Stride Rite Shoes Recap

I remember Sabreena’s, Shaun’s and Shae’s first steps. It’s an overwhelming and joyous moment. I specifically remember than they were not wearing shoes, barefoot is best for babies. But what about those times when shoes are necessary like when it’s time to leave the house.

Stride Rite has been in the baby, toddler and kid shoe business for 85 years. With that kind of longevity they must be doing something right. Stride Rite realizes that shoes not only have to look good but they have to fit and be tough enough to withstand the rigorous demands of little moving feet. After some extensive research with New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery Stride Rite has develop the SRT collection, a line of shoes designed to improve the way a baby learns to walk via a sensory feedback system, a flexible design that allows for more freedom of movement, and a unique construction that reduces stumbles and falls.

Shae is past the beginning walking stage but Stride Rite is still is a great choice for toddler feet. Toddler Tech, the next step up, is a collection of shoes made from light weight materials, deep flexible grooves for stability and mobility and an airbag in the heel for shock absorption for comfort. Shae has been wearing her Sydney Fall shoes since they arrived a couple weeks back. They fit is great, the style is cool and the colors are fantastic for the fall season. With it’s Velcro strap Shae is able to put these on herself and the open top allows her to show off cute patterned socks.

Stride Rite wants to give LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! readers the chance to win a pair SRT shoes for their own little one(you are able to pick the size and gender but shoe style will be up to the sponsor). Visit Stride Rite and tell what shoes you would love to have for your own child.

Dan Zanes THE FINE FRIENDS ARE HERE!

Kids music can be really irritating sometimes with its puppet voices, lack of imagination in lyrics or absence of real music. Dan Zanes and Friends’ is a rare gem in the world of children’s music. This group of real musicians, artists, singers and entertainers has put together a new music video DVD, THE FINE FRIENDS ARE HERE! of old favorites plus a release of some new tunes. This DVD/CD combo was released September 22nd.

The Fine Friends Are Here! is Zanes and Friends’ first DVD in over four years. The DVD showcases what the band’s trademark rollicking concerts are all about and allows kids and fans alike to participate in the wildly popular and regularly sold out experience. This concert performance of the band’s favorite songs was shot on location at The Jalopy Theatre in Red Hook, Brooklyn this past winter and features well-known songs from across the Zanes and Friends catalog including “Let’s Shake,” “Wabash Cannonball,” “El Canario” and “Catch That Train!,” among others. Two special guests join the band at the show: spoken word artist Caridad de la Luz a.k.a. La Bruja raps on “The Welcome Table” and is featured in the video for “Pollito Chicken” while break dancer David Alan a.k.a. Cyclone appears on “Jump Up” and “Walking the Dog.” The DVD also contains three new music videos for the songs “Wonder Wheel,” “Pollito Chicken” and “Night Owl.”

You might recognize Zanes from popular kids shows like Sesame Street, Playhouse Disney and Noggin but Zanes’ and Friends fame reaches much farther. They have achieved acclaim in London, Australia, Spain and Bahrain. The fame started simply, handing out cassettes (what are those LOL) in a neighborhood park in New York City. It was all about introducing people to this “new sound”, but the sound wasn’t exactly new just different from what parents were used to. Using the world as inspiration Zanes’ and Friends blend the cultures they love with the talent they possess to create a mix that is not only a relief to listen to but ultra-fun to watch, have you seen Zanes’ suits and hair!

Catch a show and see for yourself how entertaining, imaginative and original children’t music can be.

ChicBuds Swarovski Ear Buds Recapitulation

With all the technology in this house it’s surprising to realize I received my first iPod a couple months ago. It’s a cute black nano, sleek and shiny with these ugly blah white ear buds. Whose idea was it to supply ALL iPods with the same boring white ear buds. I knew I needed to switch things up a bit.

chicBuds was the exact thing I needed to personalize and spice up my simple mp3 player. Apple Swarovski Crystals give them the perfect amount of sparkle and glitz without being over the top. chicbuds aren’t just simple ear buds though; the sound quality is great, clear music without static or breaking up. They’re 2nd best feature is the retractable mechanism that keeps the wires from getting tangled up during walking, running or even storing in your purse. Pull apart both the ear buds and connector at the same time to give you just the right amount of movement. The belt clip works at keeping the buds from falling to the ground when not in use or preventing falls of your device. If you aren’t into the studded bling other choices include Rockbuds, a collection perfect for men or those wanting a bit less glam. chicBuds as well as Rockbuds are not only totally fashionable and eye-catching but they are much more practical than those “other” ear buds plus they are compatible with many listening devices not just iPod.

ChicBlvd was started in 2004 and is a women-owned multi-media company. ChicBlvd is made up of 3 divisions; an online magazine (ChicBlvd.com), product development division (chicBuds.com) and a Public Relations firm (ChicExecs.com). chicBuds was launched in 2006 as a sweet treat for your ears. Since then they have received TONs of positive feedback and endorsements from press, magazines, and celebrities. The line has been expanded to Pinktooth Wireless Headset, Techie Girl Kit and chicBuds Jr. for the younger fashionistas.

