25 Halloween Movies for Kids

With the dropping temperatures of fall come one of my favorite holidays, Halloween. We’re just one month away from the fun night of dressing up and gathering goodies from the neighbors. There’s something about that night that makes me feel like a kid again and it’s a great excuse to squeeze in some fun movie time with my own kids. These is my go-to collection of Halloween and Spooky Movies for Kids for Halloween.25 Spooky and Not So Spooky Movies for Kids for Halloween

While they aren’t all Halloween themed they all have an element of spooky, scary, haunted or creepy AND of course fun. Be a parent and do your due diligence and judge for yourself if particular movies are suited for your child’s age and personality. I starred a few that are more scary than others but these are just my opinions. These are all affliate links to Amazon also. Some the prices are super cheap for really great films.

Philadelphia Science Festival 2013 #PSF2013

On Monday Melinda and I attended the Philadelphia Science Festival Preview event at the Franklin Institute. I was a little hesitant on attending because I wasn’t sure how much stuff they would have but I am glad I attended. They had a ton of knowledgeable people on hand talking about a lot of different cool things.

I learned that Science isn’t just for geeks and if you open up your mind there is a lot to be learned about science and the Philadelphia Science Festival is helping teach people cool stuff about science.

Here is a little bit of information on the 10 day event (4/18/13 – 4/28/13) coming up:

The Philadelphia Science Festival is a ten-day, community-wide celebration of science that takes place annually in April, featuring lectures, debates, hands-on activities, special exhibitions and a variety of other informal science education experiences for Philadelphians of all ages.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? Over Here!!!!

I know I have written or have at least mentioned before about how much my kids LOVE Scooby Doo but in case you missed it I will tell you again. I’m talking borderline obsessive. For instance Shae loves Scooby Doo so much she dressed up as Velma for Halloween this year. Before I met Melinda I had a ton of Scooby Doo stuff in my apartment like a cookie jar, shower curtain, trash can, etc. Believe it or not Melinda still married me even after see all of that stuff, LOL. Ok, back to my point.

Shae watches Scooby Doo non-stop either on TV or one of the 15 DVD’s we own. I was excited when I heard on November 9th they are releasing Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series and we were lucky enough to have received a copy for review.

I thought that the DVD’s being stored in the back of the Mystery Machine was really cool and something that would really draw people to this collector set. The one thing I can see as a problem is that the DVD’s come in a cardboard sleeve. I am afraid Shae and Shaun might ruin them but other than that this is an awesome Collector’s Edition that is a must have. This limited edition collector’s set contains three seasons of Scooby Doo, 41 episodes in total spread across 7 discs and an eighth disc will also be included and contains NEW BONUS MATERIALS.

I can’t wait until Christmas so I can watch all of these episodes with Shae and Shaun but mostly with Shae since she is the Scooby Doo freak at this present point in time. Rooby Rooby Roo!!!!

This DVD set will be available November 9th with an estimate MSRP of $59.99

Holiday Wishlist 2010 – Melissa and Doug Recap

Most of you probably know we love Melissa and Doug Baby and Toddler Toys in a big way.  I would almost say in a stalker kind of way, LOL.  We have had Melissa and Doug toys in the house since Shaun was a baby and he is now seven.  I can’t even tell you how many things Shae has from the lemonade stand to numerous play food sets.

Something about Melissa and Doug toys just draws me in.  Back over the summer we were at Border’s and I saw a huge section of items and we bought Shae the pizza set.  I liked the pizza set so much I went back two days later and got her the birthday cake set.  Melissa and Doug toys are built with imagination in mind for the little ones and big ones who will play with them.

We are excited to have received for overview the Purse Fill and Spill and the Mailbox Fill and Spill for our two nieces.  They are still babies but the thought of them growing up with Melissa and Doug toys like Shaun and Shae did is a really cool thought.  The toys are quality made and will last a long time no matter how hard you beat them up.

Here is a brief description of the Mailbox Fill and Spill:

Find envelopes for many special occasions with removable stamps and other treats. Put them in, take them out, it’s always good news. Constructed of high quality fabrics and plastic for durable play. Recommended Ages: 2+ years

Here is a brief description of the Purse Fill and Spill:
