She is now 2 years old and sleeps with us more now then when she was a baby. When she was a baby we put her in her crib at night and once she was able to start climbing out we put a crib tent on to keep her in. Then a few months back we moved her into a twin bed (Big Girl Bed). We wanted her to go to bed on her own so for a week or two in the beginning we would put Shae in her bed and walk out the door. Shae would cry and get up but when she saw us she would run back into bed. Each night the time it took got shorter that it took for her to stay in her bed but one day BAM it was all lost.
I can’t even remember what cause it but all of the work we had done was lost. Now we either need to lay with Shae in bed until she falls asleep (within 2-3 hours she is up and right in our bed) or she just starts out in our bed. Since I get up at 12:30a.m. I try to take Shae with me and have her lay with me so Melinda doesn’t need to take a half hour or so out of her night to put Shae to bed when I am going to bed anyway. We probably could go thru the whole putting her in her bed thing again but I remember how painful it was last time so I doubt it would be any easier this time. I know there are benefits of co-sleeping but it really takes away from Melinda and I spending any time together in the bedroom on the weekends when I actually don’t need to go to bed at 7 p.m. I am not complaining well maybe a little but we need to find a way to start Shae in her bed and have her sleep their thru the night. This might be asking alot but I am hopeful. If you have any suggestions let us know.
