The Children’s Place has all your kids needs

Shopping for kids clothes is one of my favorite things to do. I love seeking out bright colors, vivid patterns and cute ensembles that match my kid’s personalities. Since Sabreena was a baby The Children’s Place has been my number one place to shop for clothes, coats and jammies.

This year we bought Shaun the 3-in-1 jacket for the winter. It comes with a fleece inner jacket that easily zips out for warmer days or cooler days indoors at school. We’ve used the coat several times now in the snow and there has been absolutely no problem with Shaun staying warm and dry with it’s nylon outer shell. We didn’t pick up the matching hat but Children’s Place was so kind to send the Faux Trapper hat that I was eyeing, I call it the Fargo hat. Shaun wasn’t too crazy about the hat in the beginning but quickly realized that it kept not only his head warm but also his ears from turning to ice cubes.  As a matter of fact both Shaun’s and Shae’s winter coats were purchased from The Children’s Place.

Along with his new hat Shaun received a beautiful Faux-Sherpa Hoodie Cardigan and matching knit hat that was a perfect addition to Christmas Eve visiting. He’s a jeans and tshirt kinda boy but this luxe brown sweater added just a touch of classiness without forcing him to be uncomfortable.

Shae was treated to a ton of goodies courtesy of The Children’s Place. Shae literally squealed with excitement when I showed her the sweater/hat/mittens combo that she received. She wanted to try everything on immediately so on top of her jammies went the new items still with tags attached.

This winter The Children’s Place has introduced not just cute apparel but also great accessories and toys to fit into any kid’s life. From watches to stuffed animals to fun board books the Children’s Place is a great place for shopping for kids of all ages. The holidays may be over but The Children’s Place is always a great place to shop for all your kids needs.

Purple Pig Tshirts for yoga or everyday

I don’t do yoga unless Wii yoga counts and I doubt it does. But it’s not a required that you know Cat Pose to enjoy comfy cotton yoga tees from Purple Pig Shirts.

Our yoga shirts are created based on our desire to share our commitment to health and wellness in a fun way. These shirts are not only for practicing Yoga, Pilates and Meditation but any wellness activity. Because they are so soft and the designs are so fun…we encourage everyone to wear our soft t-shirts anytime, anywhere.

My wellness activity is playing with kids all day long, which should count towards something. I chose to review the Ohm Flower, the design is pretty and black is always a good choice. I love that it’s very generous in length but wish the fit was a bit looser to accommodate my chest. They recommend up-sizing but just due to the fitted style and my size I’m always going to have that issue. The tee itself is soft and very stretchy and just a tad sheer but not obscene.

Since receiving my shirt they’ve added a couple of Mens choices and cute designs like Pink Lotus Burnout, with sheer longsleeve burnout arms and a beautifully handpainted Lotus Flower over a solid black tee. There is a blue option too that is equally lovely.

Stock up for the holidays, buy 3 tees and receive 20% off. Become a Fan of Purple Pig Shirts on Facebook or follow on Twitter, you never know when they might announce a fun giveaway or must-shop sale.

Revenge Is… Recycled Clothing Process

And the Winner is:

Revenge Is… wearing clothing made from not only organic materials but recycled plastic bottles (RPET). Yes I said plastic bottles! To make the RPET, recycled plastic bottles are melted down and then processed into a fine yarn which, in turn, becomes a soft and silky t-shirt. This process allows the tees to be washed and dried over and over and over without shrinking or fading. You get the luxury of wearing a comfy fashionable tee without the hazards of owning cotton.
Revenge is… more than an apparel and accessories company. Their mission is to bring awareness to the environmental and issues that we face daily by introducing products that help make a difference.

Global warming, energy dependence, war, economic turmoil, foreclosures and unemployment – these are some of the major crisis facing our world today. Developing alternative sources, practicing “reduce, reuse and recycle” in our everyday lives, and demanding more effective diplomatic and economic policies of our government and business institutions will help. The old saying goes “the best revenge is living well.” Our belief is that, by taking action today, we can all live well tomorrow.
Our individual actions may not change the world, but our collective actions will. Our message products make the statement that you care and you are part of the solution. Our newsletter will inform you about critical issues we face today. Our blog gives you the opportunity to voice your concerns and solutions about the many challenges we face today.
Sabreena received 2 tees from Revenge Is… The Peace tee send a message that we all want to live in a community that is safe and healthy for not just us but our children yet we are daily bombarded with issues of crime, violence and terrorism. Our Best Revenge against these issues is Peace! The Earth Day tee reminds us that we can collectively change the fate of our world with our positive and sustainable choices. All tees from Revenge Is… are made in the USA and are made using a mix of organic cotton, eco friendly printing inks of course recycled water bottles.  I do wish the tees were cut a little bigger.  The mediums are ok for Sabreena, a bit snug but she likes them that way. they just introduced some more colors, the purple has a  great heathered/faded look.
Become a part of the change; take part in your area’s pressing issues. Visit Revenge Is… blog to learn more about what is going in our government, world issues and our economy as well as pressing environmental issues. Volunteerism is one that that almost everyone can do for almost every cause out there. Help is always needed!

