Winner Chosen: The Safe Sippy

We started a compost pile and since I found out bpa is in cans, I am buying more fresh or frozen foods.

saywah_j@yahoo.com

Apparently I did all the wrong things with my first 2 kids: they used bottles till they were 2 years old, they ate fast food and they watched too much television. I’m hoping I’m doing a little better job this time around.

I now consider myself a pretty “green” parent and raising all of my kids healthier and smarter. We all now know of the dangers of BPA and toxins coming in contact with our food and drinks and affecting the health of our children. With this new information we made crucial changes in our lives. Introducing The Safe Sippy from Kid Basix was a safe and smart switch.

When The Safe Sippy first came in I was put off a little by its size, Shae drinks A LOT of water so I worried about having to refill it often but I haven’t really noticed a problem; maybe the shape is just a little deceiving since it holds 11ounces. You will notice that the mouthpiece is plastic but have no fear, it is constructed of plastic certified free of BPA, phthalates and DEHA. While we don’t need them I noticed the handles will provide a helpful hold for younger toddlers, even older babies. I haven’t experienced leaks, the valve has a pretty tight fit so far. There is a silicone seal in the lid that can move around or fall off which can cause the lid not to fit properly so I check that often. So far I’m very impressed with the construction of The Safe Sippy. Shae really likes it too; she calls it her cold cup since the stainless steel is cool to the touch when I fill it with ice water.

The Safe Sippy is giving you guys the chance to win a 3-pack for your little ones.

VISIT TheSafeSippy and then tell me what “green” changes you are making in your eating/drinking habits!

I have a love/hate relationship with Summer. I love vacations, beaches, warm weather and swimming but I hate wearing a swimsuit. I’m conscious of the bumps and ripples and jiggles and really hate that they are exposed in a bathing suit. SlimPerfect has fixed that for me.

SlimPerfect is a line of slimming swimwear and activewear created by a woman for a woman. All SlimPerfect separates are designed using state of the art fabric that holds in the rolls tucks in the flab and overall forms the right curves. The pieces aren’t just meant for swimwear either. The entire collection can be found in the gym, on the boat, on the tennis courts or on the pool deck. Comfort and style were first in mind with Casey Kurutz designed SlimPerfect. She wanted the coverage and fit without compromising fashion. With a full collection that includes SlimDresses, Capris, Tankini & Bikini tops, SlimSkorts and SlimSkirts there is something for every woman out there sized 8-18.

When I received my Tankini and SlimSkirt I immediately tried it on. The Tankini really stopped all the movement and flattened my belly. The SlimSkirt covered enough booty while still resembling a swimsuit. I’m going to be confident chasing a toddler this summer and keeping up with the older kids. The Tankini top is going to be especially great this season, I’m not going to have to worry about pulled down straps or exposed boobs (yes that is something I’ve had to worry about in the past). SlimPerfect is constructed to be flattering and sexy but stay-put on your body. I would recommend taking measurements and if you are in-between sizes, sizing up. I sized up on my Tankini and I’m glad I did, any smaller wouldn’t have been comfortable and wouldn’t have given me the room for the girls.

WIN

SlimPerfect is offering my readers the chance to win a complete suit of their own. You get to choose a SlimDress or 2 separates (top and bottom).

NEW Winner Chosen….SKLZ Sport-Brella Father’s Day Giveaway

I’ve mentioned how fanatical we are about sun care. We slather on sunscreen, wear hats, wear sun protection swimwear and lug umbrellas to the beach. Last year we brought this HUGE tent that needed poles and weights, it wasn’t even meant for the sun, it was the kids play tent. Shae sat in it but it wasn’t really protecting her from anything but the sand.

This year I was sent an angel! SKLZ sent me an amazing Sport-Brella. The Sports-Brella offers almost instant shade from sun, rain and wind with UPF 50+, blocking 99.5% of UVA & UVB rays. With its side flaps opened up this is going to give about 7’ of coverage. A perfect size for a family that totes coolers and chairs, no more threat of things getting too warm, especially the kids. Included are several stakes and tethers to help in the wind or to stand up for top coverage in the rain. Coming in its’ own sleeve it was easy to carry around.

Here are the full features in case I missed something.
• Protection from sun, wind and rain
• Easiest setup shelter available thanks to umbrella action
• Rugged umbrella structure with side flaps for full cover protection
• Top wind vents and side zippered windows for efficient airflow
• Maximum sun protection UPF 50+ and water repellent
• Protects over 99.5% of UVA and UVB rays
• Internal pockets for stakes, valuables and gear
• Includes convenient carry bag plus tethers and ground stakes for extra stability

I took this out in the front yard and put it up by myself. It took me about 5 minutes to fully assemble, not bad for the first time. I mentioned the carry pouch, I expected it to be too long for me but even at 5’4” it didn’t scrape the ground once. The stakes and tethers come in their own little drawstring pouch so no worries about losing the smaller pieces. As you can see Rob has plenty of clearance under it with an Adirondack style chair. This is going to be perfect for the beach and Shaun’s soccer games. Heck I might even set it up in the backyard for bbqs for a little extra shade over the kids table.

