Summer Party: EyesCreamShades

My nephew, niece, sister and dad all have corneal dystrophy. I don’t understand too much of the disease itself. All I know is that it impairs vision as the cornea no longer is “clear”. It is painful and requires a corneal transplant as it progresses.

So, I’ve always been sensitive to my family’s eye condition – and the requisite care that we should give our eyes. One simple thing we can do is wear sunglasses. It won’t stop corneal dystrophy, which is not preventable. But sunglasses can help decrease eye disorders that are caused by overexposure to UV rays. This includes photokeratitis, cataracts, macular degeneration, pterygium and skin cancer around the eyelids. And, just like skin damage, most eye damage occurs before the age of 8.

So, next time you grab sunglasses for yourself, pop some on your child, as well. And you can get some awesome shades from EyesCreamShades.com!

EyesCreamShades are designed for kids, with tough polycarnbonate lenses and blocking up to 100% of harmful UVA and UVB radiation.

I wish they made these for grown-ups! Because EyesCreamShades don’t come in colors – they come in FLAVORS. My sons had the opportunity to try out three pairs Licorice, Grape Ice and Ocean Ice. (My little one is wearing Ocean Ice in the top picture). It’s hard to say which I favored more – or which one they loved more. At ages 1 and 3, they do like to mimic each other and us – so it’s easy to get them to WANT to wear them. Often the boys take them out of my diaper bag on their own.

The Licorice had a rubber black frame and was sized small. This would easily fit little ones – tiny toddlers and babies. I think it was just a tad too small for my 1 year old. But goodness, both boys looked real snazzy in the Grape and Ocean Ice. The glasses fit their faces perfectly. The Ocean Ice lens had an orange lens and a blue to clear gradient frame. The Grape had a purple to clear gradient frame and dark lens. They were sized “large” and fit my boys real well. Just so you know, my 1 year old is in the 95th percentile for his age (his head is in the 50th) and my 3 year old is in the 10th percentile for his age (his head is also in the 50th). So, my boys are pretty much the same size – but these “large” glasses fit great.

Overall, I think these are great glasses for kids. And I have to say they stand up to wear and tear better than the $5 glasses I bought for my oldest at the store last year. The screws are always coming out on that pair! The quality of EyesCreamShades is undeniable! They cost around $34.99.

Winner Chosen: Coco Bonbons Evaluation

I follow on Twitter and tweeted~

One of the greatest things about having young kids is the sweet clothing that can be found. Dressing my kids in innocent and endearing clothing makes me feel like they will stay little forever.

Coco Bonbons is a clothing line produces high quality, whimsical and unique clothing for children. I fell in love with the details at first; buttons, ribbons, appliqués and of course CUPCAKES. I have a love of cupcakes and Coco Bonbons just sucked me in with their Josie collection, so of course that is what I picked out for Shae. I was shocked to find items in Shaun’s size though; he is an extremely tall boy. It’s hard to find boyish clothes for a 6 year old who looks like an 8 year old. Their Clark collection was a perfect fit for his cool style but innocent age.

Coco Bonbons was started by Coco Kyriopoulos, mom to Charlie and Phoebe. After a 12 year career in the corporate world Coco made the jump to kidswear. With her love of children as her inspiration each exceptional design is named for a special child in her life, her own and her friend’s children.

Win a gorgeous outfit from Coco Bonbons for your little one. Visit their online shop and tell me your favorite Spring 09 collection and size needed.

My Plate-Mate Kitchen Gadget

I’ve found a cool kitchen gadget but it’s not for me. My Plate-Mate is a unique spill guard to aid in children’s self-feeding and independence. It’s intended to prevent messy spills on the table and on children making meal-time clean-up a cinch. With a gentle stretch this rigid rim fit right on her favorite character plate. Shae is wonderful at eating yogurt on her own and stabbing chicken chunks with her fork but she still has troubles with things like rice, veggies and beans. She also hates messes so when food ends up on her hands and clothes she has a little fit. My Plate-Mate allowed her to scoop up cheese raviolis and green beans and eat completely on her own. She ate a bit quicker than usual also, I’m guessing because she didn’t struggle the way she normally does at meal time.