Dad’s Perspective: The idea of recycling water bottles into tshirts if a pretty cool idea.  Sabreena is all about going green and doing more for her community so this article is right up her alley!

Win fun and sustainable products from Revenge Is… right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Most people have heard of bamboo fibers for use in clothing, bedding and bath textiles. Bamboo is a not only a renewable resource it is naturally smooth, soft and non-irritating. This makes bamboo a desirable material for those with sensitive skin. This doesn’t mean bamboo isn’t perfect for everyone though. Its round fibers make it possible for the fabric to lie softly next to the skin instead of rubbing against it like other synthetic fibers. Its breathability and insulating properties also make bamboo the perfect year round material for garments.

The selection at DreamSacks® is vast; clothing for men, women, kids and babies plus lush bath towels, silky sheets and fun accessories. Win a Sophie Short Wrap right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit DreamSacks® and tell us another item you would love to try out.

Dad’s Perspective: I liked the look and feel of the jacket, it gave a simple outfit a little pizzazz while still looking comfortable.

GoJane.com online shopping for teen girls

Being the parent of a teenager comes with it’s own set of difficulties. One of them is being able to shop for fashionable but reasonably priced clothing that we can agree on.

Go Jane.com is an Internet retailer of fashion forward apparel for progressive young women. They specialize in offering unique and daring styles that can’t be found elsewhere. The web site is designed to provide the most dynamic selection of clothing on the Internet by constantly introducing new styles and products. We add over 100 new styles every week to keep customers at the forefront of fashion. Why wait for the next catalog of the same old pictures? Find something new at GoJane.com.

Sabreena was sent a pair of great jeans for review. The Double Button Straight Leg Jeans fit her perfectly! I was scared to order jeans online but was pleased with the look and fit of them and at less than $25 they are a great deal. GoJane has so many other things that I know my picky daughter would love and so many of their things are super cheap; ruffle tops for $8, animal print tanks for $9 and metallic flats for $15. Each Friday night Gojane adds new items to their already huge selection of clothing and accessories while also offering free shipping on orders over $50 using code GJSHIP50.

    Kidorable gear and accessories Recapitulation

The weather around here lately is weird, rain in the morning and sun by lunch and rain again at night. We like to walk Shaun to the busstop but Shae doesn’t like her shoes to get wet, yes she’s prissy sometimes. How happy was she (and I) when she received these adorable Ladybug Rain Boots and matching Ladybug Backpack from Kidorable. And yes she wears both the boots and backpack to the bus stop even when it’s not raining.

Kidorable is an online boutique for kid’s raingear and fun accessories. Started in 1997 by Liping and Jonathan Domsky, they proclaimed, “The world needs someone to create children’s apparel and accessories that are both functional and fun. We can do that.” That first year was the introduction of umbrellas and hangers and each year they launch a new product line which brings them another year of success. In its first three years, Kidorable grew from a hopeful startup to a thriving business with $2 million in sales. Ever since, Kidorable has continued to blossom, evolving into a flourishing global enterprise, contributing to the success of dozens of sales professionals and thousands of retailers, with sales projected to exceed $10 million by 2010.

Every kid needs their very own umbrella for the rain. I remember buying Shaun a frog Kidorable umbrella on a rainy shopping trip. He was bummed he didn’t have his own umbrella so when we spotted it in a department store I knew it would make his day. While this was a couple years ago we still have it and he still has the urge to use it but at the ripe old age of six something more manly might be more appropriate. Shae is at the perfect age to carry an umbrella, dress in a raincoat wear rainboots and carry her backpack, all matching and all ridiculously adorable. The product line reaches far beyond raingear. Another one of my faves is the hooded towel, a great accessory for bath or beach! Take your pick from a variety of fun kids products like backpacks, mittens, scarves, embroidered tees, bookends and more, all designed to complement the theme and take your child from toddlerhood to preschool.

Win your own Kidorable umbrella right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit Kidorable and tell me another item that you love or think would make a great addition to their collection.

Fig Leaf Baby for preemies to toddlers

When a new baby comes along you make sure they are clothed in only the finest, softest material. We don’t want to skip cuteness though. Fig Leaf Baby has brought those 2 requirements together to bring a special line of clothing for little ones sized preemie to toddler with simple but stylish designs.

Combining smart design, creative writing, and high quality materials, Fig Leaf Baby was born! Fig Leaf Baby remains a truly family owned business, and each piece produced is a reflection of the company. Only the highest quality materials are used and each piece is personally checked quality workmanship, and to ensure that production is both environmentally and socially responsible. Fig Leaf Baby – a new design on babies’ first apparel line.