Win your own chicBuds right here! Visit Chic Blvd and sign up for ChicMail. Come back and tell me what chicBuds product would be the perfect gift for someone you love.

Edwards frozen desserts wants you to INDULGE

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life women often do not take time to treat themselves. Those little indulgences are what help us clear our heads, regroup and jump back into reality with a renewed energy. My indulgences are a solid hour of nonsense reality TV, pedicures, midnight snacks (more like 9PM when the kids are in bed) and shopping with no one rushing me.
The makers of Edwards® frozen desserts are hosting the “Simple Indulgences Spa Sweepstakes” on EdwardsBaking.com through October 9, 2009. Sign-up to receive a coupon for $1.00 off one package of Edwards® Singles Á La Modes desserts PLUS enter for a chance to WIN one of 10 $500 SpaFinder.com gift cards to treat yourself to a relaxing spa experience.

I got the chance to sample some of Edwards frozen desserts this weekend. Their Hot Fudge Brownie with Creamy ice Cream was my decadent indulgence of the week. A super moist brownie with creamy fudge and melty vanilla ice cream was a much needed finish to a stress filled week. From start to finish you can start enjoying your yummy dessert in about 2 minutes. Not a chocolate lover, their Hot Apple Crisp with Cream Ice Cream looks equally divine. Well worth the less than $2 cost (cost may vary) for 2 desserts once you use the coupon.

Indulgences don’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. Simplicity is the best way to unwind. Try to squeeze in some of these affordable and effortless ideas into your lifestyle.

  • Turn your back on technology, this means phones, computers, television and radio. We all need a time-out.
  • Hit the road. Take a walk or run or even a drive if you know of some beautiful countryside to look at instead of traffic signals and gridlock.
  • Let nature take its course. Visit the farmers market or florist and splurge on a bouquet of flowers for yourself. Have a backyard garden? Get in there and prune and trim and cherish the fruits of your labor.

Whatever you do to indulge do it without guilt and without consequence. A special thanks to Edwards for letting me indulge.

Paperspring Personalized Stationery

Hand written correspondence is a thing of the past. Invites, thank you’s, announcements and family updates are now done through email, text and social networks. Paperspring has recognized this growing problem and has introduced gorgeous collections of holiday cards, baby announcements, invitations, Digital Name Art and personal stationery. Sticky Stock is another product that Paperspring has launched. This innovative products allows you to “stick” a picture, calendar or sign to virtually any surface without risk of damaging that surface. Think cling film but BETTER!

I was given the opportunity to analyse personalized stationery. I chose the theme Orchid Charm. Heavyweight cardstock printed with beautiful blue orchids on brown branches arrived neatly tied with a dainty brown bow. I chose the note cards to give as a gift to someone who cherishes the art of written word. I’m sure she is going to love it.

Paperspring is Proud to be Green by doing their part in not just supporting environmental sustainability but following stringent measures put in place by the Forest Stewardship Council to be a certified printer. This verifies that all recycled paper products used contain materials from well-managed, sustainable forests. • Use of soy-based inks in all of our conventional offset printing

Paperspring is the “write” choice to share and celebrate those special moments in your life.

C. Belly Belts Recapitulation

Now that Shae is 2 we’ve started some potty training. Summer potty training was easy since she could run around in a diaper or dress but now that autumn is hitting pants are hindering our efforts. C. Belly Belts is the solution for those struggles. With its unique wrap around design these belts WILL fit your child.

The C.belly™ belt offers a unique open-front design with simple velcro closures. It does not cover the front of the belly so it never has to be removed when changing clothes or using the restroom. C.Belly Belts was designed by mom Lynn Crist from a need to prevent droopy drawers, aid in potty training and promote independence while getting dressed. The belts are manufactured in the USA and are made from durable cotton or nylon and finished with attractive grosgrain ribbon to withstand regular use over many years

The design is quite ingenious actually. The belt goes on like a regular belt, pulled through the loops. When the belt reaches the front it doesn’t buckle but actually folds back on itself and velcros shut. You’re left with an opening at the button or snap with the secure hold to hold up even pants that are sized up.

Shae is new to the jeans and khakis game. She was a stretchy pants girl due to her chubbiness. We recently purchased some cute jeans that finally fit over her thighs and booty but are a tad wide in the waist. C. Belly Belts now lets her wear her new fashions without threat of sliding down. C. Belly Belts has opened a whole new world in our household allowing Shae to have access to an entirely different wardrobe.

C. Belly Belts are available online for $12.99 each or a Value Pack of 2 for $20. Considering the length of time your child could use one it’s quite a good deal. And with so many cute colors, designs and patterns you can find belts to match any outfit for boys and girls.