SKLZ is your go-to place for everything sports related. If I hadn’t already planned out Rob’s Father’s Day gift we would be getting this Badminton set. SKLZ carries a wide selection of training and practice equipment for sports. With celebrity athletes such as Derek Jeter, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova using SKLZ equipment you know you’re getting quality construction and materials. Starting out with baseball and softball trainers they have expanded into Lacrosse, Golf and Soccer. SKLZ can be explained by one simple phrase: Practice-Play-Win.

I am so excited to tell you that SKLZ is giving a Sport-Brella (retail value of $69.99) to one of my readers. Coming just in time for Father’s Day this would be perfect for sports events, concerts, coaching and so much more.
VISIT SKLZStore and sign up for email updates. Come back and tell me you did and also what other products would make for a perfect Father’s Day gift.

My Plate-Mate Kitchen Gadget

I’ve found a cool kitchen gadget but it’s not for me. My Plate-Mate is a unique spill guard to aid in children’s self-feeding and independence. It’s intended to prevent messy spills on the table and on children making meal-time clean-up a cinch. With a gentle stretch this rigid rim fit right on her favorite character plate. Shae is wonderful at eating yogurt on her own and stabbing chicken chunks with her fork but she still has troubles with things like rice, veggies and beans. She also hates messes so when food ends up on her hands and clothes she has a little fit. My Plate-Mate allowed her to scoop up cheese raviolis and green beans and eat completely on her own. She ate a bit quicker than usual also, I’m guessing because she didn’t struggle the way she normally does at meal time.

My Plate-Mate is made in the USA and free of lead, phthalates, PVC, polycarbonates and BPA. Additional features include compact size for easy transporting and dishwasher safe for simple clean-up. Created by moms, Michele and Paige, My Plate-Mate was designed with their children in mind. After many years in the workforce and mommyhood they found themselves wanting more. My Plate-Mate was the result of the desire to make their lives and the lives of parents around the world easier. Within 6 months of introduction My Plate-Mate was being sold in nearly 100 retailers across the country and can now be found in Australia, UK and Canada. My Plate-Mate has filled an unmet market and continues to grow and be recognized as a unique and successful design.

Do you want to win your own My Plate-Mate? LookWhatMomFound readers can enter to win a white one for their own kiddos.

Mandatory Entry: Visit My Plate-Mate and come back and let me know who would benefit from My Plate-Mate.

Extra Entries: the Mandatory entry must be followed first

Winner Chosen: Baby Eggi Solution

oona., May 4, 2009 11:24 PM 126
I signed up for the newsletter and would love to surprise my 3 year old nephew with some sweet, soft clothes from Baby Eggi!
Thanks! foxsquirrelrabbit at gmail dot com

Are you looking for clothing for your babies and toddlers that are more than just unique and stylish? Do you want to buy from a company with a conscience? Baby Eggi is committed to creating a better environment for our children to grow. Not only do they design the cutest apparel for little ones they aid charity organizations dedicated to support the child of today and tomorrow.

When I opened the gift pack from Baby Eggi I literally squealed with delight. The colors were brilliant and the designs were one-of-a-kind. Shae received 2 adorable dresses, one of which she wore for our Easter Egg Hunt (this picture doesn’t do it justice) and my 3 year old buddy Marco received 2 tees that he LOVED. The colors looked so good on him and he thought the T-Rex was way cool!

Founders (and sisters), Jennifer and Julie come from high-demand and high-stress backgrounds in fundraising and fashion. Using their children and the desire to work together they teamed up and Baby Eggi was hatched. They knew they wanted to do more than design clothing though. Working with Artists for a New South Africa and Kids Courage Foundation, both non-profit organizations, Baby Eggi donates 20% of their net proceeds to these children’s charities. With prices ranging from $12-$36 and always cute things on sale this is a designer line that is reachable for all not just their celebrity client line up.

Renowned tattoo artist Mark Mahoney has brought his artistry into Baby Eggi with his detailed designs. His work can only be seen on the skin of Angelina Jolie, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp and many others. This is Mark’s first venture into children’s fashion and I must say he’s doing a really good job. The images are cheerful and expressive but not infantile like some other children’s wear.

Do you love Baby Eggi as much as I do? Want to win some goodies for yourself? Baby Eggi is giving a LookWhatMomFound reader a fabulous gift pack of clothing your little one.

Mandatory Entry: Visit Baby Eggi and sign up for their e-newsletter (top right hand corner). Come back, tell me you did that and ALSO tell me who you want to win this amazing prize for include gender and size.
