The Red Monster with a Green Thumb comes to Philadelphia

The weather forecast might be cold and dreary in Philadelphia but on Sesame Street it’s always sunny. Join Elmo and all his friends when Sesame Street Live’s Elmo’s Green Thumb comes to the Liacouras Center March 12-14th.

Elmo has raised his sunflower, Sunny, from a seed, but his floral friend has outgrown the flower pot. Elmo and friends find Big Bird’s garden the ideal place for Sunny to flourish and grow but they are too excited to wait. Rather than let Sunny follow nature’s course, Abby Cadabby, Sesame Street’s fairy-in-training, casts a spell to make Sunny grow. The spell does just the opposite and, instead of growing, Elmo and all of his friends shrink! While Abby searches for just the right words to reverse the spell, Elmo, Zoe, Telly and friends explore Big Bird’s garden from a smaller perspective and learn some big lessons about patience, overcoming their fears and appreciating the role that each creature plays in our ecosystem – from dancing ladybugs and beautiful butterflies to grouchy beetles that scavenge the garden floor. Will being small help Sunny grow tall? It’s a fresh, original Sesame Street Live on a whole new scale!

Holiday Wishlist 2010 – Company Kids EcoFun Giveaway

Creative play is an integral part of childhood and development. The Company Kids Eco Art Fun supplies are a great way to get children to use art as a way to express themselves.

Free of artificial dyes and chemicals the Dough and Paint are not only good for kids and the environment but good for the playful soul. Did you know a common method of treating autism is through “art therapy”. It could be because it focuses on addressing the difficulties of imagination play. Art is, by nature, a very individual, creative and hands on process. Allowing these children to explore with clays, paints, crayons, brushes and embellishments allows them to experiment without borders.

Eco Dough and Paint both include 5 colors (green, yellow, blue, orange and purple) and are 4 oz each and are made with all natural mineral pigments.

Play doughs, paints and supplies are good for all children whether on the spectrum or not so be sure to enter to win an Eco Art Fun Pack here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit Company Kids and tell me what other creative and imagination play things you’d like to try out.

Winner Chosen: YouCanMakeThis.com Recapitulation

I would love to get “The Ruffler…Unruffled!” I can’t figure out how to use mine at all. the name pillow looks like something that my daughter would love!!!

mudpiesandmaryjanes(at)gmail(dot)com

I have a fondness for all things handmade. Some of my most cherish possessions are a hand crocheted blanket from my grandmother, a fridge magnet Sabreena made in pre-k and a macaroni necklace from Shaun. I consider myself a bit crafty, I’ve made my fair share of gifts and simple clothing but YouCanMakeThis.com has boosted my craftiness tremendously. With their easy to read, easy to follow ebooks anyone can create gorgeous pieces like a pro.

I was generously sent the Personalized Name Pillow eBook. At first I was a little overwhelmed at the 22 page document. After reading it I realized most of the pages were the letters for personalization and the instructions weren’t really that long. All the details were spelled out clearly; I never had to second guess what I was doing or think that I might have missed a step. It took me a couple weeks to even get started because I thought I had all the materials so I suggest taking the materials needed page with you to the store. Overall it took a few hours total from start to finish to complete my pillow. Unfortunately I can’t show my pillow because it is a gift for someone who reads my site but it is adorable. I didn’t buy any fabric; I used scraps I had on hand so it has a very shabby chic look.

If you want to delve into handmade gifts and clothing and crafting YouCanMakeThis.com needs to be your first stop. I plan on purchasing a handbag eBook and a couple baby items, one can never give too many baby gifts.

I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of making my pillow and praise YouCanMakeThis.com for supplying such a fantastic service.

Do you want your own Personalized Name Pillow eBook? YouCanMakeThis.com is giving 2 LookWhatMomFound readers a copy for themselves.

With spring comes warmer weather and with warmer weather come lots of get-togethers. Just this month I am hosting 2 birthday parties. Every proper hostess needs an adorable apron to greet her guests. OvertheTopAprons has a GORGEOUS selection of aprons to bring out the fun and flirty side of anyone.
Corline from OvertheTopAprons sent Shae an adorable vintage paper doll toddler apron. While she’s too little to help me in the kitchen she has tons of fun in her kitchen in the playroom. She wears her extraordinary apron while chatting on her phone and stirring a pot then serves up yummy meals of French fries and hardboiled eggs.

The quality and workmanship of Shae’s OvertheTopApron is excellent. The aprons are designed by owner Corline. Her designs are original and fun and creative.

Do you want an apron of your very own? Corline is giving away an apron to a LookWhatMomFound reader.

Toile apron, 100% cotton, machine washable in cool water, tumble or hang to dry.
Long ties to be tied in front or back, according to your personal style.