C. Belly Belts wants to give LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! readers the chance to win 2 belts for their own little ones. Visit C. Belly Belts and tell your favorite 2 belt designs.

Kidorable gear and accessories Recapitulation

The weather around here lately is weird, rain in the morning and sun by lunch and rain again at night. We like to walk Shaun to the busstop but Shae doesn’t like her shoes to get wet, yes she’s prissy sometimes. How happy was she (and I) when she received these adorable Ladybug Rain Boots and matching Ladybug Backpack from Kidorable. And yes she wears both the boots and backpack to the bus stop even when it’s not raining.

Kidorable is an online boutique for kid’s raingear and fun accessories. Started in 1997 by Liping and Jonathan Domsky, they proclaimed, “The world needs someone to create children’s apparel and accessories that are both functional and fun. We can do that.” That first year was the introduction of umbrellas and hangers and each year they launch a new product line which brings them another year of success. In its first three years, Kidorable grew from a hopeful startup to a thriving business with $2 million in sales. Ever since, Kidorable has continued to blossom, evolving into a flourishing global enterprise, contributing to the success of dozens of sales professionals and thousands of retailers, with sales projected to exceed $10 million by 2010.

Every kid needs their very own umbrella for the rain. I remember buying Shaun a frog Kidorable umbrella on a rainy shopping trip. He was bummed he didn’t have his own umbrella so when we spotted it in a department store I knew it would make his day. While this was a couple years ago we still have it and he still has the urge to use it but at the ripe old age of six something more manly might be more appropriate. Shae is at the perfect age to carry an umbrella, dress in a raincoat wear rainboots and carry her backpack, all matching and all ridiculously adorable. The product line reaches far beyond raingear. Another one of my faves is the hooded towel, a great accessory for bath or beach! Take your pick from a variety of fun kids products like backpacks, mittens, scarves, embroidered tees, bookends and more, all designed to complement the theme and take your child from toddlerhood to preschool.

Win your own Kidorable umbrella right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit Kidorable and tell me another item that you love or think would make a great addition to their collection.

Eating Right Kids at Safeway

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Safeway, Inc. have teamed up to create a better-for-you line of food products for children, uniting flavor and nutrition with the iconic Looney Tunes characters.

Thanks to Team Mom and Safeway, Inc I was recently asked to review a lunchbag full of Eating Right Kids foods that included a a microwave ravioli meal, juice box, fruit cup and chewy bar. Juice isn’t something we often have in the house so Shaun was thrilled to have a “treat” and he really liked the fruit and chocolate chewy bar. The fruit cup went to Shae as a snack, she ate everything but left behind the cherry pieces until I told her what they were then she tilted her head back and sucked them down quickly. The raviolis weren’t very popular in this house, probably because we just don’t eat prepared foods like that. They weren’t bad just not something my kids are used to.

Eating Right isn’t new to us. We normally buy the waffles, carrots, bagged spinach and cereal bars. The kids Wheatgrain waffles actually contain 3 grams of fiber per serving with just 4.5 grams of fat, coupled with milk and fresh fruit it makes a great healthy breakfast. My kids and Rob like peanut butter on their waffles so that just gives them a great protein and healthy fat boost for a great start to the day.

Convenience foods don’t have to be full of trans fats, salt and excess calories. Safeway, Inc along with Eating Right and Eating Right Kids are helping families make affordable smart choices that taste good. With over 60 items to choose from just in the kids line there are definitely going to be things that every family enjoys.

Cool Sets Pajamas for Women

Cool Sets have just become my go to jammies; replacing my normal flannel pants and tees/tanks. Made from material called CoolBalance which is similar to athletic-wear, Cool Sets are comfy, silky-soft and moisture-wicking. These pieces are perfect for those living in hot climates, adjusting to changing seasons and especially for women suffering from hot flashes due to menopause or other medical related issues.

My Capri Pants and Tank Top have been keeping me cool the past couple weeks while we sleep with the windows open. The tank top has feminine embroidery detailing at the neckline plunge and since it doesn’t have a sleepwear look it’s appropriate for outside of the house. If I had gotten a smaller size this would have looked great under a jacket or sweater with jeans. The capris have a smooth wide waist band, no drawstrings or buttons to deal with. I’m definitely asking for another set for the holidays, maybe the Plunge Nightgown.

Cool Sets is a fun & flirty line of moisture wicking sleepwear and loungewear invented for women just like you and me with sizes small to 3X. We all want to look and feel good and that should have to stop when it’s time for bed. Cool Sets has paid special attention to the details, like perfect draping on our bodies, delicate lace trim and feminine embroidery. Snap front tops are also available so nursing mothers aren’t exposing every ounce of skin.

As a proud supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Denver Region Cool Sets offers participants in various programs discounted Cool Sets products plus donates a portion of those sales back to the American Cancer Society.

Cool Sets can be purchased at their online store plus at various quality retailers across the United States and internet catalogs. Become a Facebook fan and receive 15% off your entire online purchase.
