My Story Necklace from Simon and Lucy GIVEAWAY-CLOSED

Family is so important to me. My kids, my husband, my parents, my siblings and my new little nieces mean the world to me. My new “My Story Necklacepersonalized jewelry from Simon and Lucy represents all of these parts of my life in one lovely piece of jewelry.

Simon and Lucy was born out a mom’s desire to create something that represented the things that were most cherished to her; her children. With some hand-me-down tools and a bit of inspiration simple metal shapes and stamps are transformed into family trees and keepsakes.

I was given the opportunity to review a custom “My Story Necklace”. I give up some information about life and those that fill it and the jewelry was designed just for me. Each tag signifies something a little different.

  • Letter B for our last name and then the years of our anniversary and the kid’s birth
  • MomMom for my mother, she’s a very significant part of my children’s lives
  • A beautiful disaster of my the kid’s names, nieces names, my dad, grandfather and grandmother
  • My birthstone
  • Me and my siblings

It’s jingly sound is a pretty but casual touch to everyday. I’ve been stopped and asked what it was and asked to explain each tag and word and their meanings. The “My Story Necklace” is a unique option for mother’s and grandmother’s jewelry.

WIN your own “My Story Necklace” here at LookWhatMomFound..and Dad too!  What special moments/people/things in your life would you want represented on your custom “My Story Necklace”?

Keep Kids Healthy with Twinlab Marine Friends Omega-3 Giveaway-CLOSED

A healthy kid is what we all hope for but keeping them healthy is our job. With store shelves and internet sites loaded with hyped up supplements and vitamins and minerals how do you know where to turn?

Twinlab has recently introduced Marine Friends™ Children’s Omega-3 Powder. This supplement is shown to play a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growth and development. Omega-3 fatty acids are highly concentrated in the brain and appear to be important for cognitive (brain memory and performance) and behavioral function. In fact, infants who do not get enough omega-3 fatty acids from their mothers during pregnancy are at risk for developing vision and nerve problems. Symptoms of omega-3 fatty acid deficiency include fatigue, poor memory, dry skin, heart problems, mood swings or depression, and poor circulation. The foods that are richest in these healthy fatty acids are sometimes the ones kids like the least; salmon, algae, nut oils, flaxseed and tuna just to name a few. The human body is unable to produce our own Omega-3 fatty acids so we must supplement.

This is where Twinlab Marine Friends™ Children’s Omega-3 Powder comes in. Each serving contains 127mg of naturally sourced EPA and DHA, molecularly distilled for purity. The light tasting powder blends almost invisibly into every day foods and drinks, and the single serving stick pack, makes it easy for kids and parents to get their Omega-3s at home or on the go. NO artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or sweeteners added.

I’ve been mixing 1 powder stick with Shaun’s breakfast orange juice with no complaints. Mixed with milk wasn’t so good though, he didn’t like the flavor so we’ll stick with the OJ. I can see this being mixed in with applesauce, puddings, sprinkled on foods or soups with zero problems. Twinlab® Marine Friends™ Children’s Omega-3 Powder comes in 30-stick pack box for $27.99.

WIN a month’s supply of Twinlab® Marine Friends™ Children’s Omega-3 Powder for your own little one (recommended for children at 1 year of age) here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit Twinlab, what other products are you familiar with?

Valentine’s Day Party-Wilton Cupcake Theme

Cookies, cakes and candies Oh My! Who doesn’t love at least one of the things I mentioned? In our house we love cupcakes. There needs to be no special occasion or special visitors to have adorable cupcakes but what a great little surprise to give to someone you love.

I’ve become a better baker over the last couple years with the help of Wilton. With an extensive selection of high quality kitchen and baking supplies and ingredients Wilton helps everyday cooks become masters in their own homes. For Shae’s 1st birthday I tackled the giant cupcake, it was so cute. I’ve worked on a few other baking projects and have been pleased with everything I’ve tried from Wilton from their baking sheets to pastry bag to decorative cupcake liners.

I recently received a special gift from Wilton; Flower Power and Teddy Bear Silicon baking cups. What I love about these is I can easily fit a dozen cups on a baking sheet and place them into the oven, no more cumbersome cupcake tins. And the cups are so cute I frost and serve the cupcakes still inside. It’s a special touch to an already special treat. The directions say that they are dishwasher safe but mine didn’t come clean that way. I used a bottle brush and everything was fine.

Wilton Enterprises offers the industry´s most comprehensive and innovative selection of baking, cake decorating, candy making, cookie making, wedding, baby, party, seasonal and kitchen products. These products are designed to make it easy for anyone to enjoy the thrill of serving something special and utilizing unique style and design while doing it.

