[me] and goji Custom Cereal Recap

Breakfast is supposed to be the fuel to start your day. But today’s top breakfast cereal brands fail at providing quality nutrition, proper vitamins and minerals and adequate fiber and ingredients especially for those with special dietary needs and restrictions. A group of young men; Adam, Carl and Alexander dreamed up the solution; [me] & goji.
[me] & goji is simply a custom cereal & granola company. I say simply because when you start looking through the ingredients it really is a simple and healthy and unique idea that should’ve been obvious to cereal makers all along. With over 60 all-natural and organic ingredients to choose from the mixes are endless. If you aren’t too creative or aren’t too sure what flavors will match well you can select from one of their own favorite blends.

The process is easy though to choose your own mix. Start with your base (flakes, hoops, granola, etc) add your dried fruits and nuts and then the best part, customize your box. I was able to get 3 customized containers of cereal for the kids. For Shaun’s and Shae’s I added super cute pictures of them and fun titles. My kids reach for [me] & goji as an afternoon snack and yogurt mix-in.

What I really appreciate about [me] & goji is it offers so many options. Whether you’re a health nut or wanna be you can mix a nutritious and tasty meal while feeling good about putting good stuff into your body. [me] & goji offers options for those who suffer from Celiac Disease, IBS and other digestive and diet needs. You don’t need to have a medical reason to enjoy a quality, healthy, green cereal.

Visit [me] & goji to learn about the efforts they are putting forth to create a healthier workplace, a sustainable business and a greener environment. Win your own customize cereal from [me] & goji by telling me what ingredients you would choose.

Join ConAgra Foods to Fight Child Hunger & Basket Giveaway-CLOSED

Hopefully you are all aware that I’ve been working with ConAgra Foods on their Child Hunger Ends Here campaign. The focus of the campaign is to of course raise money for Feeding America but more importantly to raise awareness of the growing problem that is plaguing our nation: our children are hungry. My goal for this campaign is to bring the community together in a couple ways. Here are my ideas that are in the works.

  • Ask local movie theater to donate proceeds of 1 movie showing to Feeding America
  • A penny drive at the local elementary school
  • A car wash at the local middle school
  • Host a table at flea market where all sale proceeds will be donated

This campaign doesn’t start and end just with the blogger participants. Anyone can host their own neighborhood rally or get together. Host a dinner party and let your friends know that for each participating ConAgra Foods product you purchased for that meal $1 was donated to FeedingAmerica.org. You can also simply host a bake sale or flower bulb sale or food drive at your local church or community center. ConAgra Foods will even help you promote your activity with a toolkit. Register your rally and ConAgra will send you the tools along with tips and ideas to make it a success. Remember, whatever you can do will make a difference.
Next week I will be heading to Los Angeles, California for a phenomenal event hosted by ConAgra Foods where all the blogger participants and I will be visiting a local Food Bank and visiting the set of Desperate Housewives. Dana Delaney is the spokesperson for Child Hunger Ends Here and Wisteria Lane is the backdrop for the opening neighborhood rally. I will bring back tons of pics and details about the event and I hope to hear back from you all about what you can do in your own neighborhoods.

ConAgra Foods wants you to share this information with your friends, family, neighbors, community, teachers, clergy, business owners and everyone else you see. Host an event/rally/dinner/sale of your own by April 28th and you can enter to win a fabulous gift basket filled with goodies, coupons, Desperate Housewives season 4 and much more.  Leave me a comment and tell me all about your event.

Juice Box Heroes – No Sugar Added CD Recap

The 80’s were a time when music was simple and easy and the artists are still remembered to this day. Just in case you forgot or are trying to block out the 80’s here are a few artists I remember vividly: George Michael, Rick Springfield, Twisted Sister and Cyndi Lauper. There is an awesome band called Juice Box Heroes that plays these 80’s artists with a kids twist.

Juice Box Heroes brothers Craig and Scott Coane both played in 80’s bands in college and after college they started their own 80’s band. After becoming dads Craig and Scott realized playing in bars until 2 a.m. and then having to wake up for that 5 a.m. bottle feeding wasn’t going to work and they realized something needed to change. Enter Juice Box Heroes.

Heralded as “song favorites for parents, fun new lyrics for kids”, Juice Box Heroes takes the very best songs from the past and parodies them for young kids. Their debut album “No Sugar Added” is now available at juiceboxeheroes.com.

When we received this CD for analyse Shaun and I were pretty excited because we love music and Shaun loves to listen to music every night at bedtime. What caught my eye was the catchy titles to old 80’s classics like “Puppy’s Fur” which is a parody of Rick Springfield’s Jessie’s Girl. No Sugar Added is filled with awesome songs that you and your kids will love listening to.

This CD is so good Shaun has listened to it every night at bed time since we received it and he is a pain when it comes to music so that is how I know it is good. Every night when I put Shaun to bed I ask him what CD he wants to listen to and he tells me “Dad, the same one I listen to every night, Juice Box Heroes”. This is my story and I’m stickin to it.

Want a Juice Box Heroes CD of your own for you and your kids to enjoy?  Two lucky Look What Mom Found…and Dad too! readers will get this terrific CD.  Go to Juice Box Heroes and sign up to be a member of the fan club.  This is the mandatory entry.