My Plate-Mate is made in the USA and free of lead, phthalates, PVC, polycarbonates and BPA. Additional features include compact size for easy transporting and dishwasher safe for simple clean-up. Created by moms, Michele and Paige, My Plate-Mate was designed with their children in mind. After many years in the workforce and mommyhood they found themselves wanting more. My Plate-Mate was the result of the desire to make their lives and the lives of parents around the world easier. Within 6 months of introduction My Plate-Mate was being sold in nearly 100 retailers across the country and can now be found in Australia, UK and Canada. My Plate-Mate has filled an unmet market and continues to grow and be recognized as a unique and successful design.

Do you want to win your own My Plate-Mate? LookWhatMomFound readers can enter to win a white one for their own kiddos.

Mandatory Entry: Visit My Plate-Mate and come back and let me know who would benefit from My Plate-Mate.

Extra Entries: the Mandatory entry must be followed first

Contest ends 11:59 EST, Thursday May 7, 2009. If your entries do not follow the rules they will not be eligible to win. This contest is open to US and Canada. Winner Chosen: Baby Eggi Solution

oona., May 4, 2009 11:24 PM 126
I signed up for the newsletter and would love to surprise my 3 year old nephew with some sweet, soft clothes from Baby Eggi!
Thanks! foxsquirrelrabbit at gmail dot com

Are you looking for clothing for your babies and toddlers that are more than just unique and stylish? Do you want to buy from a company with a conscience? Baby Eggi is committed to creating a better environment for our children to grow. Not only do they design the cutest apparel for little ones they aid charity organizations dedicated to support the child of today and tomorrow.

When I opened the gift pack from Baby Eggi I literally squealed with delight. The colors were brilliant and the designs were one-of-a-kind. Shae received 2 adorable dresses, one of which she wore for our Easter Egg Hunt (this picture doesn’t do it justice) and my 3 year old buddy Marco received 2 tees that he LOVED. The colors looked so good on him and he thought the T-Rex was way cool!

Founders (and sisters), Jennifer and Julie come from high-demand and high-stress backgrounds in fundraising and fashion. Using their children and the desire to work together they teamed up and Baby Eggi was hatched. They knew they wanted to do more than design clothing though. Working with Artists for a New South Africa and Kids Courage Foundation, both non-profit organizations, Baby Eggi donates 20% of their net proceeds to these children’s charities. With prices ranging from $12-$36 and always cute things on sale this is a designer line that is reachable for all not just their celebrity client line up.

Renowned tattoo artist Mark Mahoney has brought his artistry into Baby Eggi with his detailed designs. His work can only be seen on the skin of Angelina Jolie, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp and many others. This is Mark’s first venture into children’s fashion and I must say he’s doing a really good job. The images are cheerful and expressive but not infantile like some other children’s wear.

Do you love Baby Eggi as much as I do? Want to win some goodies for yourself? Baby Eggi is giving a LookWhatMomFound reader a fabulous gift pack of clothing your little one.

Mandatory Entry: Visit Baby Eggi and sign up for their e-newsletter (top right hand corner). Come back, tell me you did that and ALSO tell me who you want to win this amazing prize for include gender and size.

Winner Chosen: Little Fit Recap

Tweet:http://twitter.com/ccmouse/status/1464502589
Thank you for the opportunity to win:)

(emailing you now Pam, thanks for entering)

I’ve found the most rockin’ product for little ones, Little Fit. If you are like me you are always looking for cool stuff for the kids. Little Fit makes the cutest trucker and baseball flex hats. They come embroidered and embellished and screen printed and blank. Whatever your style you will find something to LOVE.

Here is Shae in her Butterfly embroidered hat. It’s pink and girly like her but also very Rock & Roll. It has the most precious rhinestone embellishment she points at and says “pretty”. She tilts it to the side and wears it backward and pull it over her eyes. She got the “big” size, 18 months-4/5 years and it fits great with plenty of room to grow. She manhandles everything and this hat is no different. It is withstanding stuffing in the toybox, stepping all over it and tug-a-war with other toddlers. It still looks great, the workmanship and quality if superb and I look forward to years of wearing.
“There seemed to be a real shortage of high quality, “cool” hats that actually fit our toddler’s head. Like most parents, we’ve had lots of ideas about improving children’s products and decided to run with this one. So we went to see a man about some hats and… Little Fit was born.”
Did you think I would just show you something so stinkin’ adorable and not share the love. Little Fit is giving one of my readers a hat of their very own.

MANDATORY ENTRY:Visit Little Fit and take a look at all the great hats, come back and leave me a comment letting me know which hat you would pick. (non-bloggers are welcome to enter. Be Sure To Leave a Valid Email Address)
