Our weekend was spent “down the shore” thanks to Rob’s participation in Bike MS City to Shore. We greeted him at the finish line and immediately headed to the beach. The weather was gorgeous; the sun was shining and there was a great breeze as we got closer and closer to the boardwalk. I figured the water would be too cold this time of year but brought the sand toys for the kids to play and build and dig.
It only took Shaun a couple minutes and he was in the surf. The day was perfect.
A Perfect Beach Day
a beach day on Isla Roatan, Honduras
Yesterday by far was the best day we’ve had on the Dream so far.. Our port was Isla Roatan, Honduras. We made our way easily to Mahogany Beach, a quick 10 minute walk. The water was beautiful blue, the sands were silky white and the beach chairs were plentiful!
We rented a clamshell hut but ended up not really using ut as we spend hours in the water. We took a break to have a snack and some drinks at Fat Tuesday but immediately headed back into the water. The kids loved the calm waters and exploring in the sand for shells and rocks. We noticed people pulling Conch shells out of the deeper end but had no luck in getting one ourselves. This beach is my absolute favorite; if it ever expands to a resort area I’m coming back.
We also got a little VIP treatment on the boat. We were give a private tour of the bridge and got to meet some of the captains crew. This was so incredible to see, the size of the bridge alone took our breath away. I was expecting something much smaller but this was set up to comfort all the way.
We learned a lot of interesting facts about the ship and the function of it. To even become a captain takes about 7 years of education and training.
I can’t believe we only have 2 more nights left. Looks like we might be booking a cruise next year for our 10 year anniversary!
Thank you to Carnival for providing the complimentary 7-day cruise as part of their Mom-bassador Program. All opinions and descriptions presented belong solely to LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! and were not influenced in anyway by anyone.
Heading To The Beach For The Weekend
Where we are going has a huge pool and water park for the kids so we will definitely be having a great time. Melinda’s best friend and her husband and kids are coming so we plan on having a camp fire and some smores and just swimming and relaxing.
See everyone again on Sunday afternoon or maybe Monday depending on how tired we are from the weekend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
My Perfect Mother’s Day would be……
lying on a chaise lounge watching the kids frolic in the sand and surf with a fruity drink in my hand
In a perfect world my perfect Mother’s Day would be a surprise trip to Hawaii for 2 weeks where our plans consisted of pure indulgent laziness with an occasional excursion and massage thrown in. This dream is free of time commitments and financial burden so I’m free to imagine anything I want.
In reality I expect breakfast and a day of hanging around the house, maybe some yard work, flowers and handmade cards. Not a complaint from me at all. This is my life, the life I choose, the life I wouldn’t trade.
I’m a mom, I don’t know anything else. I have friends and family and the blog and other hobbies but mommyhood comes first. If given the chance to give it all up and do something else without any guilt I wouldn’t. What else is there? I suppose I could answer with securing a promising career or traveling the world first but without my babies what is the point.
I’m not the best mom in the world hell sometimes I’m not the best mom I could be but I embrace it completely and don’t regret a single moment, a single decision and single tear or a single gray hair.