Summer Party: No Throw sippy strap

Your strolling along the boardwalk and everything is great is until your toddler starts flippin out about wanting a drink. You peek down and see that his cup is missing. You’ve just walked 10 blocks there is no way you are going to find it now. How many times has this happened to you? What happens to me on a daily basis is I gather the kids and everyone’s cups including my own. The kids are in the wagon and my water bottle is in the cup holder and all the sippys are in the diaperbag. My waterbottle gets tossed overboard.
What is it about throwing things out of the stroller or off the highchair that amuses kids so much.
Twin sisters, and moms, Karla and Karen invented No Throws out of necessity. When Karla moved out of state this forced the sisters to travel more often to visit each other. This meant more time in the car and on planes with their children. After a particularly difficult and embarrassing situation on a flight, Karla knew there had to be a better way to handle this. No Throw was born.

Here is Shae with her Orange with Butterflies No Throw around her Safe Sippy. It fits easily in the stroller frame but is short enough that there is no threat of the cup touching the ground and getting dirty.

It’s quite simple actually; loop the longer strap around the highchair, carseat strap, stroller strap or snack tray, wagon or anything else. Then wrap and close the other end to your child’s cup or bottle or toy. They can now throw to their heart’s content but it’s not going anywhere.

Summer Party: LTDchix

LTD Chix was founded in 2006 by two moms and the company is devoted to producing alternative and fun wear for families. LTD Chix recently launched “Living The Dream,” a new line of custom t-shirts designed exclusively for modern moms with a sense of humor!

The shirts are 100% cotton and feature a wide variety of tongue-in-cheek illustrations depicting the daily trials of today’s mom.

I received the Laundry Shirt. I have no idea how my family goes through so many clothes in a day, maybe it is because they are all male and like to get dirty ! So the Laundry Shirt is perfect for me ! I always wear t-shirts, what a great way to show mommy pride ! When it come’s to being a mother, who doesn’t love a little humor or sarcasm.

From their site : “Funny how the bigger kids get, the bigger their clothes become and the more laundry you have to do. Sometimes you feel like you can never catch up — but it’s better than finding your little one fishing for socks in the hamper. And who doesn’t love the fresh smell of clean laundry, right? Right! ”

The shirt fit was great ! The material is a thinner material and is perfect for those warm spring and summer days. The shirt washed up amazing and looks the same as it did when it arrived even after a few washing.

A few of the other shirts that caught my eye were the Cleaning Mom, Multi – Tasking Mom and especially with my boys the Referee Mom shirt.

You can order from the LTD Chix online site. For a limited time til mothers day the great LTD Chix tees are being shipped free.

sam94son05@sbcglobal.net

Mother’s Day is around the corner. Do you know what you are getting that special woman in your life? I don’t! I honestly haven’t even thought about it.

One of the most popular Mother’s Day gifts is jewelry. I love jewelry but I really love meaningful jewelry. I currently wear my diamond wedding band along with a diamond band my father bought for me many years ago. I also wear 3 other bands, one for each of my children. I have pendants that represent different things and a bracelet from my best friend and one that my son made me. As long as it holds a meaning I will wear it.

Little Jewel is the place to get special items for the women you love. Celebrate Motherhood with a gorgeous Couture Collection White Gold and Diamond 3D boy charm or a classic White Gold Locket. Maybe you need a unique baby gift, how about baby’s first Diamond Studs or a Gold ID Bracelet. These are just a few of the many choices that Little Jewel offers. From traditional to trendy from modest to glitzy, Little Jewel has something for everyone’s price range.

Using a family tradition of mother and child jewelry gifts to commemorate special moments, Little Jewel knew they had to create their own delicate and extraordinary pieces.

“Our delicate and fine line of jewelry tries to capture the moments of joy and bliss that the birth of a child represents.”

Win something special for yourself or even for someone else. Little Jewel is offering a LookWhatMomFound reader a Sterling Silver Boy or Girl Pendant, just like the one shown here.

Visit Little Jewel and tell me what you would LOVE to receive for Mother’s Day.

My kids are the cool kids of the neighborhood! Wanna know why? Just check out Shaun below.
That’s a Baby Rock Apparel t-shirt he’s wearing. It says “Sorry girls, I only date models”. Hoodies and headwear, tees and tunes are just some of the cool choices that you can find at Baby Rock Apparel. With sizes ranging from baby to big kid I was excited that they had stuff for Shaun. He’s a big kid so I got him the 8T and it should fit through the summer. The first night he wore it we out to dinner and our server loved it. I love fun clothing for my kids and Baby Rock Apparel hits the nail on the head.

Founded in 2004, Baby Rock Apparel was created out of the necessity to clothe infant, baby and toddler boys in trendy baby clothes. Baby Rock Apparel was among the first baby clothes manufacturers to offer hip baby clothes with an edge for boys and girls. The market is crowded with followers, but Baby Rock continues to lead the pack with innovative stylish designs on one-pieces, t-shirts, hoodies, caps and beanies.
Making much more than a fashion statement, Baby Rock Apparel donates a portion of its profits to The Pediatric Cancer Foundation. “Cancer has impacted our family like it has so many others, so we found it fitting to contribute to this great foundation to help kids”, says Kimberly Strayer, President of Baby Rock Apparel.

Baby Rock Apparel has offered a LookWhatMomFound reader the chance to win their choice of a onesie or tee. Need to buy something from them NOW, use discount code lookwhatmomfound to get 15% off any purchase till April 16th.