Win a fabulously adorable cupcake gift set from Wilton right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit Wilton and let me know what product you love or ALREADY love for your baking or candy making needs.

Valentine’s Day Party-Lisa Leonard Jewelry

How do you express your feelings to the one you love? How about a sweet piece of sterling silver jewelry that says LOVE all over it? Lisa Leonard is an artist that handcrafts, hammers, polishes, drills and assembles as collection of beautiful, sentimental and emotional jewelry.

I received my Lots of Love Necklace a couple weeks back. The moment I opened it I gasped a little and said “How lovely”. Those were the exact words out of my mouth; cute wasn’t the right word but fabulous sounded pretentious, lovely is the perfect description. The tag is stamped multiple times with the word love along with a little heart then a pearl charm hanging next to it. It’s delicate without being dainty and casual enough or everyday but also elegant for date night.
Since High School Lisa has been making jewelry but decided when her 1st child was born she wanted to do something different, something that let her be a mom first but still provides an income. This courageous step has not only brought great success but significant connections with women all over the world. Her business exists and thrives because she produces beautiful pieces that get noticed at the grocery store, coffee shop, office and everywhere in between.

I chose my necklace from Lisa’s inspired line. This is where you’ll find pieces with meaning like a tag that says “I hold your heart in mine” or a formed skeleton key to give someone the key to your heart. Lisa also has a large selection of custom options to add names, birthdates, words or initials. Each piece is custom made and with space and time allowed Lisa is able to accommodate lots of different requests.

One of my other favorite pieces is the Open Circle Bracelet. Customized on both sides of the circle with the names or phrase of your choice on a sturdy sterling chain this is something that will catch eyes and the signature dangling pearl is a sweet feminine touch. Don’t be fooled by all the “pretty things”, Lisa also designs items for men. I’ve been trying to get a personalized keychain for Rob for many years but each time he balks. I don’t think he understands how powerful a feeling he would feel every time he looked at the personal inscription to Daddy. His birthday is coming up; maybe this is the year I do it anyway.

Win a $50 Gift Certificate to help you choose that perfect piece for yourself or someone you love. Visit Lisa Leonard and tell me what other piece of jewelry you love that was NOT mentioned above.

Juice Box Heroes – No Sugar Added CD Recap

The 80’s were a time when music was simple and easy and the artists are still remembered to this day. Just in case you forgot or are trying to block out the 80’s here are a few artists I remember vividly: George Michael, Rick Springfield, Twisted Sister and Cyndi Lauper. There is an awesome band called Juice Box Heroes that plays these 80’s artists with a kids twist.

Juice Box Heroes brothers Craig and Scott Coane both played in 80’s bands in college and after college they started their own 80’s band. After becoming dads Craig and Scott realized playing in bars until 2 a.m. and then having to wake up for that 5 a.m. bottle feeding wasn’t going to work and they realized something needed to change. Enter Juice Box Heroes.

Heralded as “song favorites for parents, fun new lyrics for kids”, Juice Box Heroes takes the very best songs from the past and parodies them for young kids. Their debut album “No Sugar Added” is now available at juiceboxeheroes.com.

When we received this CD for analyse Shaun and I were pretty excited because we love music and Shaun loves to listen to music every night at bedtime. What caught my eye was the catchy titles to old 80’s classics like “Puppy’s Fur” which is a parody of Rick Springfield’s Jessie’s Girl. No Sugar Added is filled with awesome songs that you and your kids will love listening to.

This CD is so good Shaun has listened to it every night at bed time since we received it and he is a pain when it comes to music so that is how I know it is good. Every night when I put Shaun to bed I ask him what CD he wants to listen to and he tells me “Dad, the same one I listen to every night, Juice Box Heroes”. This is my story and I’m stickin to it.

Want a Juice Box Heroes CD of your own for you and your kids to enjoy?  Two lucky Look What Mom Found…and Dad too! readers will get this terrific CD.  Go to Juice Box Heroes and sign up to be a member of the fan club.  This is the mandatory entry.

Got Plans for the Weekend? Let Goby.com Help-CLOSED

On Saturday morning do you wake up wondering what to do with the kids to kill the boredom bug. Goby.com is a new service that has gathered all kinds of activities together in one spot. Sort by location, type of entertainment and date to come up with a variety of things to do. Some things might be your old standby or undiscovered treasures in your own backyard.

We’ve lived in Maryland almost 3years but still get stumped with new places to visit. I punched in our desired location and used the keyword “family fun” and found a couple museums that Sabreena would enjoy but was also reminded of the B & O Railroad Museum. Rob and I had been there for a function and thought the kids would really enjoy it but forgot all about that idea.

