Sabreena wasn’t even born when this movie originally came out but like most other Disney movies this one became a favorite. We even own The Lion King 2, Simba’s Pride and The Lion King 1 ½. The recent release of The Lion King on Blu-Ray is exciting and has given this classic a new life. Shae is now walking around the house singing “I Just Can’t Wait to be King”.

One of Sabreenas favorite movies

In 2004 Disney and Pixar released one of my favorite children’s movies of all time: The Incredibles. Now they are releasing it all over again, but this time in Blu-ray. The disk now comes with all new special features including, Paths To Pixar: Story Artists which showcases multiple Pixar story artists, giving viewers exciting insight into their work, their inspiration and the personal paths that eventually led them to a career at Pixar and also “The New Nomanisan” Island Redevelopment Plan, which is a guided tour of Nomanisan Island, post-Syndrome, pitching the island as a vacation resort paradise. The DVD in the combo pack also includes all of the old features like the short film “Jack-Jack Attack” and the animated short “Boundin’.”

This movie follows Bob Parr and his family of superheroes who are forced into hiding after a little incident with a man who didn’t want to be saved. After a series of outrageous circumstances, including Mr. Parr throwing a man through a few walls, Bob has to find another line of work and is recruited by a mysterious platinum blonde woman named Mirage to stop a rouge robot on a private island. Even more hilarity ensues when Mrs. Parr finds out about Bob’s lies and goes to this island to find him.

That’s when the plot twists and everything changes for this family. At the end they learn to work together and to not be scared or ashamed of what makes them different. I think the reason I love this movie so much is because of its originality and unique story and characters. Each character in lovable, even the evil ones.

This story made me want superpowers and a giant robot that could attack me so I could show them off.

Jennifer Aniston in the Switch

I’m a sucker for chick-flick especially if the queen of chick-flicks; Jennifer Aniston will be onscreen.

Kassie (Aniston) is a smart, fun-loving single woman who, despite her neurotic best friend Wally’s (Bateman) objections, decides it’s time to have a baby – even if it means doing it herself…with a little help from a charming sperm donor (Wilson). But, unbeknownst to her, Kassie’s plans go awry because of a last-minute switch that isn’t discovered until seven years later…when Wally gets acquainted with Kassie’s cute – though slightly neurotic – son.

Jennifer plays this role really well. You want to reach out and embrace Kassie and be friends and share your secrets with her. As usual; her character is witty and charming. The support cast is comical also, provided some expected laughs but also some originals.
The Switch was released March 15th on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

Bambi Diamond Edition release March 1, 2011

Bambi is coming out of the vault, March 1, 2011!  The Diamond Edition debut of BAMBI, Walt’s fifth full-length animated classic, is a heartwarming story about a young deer that quickly learns the lessons of life: love, friendship, loss and heartbreak.

It’s been many years since watching Bambi, in fact I don’t think I even remember the entire story.  This is going to be a Friday movie night pick with the kids. We are slowly replacing all of our DVDs with the Blu-Ray/DVD combos.  The Disney classics are the 1st on the list and I’m excited to introduce Bambi to the kids. The new BAMBI Diamond Edition will be available as a 2-Disc Disney Combo Pack, a High Definition Movie Download and a Standard Definition Movie Download. For those wanting it in standard definition DVD version you’ll have to wait until April 19, 2011. Disney’s new “Second Screen” technology, which is being introduced for the very first time on the BAMBI Diamond Edition release, will further transform the at-home movie watching experience by empowering viewers with the ability to engage with film content on multiple media platforms and bring them to life in their own hands at the touch of a button


For those getting the 2-Disc Combo Pack you’ll have access to fun games and activities as well as never before seen deleted scenes and a song; Twitterpated.  Bambi is 69 years old, it was intended to be Disney’s second full-length animated film after “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” but took 6 years to complete. It is one of Disney’s most beloved classics and its shelf life is limited so get it now before it gets locked up again.
