Baby Shower Gift #1 Storkie Express

One of the biggest duties I have as the sister of a pregnant chick is planning the shower. I’m excited to do this for her and have been working out the details, date, location and food for months. The time is quickly approaching to start sending out invitations. I know store bought, hand-filled out generic invites would’ve served the purpose but not for my new niece. She deserves the best! The best can be found at Storkie Express.

Storkie Express is a family owned online stationery boutique founded in 1990. With the best selection of high quality, custom printed Baby Shower Invitations, Birth Announcements, Wedding Save the Dates and Holiday Cards at affordable prices you are going to find a full range of product lines from baby to religious to holiday to wedding. Customers can fully customize their invitation/announcement/card on Storkie using their new special design tool “iDesign” which allows you to change font, text, color, spacing, photo filter, photo cropping and more. All orders are checked by professional typesetters to ensure the finest product results. Proofs are available at no extra fee including unlimited revisions at no extra fee to ensure your invitation/announcement is perfect. Orders print FAST – most orders placed before noon M-F print and ship the next business day.

I was looking for something different for my sister’s baby shower, something non-traditional but fun. Considering my sister’s personality and hobbies I decided on this blonde pregnant girl on a Vespa.
It suits her perfectly and she and the guests are going to love it. Once I decided on the graphic the layout design was simple using Storkie’s IDesign. I was able to personalize the verse with her name and move things around to fit better. IDesign is easy to use and game me the opportunity to add extra details like multiple hosts, additional location information and more registry information. Shipping was quick, within 36 hours of placing my order then the invites were in my hand less than a week later. I definitely recommend Storkie Express for any and every event you have coming up. Here is a quick peek at some of my favorite designs from baby shower invites, kids birthday invites, graduation announcements and wedding invites. Just because my focus is baby remember Storkie offers choices for EVERY special moment in your life.

I’m changing the date of the Baby Shower Blog Party. It is going to start Monday, July 27th instead. I added more prizes at the last minute so this will last 2 weeks (no weekends).

It’s Blog Party time again. This time it’s in special honor of my sister and sister-in-law who are both pregnant and both due in October and both having little girls. I’m beyond excited and have been looking all over the web for cool products and also teamed up with some cool mamas to get their advice on pregnancy related topics. These articles which include Cloth Diapering Basics and Handling Premature Labor can be found here at Preparing for Baby.

This blog party is full of cool reviews and giveaways like cloth diapers, nursing tools, stationery, diaper bags, bedding and so much more! It starts July 25th so come back and see all the fun goodies in store.

Grab the Baby Shower Blog Party Button and you’ll get an additional 3 entries into every giveaway I have listed for that week. Leave me a comment telling me where to find the button.

Summer Party: JVC Everio Camera

It’s amazing how fast technology changes. 5 years ago my parents bought my husband and me a camcorder to take on our honeymoon. It was awesome at the time, you recorded to a mini tape. But, I quickly learned it was not easy to watch those mini tapes. I asked my husband to transfer them to DVD – but, uh, that still has not happened.

Anyways, so after those mini tape camcorders came the camcorders that burned a DVD. Super convenient and you definitely skipped a step. My sister has one. But, I swear it seems like she is always formatting DVDs to be used and has limited space/memory. She never has the ability to whip out a camcorder and tape. Plus, it was still a bit “bulky”.

Now, the Mom Buzz and my “partner sites” are buzzing about must-have summer items. This includes items that protect you from the sun, help you on your travels AND help build memories. From pocket camcorders to digital cameras, and from self-published books to … the JVC Everio GZ-MG630 camcorder.

What is the JVC Everio GZ-MG630 camcorder? Well, if you want to capture high quality videos of your family this summer, this is the go-to camcorder.

First, I have to talk SIZE. It is SLIM. It’s unbelievable that such a small camcorder can take such GORGEOUS videos. It definitely weighs under a pound and it is about 4.5″ x 2″ x 2.5″ in size. When I was ready to take it out and play at SeaWorld, I realized I didn’t have a case for it. So I took an old film camera out of its case, and the Everio fit perfectly in. The length is smaller than my hand! It’s that petite! So much better than the camcorder my mom used to tape my graduation oh-so many years ago, which was about the size of a pug.

Next, let’s talk tapeless. It’s tapeless and DVDless. It records straight onto its 60 GB built-in hard disk! There is an option to use a microSD, though. This is cool if you want to have more memory. Or, say, you are going to tape an event for someone, they could give you a microSD card to tape it on. But, currently I have not tried using a microSD card and have recorded directly onto the built-in hard disk. Now, being tapeless allows the Everio to be more slim than other camcorders. Plus, it is very easy to save your recordings onto your computer or upload to YouTube. Other options are to save your recordings direct to DVD and to a VCR/DVD Recorder.