Fig Leaf Baby was generous enough to send a long sleeved tee with Diapered Debutante embroidered on it. The phrases are all simply adorable but this one stuck out because I knew it would be perfect for my sister’s little girl. She will be not just my sister’s first child but the first grandchild on her husband’s side. She is going to be the princess. This is the tee hanging from the baby clothesline from the baby shower.

The tee itself was heavier than a simple undergarment onesie and the embroidery was backed with a special material that aids in supporting that technique but will wash away as to avoid scratchiness on baby’s skin. Made with 100% organic Peruvian Pima cotton, the design is well thought out as well as the sweet phrases. Some are very situation specific, like N.I.C.U. Alumni for the preemies or Curvy for the chubby babies and Play Dating for the social butterflies.

As one of the few providers of preemie size clothing Fig Leaf Baby is dedicated to making people aware of the increase of premature births in the US. According to the March of Dimes, in 2006, 1 of 8 babies in the United States is born preterm. In the past 10 years, premature births have increased 16% yet hardly any baby apparel companies make clothing for these babies. Parents of preemies have to resort to doll clothing, learning to sew themselves, or going through the trouble of altering baby clothes. Fig Leaf Baby believes that these parents are already going through so much and finding comfortable, cute clothes for their little one should not be another struggle. Their preemie garments are made from the softest material and include sayings such as “Small Packages” & “Preemie Donna” which add a little brevity to a difficult situation. To help preemie parents, Fig Leaf Baby will be adding information, a forum, and a comprehensive list of other companies that provide products for preemie babies on the website in the near future.

Baby Shower Gift #2 The Bomb Mom

One day a guy was watching his beautiful wife tend to his precious children and the phrase came to him… The Bomb Mom. For awhile he wasn’t sure what to do with it but eventually he realized it was a clothing line… a series of statement tees for all the beautiful (inside out) women who give their lives to mothering. The bomb moms.
You can’t get anymore perfect than this sweet but hip sentiment.
The Bomb Mom is a fab company that puts out these awesome tees and onesies for moms and kids and babies. Now your little one can proudly display how they really feel about you, “My Mom’s the Bomb”. Every mom deserves the praise of their little one wearing one and they also deserve to wear one of their own as a badge of honor. In fact I asked if women’s sizes were available with the phrase “My Mom’s the Bomb” so my teenager could wear one. Personally I would love to wear “My Mom’s the Bomb” on mother’s day to honor my own mother. I’m going to further suggest men’s sizes to promote their own moms!!!

I received my Copper tee and immediately put it on and while it’s a little snug (everything is) it’s super soft and the colors are rich. The tee is actually a good length too, I’m always complaining about too short shirts, skin peeking out when sitting, but this tee is a great length, no riding up. Sabreena quickly agreed to the saying and that made me feel good. “You are the bomb mom” she said, awwwwwwwww. This tee is going to look great with jeans, khakis, casual skirts and even lazy lounge pants if I’m feeling the need for a pick me up.
I’m including The Bomb Mom in the Baby Shower Blog Party because every new mom sometimes needs a reminder that she is amazing, selfless and worth more than the her weight in gold. Give that gift that makes everyone take notice, give that new mommy you know a tee that says a thousand words with just three.

Visit The Bomb Mom and tell me who in your life deserves the title The Bomb Mom. It could be your mom, neighbor, best friend, sister or yourself.

    Spreegirl Sleepwear Recapitulation

“It’s not just sleepwear, its fashion” is the Spreegirl philosophy for their trendy line of intimate apparel. I’m talking about so much more than just lacy panties and sheer lingerie. Spreegirl carries a full line of women’s boxer shorts, babydolls, halter camis, robes and more with bold designs, rich colors and vintage design giving each collection an updated retro feel.
When I received my Hipster Halter and Boxer Short, Rob and Sabreena immediately thought it was a swimsuit. The high quality material, braided strap and woven fabric details didn’t look like sleepwear. Some pieces are meant to be wearable, if I was 10 years younger and some pounds lighter the halter top would look fabulous with jeans and sandals.

Not everything Spreegirl carries is wearable outside the home though, they do have more intimate apparel such as the Glitz and Glam collection with is sheer material and bows. If you are looking for a more subdued but ultra feminine collection, check out their line, Slip into Nature. It consists of a set of sheer nature themed slips with delicate ribbon trim.

Sabreena’s jammies are adorable. She received a set from the London Pop collection, it so fits her age and style without being risqué. The brightly patterned and boldly colored capri pants, bra and henley tank are going to make for great summer jammies.

A special touch I want to mention is that my boxer shorts are lined in bamboo cotton. This sustainable material is naturally anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic. Bamboo requires no fertilizers, pestisides, or chemicals to boost growth, making it an excellent eco-friendly choice. Spreegirl is taking steps to incorporate more sustainable fabrics into their designs and working with other organizations and charities who share the same outlook to leave this world a better place than we found it.
