie collection, so of course that is what I picked out for Shae. I was shocked to find items in Shaun’s size though; he is an extremely tall boy. It’s hard to find boyish clothes for a 6 year old who looks like an 8 year old. Tees are my favorite kinda clothes. As some of you know I’m a daycare provider so no more heels and blouses for me. I wear comfortable clothes like sweats, jeans, tees and flip-flops. To switch things up a bit I wear a funny tee even though the kids can’t read the parents at the bustop can. I just got this one in honor of Earth Week from my friends at NachoMamaTees. Yes that’s me, I don’t normally show myself but this is a MOMMY article. If you’re looking for funny and INEXPENSIVE tees for adults and teens this is the place to go. The quality is spot on and their selection is growing. Yes some shirts might be offensive but that’s my kind of humor sometimes. There is something for everyone, political humor, classic TV and Movies and Pop Culture. Here is one of my faves because it’s just like me, it just takes a little something to pretty me up LOL.

Sk8Grl is about More than just Clothes

Being the mom to a teenage girl I have to be conscious of the message that clothing designers send to the market. Sexy isn’t a message I read to well. I’ve found a unique alternative that fits Sabreena’s lifestyle as well as fashion needs.

Holly Lyons was sweet enough to answer some questions from Sabreena. Check out what they had to say.

  1. What/Who got you started skateboarding? I got into skating when I was a teenager. My sister was friends with these pro skaters, so we would go and watch them at a mini ramp at this one guys house. I thought it was so beautiful and I have never been one to just sit and watch. I started dating one of the guys and he hooked me up with a skateboard and some t-shirts.
  2. Who do you look up to in the skateboarding world? I look up to Chris Miller a lot. He owns a successful company, Planet Earth and Adio. He’s a really good person, a great husband and father. He is also the smoothest and most graceful skater I have ever seen. It’s always fun to skate with Chris.
  3. How long do you skateboard in a day? Depends, generally for a couple of hours.
  4. What injuries have you sustained? Many….I just had reconstructive surgery on my wrist, I have torn my mcl on both knees, my left knee twice. I tore my acl snowboarding and had surgery, and was also knocked out for 10 minutes and had a contusion in my brain. That was scary, my mind was skipping a lot for quite a while. I have broken bones in both hands, chronic back pain which is a lot better due to chiropractic work, yoga and exercise. I have had so many cuts, bruises and scrapes I wouldn’t know where to start It’s funny, but they were all worth it at the time and I don’t have any regrets because I learned a lot from every incident.
  5. What advice can you give to teen girls about their futures? Well, everybody is different. Skateboarding is getting bigger and better and there are so more girls skating than ever, which is so cool. I think if you love to skate then skate. If you are skating because you want to be sponsored or get free stuff then you are in it for the wrong reasons. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to withstand the injuries and keep going forward. You have to be tough because no matter who you are, you will get hurt. This also is the same with love, life, relationships or whatever. There will be the ups and the downs. Wise teachers say “It doesn’t matter what happens to you, it’s how you react to it.” When something happens it just is, it is your response that determines if something is “good” or “bad”. So, you have to skate because you just can’t image not skating. That’s how it’s been for me and trust me it’s been a colorful journey to say the least 🙂
  6. What is the future of Sk8Grl? Hopefully we will keep growing and making a positive difference for girls in skateboarding and in life. We are all about inspiring and empowering girls to believe in them self, go for it, and know they can always stay feminine and be strong! We aspire to be the ROXY of girls skateboarding and be sold worldwide. We want to have a very interactive website where girls can become friends and find out about each other, have girls design shirts and vote on the designs, then have them made and pay them a royalty. We want every girl to be part of the company itself through design projects like that and more. We want every girl to be part of the Sk8Grl world and know that their voice counts and that they can be anything they set their mind to. We want Sk8Grl to be the girls voice in skating!

Jellybean Apparel-Etsy Find

My pregnant sister is in for a rude awakening if he thinks she’s going to find super cute maternity clothes in her regular stores. I mean simple tees and jeans and dresses are easy to find but she’s going to want hip and fun clothing to show off her bump. JellyBeanApparel makes the stuff my sister is going to want.
These are my 2 faves for my sister!

I even love that they have hysterical daddy tees. My brother-in-law needs this one, it even comes in Phillies colors LOL.

Now comes the task of picking one out to buy for her.