The camcorder is also easy-to-use…thank goodness! I mean, I am a mom-on-the-go! I do read directions, but I didn’t have the directions memorized when I brought the Everio to Sea World. I just had to keep my fingers crossed that it was user-friendly. I definitely learned a few things at the theme park, like you shouldn’t use the light to tape a whale behind glass no matter how dark it is – because then you just see the light’s reflection! But, going from light on to light off, or going back to review videos and see I somehow taped someone’s legs was easy thanks to the sensor on the left side of the LCD monitor. You choose the Menu button. Then you just slide your finger up and down to see the different options. When you see an option you like, you touch the set sensor. Simple!

The Everio GZ-MG630 does more than record movies – it also captures still images. When you flip open the LCD monitor, you will see buttons on the camcorder itself. Just switch from the camcorder image to the camera image and you are ready to capture stills, even continuous stills! You can even record a still image when shooting video by pressing SnapShot. Once again, it keeps you from bringing along another device, when you are already carrying a ton of stuff to keep your kiddos happy! (Snacks, wipes, drinks, etc.)

Now, this camcorder is all about capturing memories – like the ones you will be creating this summer. But it is capable of capturing these memories on four video quality modes. We shot our SeaWorld videos on Ultra Fine. Other options include Fine, Normal and Economy. With each video quality choice, you will have a different length of recording time. With the Ultra Fine choice I had 14 hours and 20 minutes of recording time – more than enough for a SeaWorld day trip!

I uploaded some videos to YouTube, which was super easy. This is just a tidbit from the Dolphin Show. But the clarity of the picture, even after YouTubes compression, is great! Plus, that means any video you take is now easily embedded into a website or blog!

The Everio GZ-MG630 is available in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red and Diamond Silver.

Okay, here is more good-to-know techie specs and Everio benefits:

  • Up to 832 x 624 still resolution size
  • 40x Dynamic Zoom Lens
  • 2.7” 16:9 Widescreen Clear LCD
  • Auto Power ON/Off – No wasting batteries when not in use.
  • Auto Lens Cover – This camcorder is so mom-friendly! It knows that a loose lens cover would end up in a toddler’s grasp, so it covers its own lens when not in use.
  • Remote Control

When you purchase the GZ-MG630, it will come with an AC Adapter, Battery Pack, Remote Control, AV Cable, USB Cable, CD-ROM and the Everio.

The CD-ROM contains MediaBrowser software which is supplied with all Everio models. It provides an easy-to-search calendar-type graphical interface for indexing and finding video files. Thumbnail images of recorded videos and stills are superimposed on the calendar so it’s easy to see when any scene was recorded. The Everio MediaBrowser also allows easy playback, simple cut editing, and “Decomotion” to spruce up recorded footage with animated graphics for upload to YouTube.

There is so much to talk about with this camcorder. The Everio GZ-MG 630 retails for $429.95. It is a gorgeous, slim camera that I absolutely love. It would make a wonderful Father’s Day gift, Mother’s Day gift, Anniversary Gift, Wedding Gift, Graduation Gift… get the picture? There are so many memories to capture, that I think the recipient would absolutely love it! Plus, you can even gift it to yourself!

Winner Chosen: Coco Bonbons Evaluation

One of the greatest things about having young kids is the sweet clothing that can be found. Dressing my kids in innocent and endearing clothing makes me feel like they will stay little forever.

Coco Bonbons is a clothing line produces high quality, whimsical and unique clothing for children. I fell in love with the details at first; buttons, ribbons, appliqués and of course CUPCAKES. I have a love of cupcakes and Coco Bonbons just sucked me in with their Josie collection, so of course that is what I picked out for Shae. I was shocked to find items in Shaun’s size though; he is an extremely tall boy. It’s hard to find boyish clothes for a 6 year old who looks like an 8 year old. Their Clark collection was a perfect fit for his cool style but innocent age.

Coco Bonbons was started by Coco Kyriopoulos, mom to Charlie and Phoebe. After a 12 year career in the corporate world Coco made the jump to kidswear. With her love of children as her inspiration each exceptional design is named for a special child in her life, her own and her friend’s children.

Win a gorgeous outfit from Coco Bonbons for your little one. Visit their online shop and tell me your favorite Spring 09 collection and size needed.

She’s at it again! Shae loves her shoes and while she might not be picky about color or style I am. I want her chubby feet in something that is going to provide support and protection and help her stay upright. See Kai Run offers all of these things plus the chic designs and colors I love. Her newest spring sandal is Isabella. Made from butter soft sheepskin leather with tiny heart cut outs these shoes fit Shae perfectly. Flexible soles and breathable linings will keep these lasting all summer.

See Kai Run was born in 2004 after owner/designer Cause couldn’t find a comfortable shoe for her then 2 year old son Kai to wear outdoors. Being wildly popular and successful grants See Kai Run the opportunity to give back. Soles4Souls has been the lucky recipient of thousands of shoes for children in need. Also their Share a Pair donation matching events in 2008 allowed for an additional 17,000 pairs of shoes to be donated to Soles4 Souls and World Association for Children and Parents. As an added bonus See Kai Run footwear meets the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality and has been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance so you can feel good about putting shoes on your little one.

