Feeding Penny Pig, a lesson for saving money

I like to think I’m raising a bunch of book lovers. I’m also hoping I’m raising them to make smart choices. For the most part Shaun knows money is earned. He doesn’t fully grasp the value of things but he knows his money gets saved rather than spent. Feeding Penny Pig is a great read with a solid lesson, perfect for children aged 5-8. Shae enjoyed listening to the story and looking at the illustrations but the message was perfect for Shaun’s age.

A muk luk is a soft boot made of reindeer skin or seal skin worn by Eskimos. That’s the traditional meaning anyway, my MUK LUKS are cuter. I was sent a pair of Horizontal Rib lace back boots for review and love the look and feel of them.

I’m not the type to tuck my jeans into my boots but it’s almost necessary with these so you can show off the fun lace-up detail in the back. Family Fun 30 Great Games: Winter Fun for Wii Recapitulation

Its been said before, we love our Nintendo Wii. We have well over 30 games and love to add to the collection for those “I’m so bored” days. We’ve been enjoying a new game the last couple weeks, Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun. Especially with the Winter Olympic games recently wrapping up it was fun to watch them on tv and attempt them in a game.

Like most Wii games Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun is played by moving the controllers along with a series of buttons. And like most Wii games there is a learning process. Shaun is our key Wii player so he was the first to play this game. He was initially very frustrated with the different motions and sequences that had to be done to get his character to ski or skate. By the 2nd or 3rd time playing he had all the events covered and it has become one of his go games.

Easylunchbox Recap and Giveaway-CLOSED

Lunch time for me is very important but with me living and working in Delaware during the week it is essential that I pack my lunches when I am home on the weekend. In the past I would make my lunch and pack it in plastic bags that I would throw away after I was done eating. Over time I realized how many plastic bags I was wasting and how harmful it was to the environment and realized I needed to make a change. My change was Easylunchbox.

Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance Book

I am not sure if most of our readers know this but I am a huge cyclist. I do not mean huge as in weight I mean as in how much I love cycling. I started cycling two years ago to do an MS charity ride and have been hooked since.

Once the cycling season starts in mid March I will usually ride between 100-150 miles a week. All of this riding causes me to have to do weekly maintenance which I can do but when it comes to more complicated repairs off to the bike shop we go. I recently discovered a book called Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance by Lennard Zinn that should help me eliminate the bike shop for repairs.
Zinn offers DVD’s and books on maintenance for road bikes, mountain bikes and triathlon bikes. In my opinion this book could help you learn how to work on your own bike allowing you to eliminate costly trips to your local bike shop if you so desired. The book is very easy to read and follow and will give a list of tools and the steps that are needed to complete each repair. Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance also have great diagrams allowing you to identify each part on your bike just in case you are not familiar with all of them. The books covers maintenance items as simple as cleaning your bikes chain and as complex as working on your tires bearings.

I was really excited when I received Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance. Like I had mentioned I am pretty good at simple repairs and maintenance but not when it comes to the larger items like a tune up. A tune up for a bike is where they would adjust your front and rear derailleur (what moves the chain to easier and harder gears), check and adjust your brakes, lube the chain and sometimes check the spokes. A tune up can cost anywhere from $50 up to $80. Now you can see why a book like Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance would be an extremely helpful book to have at your disposal.

If you are new to cycling or have been doing it for a while like myself you owe it to yourself to check out Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance. This book covers every aspect of bike repair and maintenance and will help you save money which will easily cover the $24.95 cost of the book.

My family is my world and I would do anything to protect them and that is why we use Xtrema Cookware in our home. Xtrema Ceramic Cookware will leave no trace metals in your food and won’t leach chemicals from the cooking surface.

In 2004 Rich Bergstrom received an e-mail from Peter Hsu a ceramics research engineer/scientist in Taiwan asking if he was interested in a new high temperature ceramic material that could go on top of the stove and under the broiler. After that initial email three additional years of research, testing and product development took place. In February of 2007 Ceramcor, LLC was officially established in Toms River, New Jersey.

Xtrema Cookware currently has three product lines: cookware, teaware and bakeware. These products are so durable the cooking surface can’t be scratched even with metal utensils. If you are anything like me I always scratch our pots and pans because I use a metal spoon or item that I shouldn’t which then ruins the cookware. With Xtrema you no longer have to worry about that happening. Xtrema is also very versatile as it can be used on the stove then can go right into the oven and when done right to the kitchen table to be served but be sure you have something on the table to protect it from the heat. The cookware can withstand 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit so make sure you protect your hands and table.

We were really excited when we received our 10” Braiser and 6 pc Steamer set. I am first going to start by saying if you are looking for cookware that heats up in two seconds Xtrema is not for you. Xtrema is a cookware that you start on medium heat then turn down to low heat to maintain. This cookware takes time to heat up but let me tell you this it is worth the wait. We have used our braiser and steamer set over a dozen times to make meals like tacos, rice and beans, Italian sausage with onions and red peppers, eggs and breakfast links and they have all turned out terrific. When we first used our braiser and steamer set we had a slight problem. The problem was finding the right heat setting to keep our stove on since it is electric that would maintain the braisers and steamers heat. On the second meal we had it down pat and ever since then no problems at all.

All in all I am extremely impressed with Xtrema cookware. It is durable, looks great and really makes a great meal and maintains the meals heat while eating so you will never have cold seconds. If you are looking for new cookware or to replace your current cookware with an awesome green alternative you need to get Xtrema. You will be happy you did.

Keep Cozy With St. Eve Suggestion