Not just for excursions with the kids Goby.com will seek out nightlife, hotels and theaters in a specific area. I like to try new restaurants, Mexican being my favorite so my most recent search showed me a whole new selection to choose from; I’ve settled on Blue Agave in Baltimore.

Goby poses three questions: What, Where and When. By answering just two of the three questions, you can instantly receive an easy-to-read results page that includes not only detailed information about attractions, activities, locations and events, but also an interactive map and photos from sites like Google and Flickr. Check out Goby.com today and be inspired by the myriad of things you can do!

Let Goby.com treat you and your family on a day out of fun and entertainment by winning a $50 AMEX Gift Card . Visit Goby.com and tell me what kind of activities you find in your own backyard that you hadn’t known of before.

Fishful Thinking Parenting Tool and Pepperidge Farm Gift Basket Giveaway-CLOSED

Growing up I thought a parents job was easy but now a father of three I see that is not the case.  Raising kids is a very difficult job and sometimes parents could use a little help and guidance. Fishful Thinking by Pepperidge Farm is a great tool for parents.

Fishful Thinking is made up of five key ingredients that we as parents can strengthen in our children and they are Optimism, Resilience, Goal Setting, Empowerment, and Emotional Awareness. Fishful Thinking is a terrific site with so much to offer parents so they can raise positive kids.
Under each of the five ingredients you will find a ton of great information like a definition of the category word, articles, activities, videos and facts. For example:

Optimism is the skill of focusing on the positive – without denying the negative – and channeling one’s energy toward what is controllable. Optimistic people expect good things to happen in their lives and work toward creating positive change. Fishful ThinkingSM helps parents learn new ways to promote optimism in their families and to create an environment that fosters positive emotions and the belief in possibilities.

Another feature of Fishful Thinking that caught my eye was the Quick Finder at the top right of the site. The Quick Finder lets you jump right to certain articles based on a child’s age and the skill set you are interested in reading more about. The first thing you would do is select the child’s age and the second thing you would select is the skill set you have an interest in. After that it will display all of the articles based on your criteria.

Pepperidge Farm has a ton of great products like Goldfish, Tim Tams, crackers and now they have a great parenting resource to add to their awesome line up of products.

There is so much more to Fishful thinking then is in my review so when you get a few minutes head over to Fishful Thinking and look around. You will find so many useful articles, videos and information that you can apply to your everyday life.

Pepperidge Farm has been nice enough to offer three lucky Look What Mom Found…and Dad too! readers a chance to win a Pepperidge Farm gift basket.  All you have to do is go to Fishful Thinking and tell me one fact not listed in this review.

To receive these extra opportunities for entries, you must fulfill the first REQUIRED entry above and please be sure your email in your comment, attached to you blogger dashboard or easily seen on your website/blog. I will not search through About Me/Contact Me links.

Eden Home Organic, Study and In-home Spa Treatment

Where do you turn to shop for natural and eco-friendly bedding, clothing, baby products and everything else for your home?

Eden Home is the one place to find a complete selection of organic, all-natural and eco-friendly products for your home and life that won’t have you compromising your sense of style. Many of the so-called “organic” and “natural” products sold today are either not pure or not beautiful. So Eden Home was started to offer healthy choices ranging from organic clothes for baby to natural bath towels, from organic cookware to all natural shampoos.

When I was approached by Eden Home I was 1st pleased by the lovely design and easy to navigate site. Next I was amazed at the large selection of everything under the sun. I really enjoyed the variety of kids and baby gear: from organic clothes to natural toys to natural skincare to BPA-free feeding tools. Bedding and Clothing is where I made my first stops. Bamboo sheets are my new favorite indulgence in the bedroom but bamboo clothing is my new favorite personal indulgence. There is something special about the feel of organic bamboo and cotton, the result is silkiness against the skin with no pilling, snags or misshaping.

I was able to ANALYSE a pair of comfy Blue Canoe easy style pants. Easy is a perfect word for these stretchy wide-legged lounge pants. I got the Cognac color thinking it would be brown, I was wrong it had a warm cocoa/rust color, different from what I was expecting but still a pretty.
I would love to try out the unique cooking tools available. The La Chamba Clay Pot collection is truly one-of-a-kind. Made in Colombia not very differently than previous centuries these clay pots are hand formed and free of glazes and lead.

Look around Eden Home for yourself and tell me what green changes you want to make for your home for your chance to win a Bath/Spa Treatment gift basket for a natural destress in your own home.