Winner Chosen…TspSpices, Party Giveaway #11

I love to cook, but I hate cooking the same things over and over again. Everyone says that spices and herbs can switch up a tired meal into something fabulous, but buying some of those herbs and spices can be a waste. I like chili but only in the winter so I don’t need a whole jar of chili blend seasonings taking up precious cabinet space. TspSpices has come up with an ingenious solution; package flavorful organic spices in convenient teaspoon a size packet that are protected from light and moisture but minimizes staleness and waste.

I’ve been using my TspSpices for a few weeks and LOVE them. Thyme is something that I adore on pork but since we don’t eat pork that often I never buy it. TspSpices has allowed me to make the yummiest pork roast by adding thyme to the recipe to give it a whole new level of flavor. I’m sad to say that fish is another rare meal in our house but with their individual dill packets I’m able to make it extra-special with a little lemon and olive oil.

My herb garden is lifeless right now but soon will be spilling with oregano and parsley but I can’t grow nutmeg or Ancho chili powder. TspSpices is the place to grab all of your herb & spice needs and feel good about what you buy. Organic seasonings free of fillers and additives are all you will find at TspSpices. Packaged in adorable tins these spices would make a wonderful house-warming gift for the new couple starting out or thoughtful mother’s day gift for the hidden foodie.

TspSpices is offering one LookWhatMomFound reader a chance to win a Collection of their own. You get to choose between Herb Samplers, Sunshine Zest, or Savoir Faire

Winner Chosen…BabyLegs, Party Giveaway #10

BabyLegs are the ideal fashion accessory for spring dresses and sandals while keeping your babies leg covered and warm.

Last spring Shae had tons of dresses to wear but tights on a diaper wearer is a nuisance. BabyLegs offers the leg coverage but without the hassle during diaper changes. They also kept her legs warm for cooler days and rides in the stroller or car. We also used Baby Legs all last summer while Shae was a crawler and spent most of her time in her diaper and a tee. This kept her knees protected from scratches and bumps and bruises. Even on vacation where the air conditioning was blasting I simply put a pair of BabyLegs on her under her jammies and she stayed toasty warm all night.

Here is a little about how BabyLegs got started.
Nicole Donnelly, then a stay-at-home mom, created BabyLegs to keep her dear daughter, Sara’s, little legs warm, while she was diaper free to allow bad rashes to heal. This impromptu invention not only allowed Sara’s rash to heal, but also protected her from many elements, made diaper changes quick and easy, kept her knees protected while crawling, and provided sun protection. Beyond all of these benefits, the leg warmers were also very fashionable. After numerous inquiries from other moms about where Donnelly found the little leg warmers, she began selling her invention out of a diaper bag, and the popularity of BabyLegs spread quickly throughout the community. BabyLegs can now be found in over 50 countries from Israel to Chile to Iceland. That is our rash to riches story – we hope you enjoy our sweet BabyLegs.
BabyLegs is giving a LookWhatMomFound reader a $20 gift certificate to choose what they want from all their cutesy goodness. You’ll find a HUGE selection of designs and materials of BabyLegs, you’ll find stripes and polka dots, argyle and flames. Keep it green with organic cotton and wool selections also.

Winner is chosen….Rosa’s Fudge, Party Giveaway #9

I like ice cream on vacation.
donna444444@yahoo.com

Every spring my family takes a trip to the Jersey Shore for the day. Just a day to play in the sand, stroll the boardwalk and have some treats before the summer crowd rolls in. Since we aren’t as close to the Jersey Shore this year I’ve found a phenomenal replacement for our fudge obsession, Rosa’s Fudge.

Handmade with real cream and butter and vanilla, Rosa’s Fudge stands against any of the beach places I’ve been to in Maryland, Jersey and Delaware. My favorites were Maple Walnut and Chocolate Walnut; both had delicious creamy textures and big chunks of walnuts. The others I really wanted to try but they had been snatched up by the rest of my family were Vanilla Cherry and Chocolate Coffee.
We had company over for dinner the weekend we received the fudge and served it along with our dessert, our guests raved about the unique flavors. Since we might not be headed to our annual spring destination I’ll just have to munch on the couple squares I hid in the freezer.
You didn’t think I would tease you about all the yummy candy and not offer you any? Rosa’s Fudge is offering one of my readers 24 pieces of fudge and you also get to choose which of the 22 flavors you want.

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the weather is heating up and there goes your little girl running away barefoot in the grass wearing her RuffleButt.

RuffleButts are adorable ruffled diaper covers that can be worn under dresses or by themselves for those little girls who prefer to be free. They come in all sorts of colors, styles and prints so you can have a Rufflebutt for each day of the week and for every wardrobe change. My personal favorite is LIME, it’s a fresh spring color that would lend nicely to all the gorgeous floral dresses on the market.

For a complete outfit check out the beautiful swing tops and one-pieces rompers. Simple trendy tees for a more casual look are also available but aren’t any less cute especially when combined with the frilly cuteness on you little girls bottom. I can’t wait to get to the beach this summer so my little girl can wear hers.

Win your own white woven Rufflebutt from me!
