Add some SeaPak Seafood to dinner tonight

Most of you know Rob and I enjoy regular date nights. They include a meal with a couple drinks, WITHOUT the kids. Since times are a bit rough lately our date nights have been sitting on the couch with a good show and yummy treat meal. SeaPak recently allowed us to enjoy super yummy date night by providing us a coupon that we redeemed for Jumbo Butterfly Shrimp.

So we made the kids their regular dinner but made the shrimp (1/2 bag actually) along with some rice and veggies and we had or dinner on the sofa while enjoying Men of a Certain Age on DVR. The shrimp came out crisp and tasty and along with cocktail sauce it was just like dinner at a local seafood joint.

SeaPak makes it simple to add the recommended 2 servings of seafood a week to your diet. With a selection ranging from Sun Dried Tomato Salmon to Artichoke Pesto Tilapia to Italian Parmesan Shrimp Scampi you are bound to find something for everyone. The little picky eaters even have the good ole’ standby of popcorn shrimp to go to when fish seems like a yucky choice.

“Seafood is an important part of our diet. It provides up with omega-3 fatty acids necessary for brain development, protein for muscle growth and vitamins B12, D and other essential nutrients. As parents we need to be better role models with our food choices. Introducing new foods takes time and creativity on our part. Children sometimes are receptive to new foods so preparing them in different ways or serving them with other favorites is a good way to keep set up better habits for eating lifestyle.

Visit Seapak, sign up for special coupon offers or few recipes for inspiration for tonight’s dinner.

Fishful Thinking Parenting Tool and Pepperidge Farm Gift Basket Giveaway-CLOSED

Growing up I thought a parents job was easy but now a father of three I see that is not the case.  Raising kids is a very difficult job and sometimes parents could use a little help and guidance. Fishful Thinking by Pepperidge Farm is a great tool for parents.

Fishful Thinking is made up of five key ingredients that we as parents can strengthen in our children and they are Optimism, Resilience, Goal Setting, Empowerment, and Emotional Awareness. Fishful Thinking is a terrific site with so much to offer parents so they can raise positive kids.
Under each of the five ingredients you will find a ton of great information like a definition of the category word, articles, activities, videos and facts. For example:

Optimism is the skill of focusing on the positive – without denying the negative – and channeling one’s energy toward what is controllable. Optimistic people expect good things to happen in their lives and work toward creating positive change. Fishful ThinkingSM helps parents learn new ways to promote optimism in their families and to create an environment that fosters positive emotions and the belief in possibilities.

Another feature of Fishful Thinking that caught my eye was the Quick Finder at the top right of the site. The Quick Finder lets you jump right to certain articles based on a child’s age and the skill set you are interested in reading more about. The first thing you would do is select the child’s age and the second thing you would select is the skill set you have an interest in. After that it will display all of the articles based on your criteria.

Pepperidge Farm has a ton of great products like Goldfish, Tim Tams, crackers and now they have a great parenting resource to add to their awesome line up of products.

There is so much more to Fishful thinking then is in my review so when you get a few minutes head over to Fishful Thinking and look around. You will find so many useful articles, videos and information that you can apply to your everyday life.

Pepperidge Farm has been nice enough to offer three lucky Look What Mom Found…and Dad too! readers a chance to win a Pepperidge Farm gift basket.  All you have to do is go to Fishful Thinking and tell me one fact not listed in this review.

Casio EX-FS10 Exilim Recap

Melinda and I are what I would call picture junkies. We take pictures all of the time everywhere we go. We currently use an SLR but were looking for a point and shoot to add to our arsenal of cameras. Its been a while since we owned a point and shoot and originally wanted one mainly for its size but after using our Casio EX-FS10 Exilim that we received for analysis there are so many other features we are happy to have.

I was super excited when I heard that our Casio EX-FS10 Exilim arrived. Thank goodness I was not home when it was delivered because I would have wanted to play with the camera right away. Since I wasn’t home Melinda was able to charge the battery, attach the wrist strap and do all of the other things that I hate doing.

The Casio EX-FS10 Exilim has a ton of great features and here I am going to list a few:

• 9.1-megapixel resolution

• 3x optical image-stabilized zoom

• 30 shot-per-second high-speed burst shooting (6 MP images)

• HD Movie function (will record beautiful videos at a size of 1280×720 pixels)

• Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)

• 2.5 cm clear LCD screen

A few of my favorite features of the Casio EX-FS10 Exilim is its size. It is 3.8 inches wide, 2.3 inches high and .64 inches thin which makes it so easy to put it in my back pocket and go. I also like the 30 shot-per-second high-speed burst. What better way for me to catch all of Shaun’s and Shae’s crazy play time activities. So far the camera is awesome but the one thing that is a little bit of a letdown is the HD movie function. From what I have seen you need extremely good natural light in order for the movie to turn out well. I am still playing with the settings and things of that nature to see if I can fine tune to movie quality in low light situations but so far no luck. I used the HD movie function today during the day and the video rocked.

All in all the Casio EX-FS10 Exilim is an excellent camera and can be purchased at places like Amazon and retails for approximately $170.00.

191 Unlimited offers style for Men and Boys

I know I’ve mentioned before how low-key and laid-back my kids are with the way they dress. Both Shaun and sabreena are jeans and tees masters. When it’s time to kick it up a notch I want to make sure Shaun is not only looking good but wearing something that is comfortable.

191 Unlimited is a collection of clothes for BOYS and men. Using 4 key principles: comfort, affordability, fit and attention to detail these stylish button-down shirts have an air of sophistication without being stuffy. 191 Unlimited was started with $191, 2 best friends, a trip to the casino and a vision. A successful and fashionable clothing line was born and can be found throughout Hollywood on the likes of Tom Brady from the NE Patriots and Taboo of the BlackEyed Peas.

Shaun received Montreux right before the holidays. It’s a deep eggplant color with pinstripes and a diamond pattern on the inside cuff and collar. These details stood out as he wore it casually with jeans and unbutton at top. Not to brag but my boy is handsome and this shirt really brought out the little man in him. I’m eyeing a couple shirts for Rob, thinking ahead to spring family pictures and them looking their best.

Check out 191 Unlimted online or in selected Macy’s, Nordstroms and other specialty stored found here.

Wii Fit Plus Recap

Working out and exercising doesn’t bother me, actually a lot of the time I really enjoy working out. For those of you who find it boring or not fun to exercise should try working out using Wii Fit Plus. When I feel like I need a change of pace in my routine I turn to Wii Fit Plus.

Wii Fit Plus is packed with every feature from Wii Fit—plus new exercises and tools to personalize your exercise routine. If you already have a profile on the original Wii Fit, you can easily transfer it over to Wii Fit Plus making it a super easy transition. Will Fit Plus has some pretty cool new features like My Wii Fit Plus which allows you to personalize your Wii Fit Plus workouts. Calories Burned is another really cool new feature which allows you to set daily goals on how many calories you want to burn. Everyone who is trying to lose weight watches their calories to some extent and this new feature easily allows you to do that.

Sabreena and I have each used Wii Fit Plus a few times since receiving it for analysis a few days ago. We also have Wii Fit so we could definitely see the improvements made and all of the new strength training routines as well as yoga routines that have been added. One of the areas we really like in Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus are the balance games and there are 15 cool new ones for Wii Fit Plus. One of my favorite new balance games on the Wii Fit Plus is the Snowball Fight. Sabreena has two favorites which are Island Cycling and Rhythm Kung Fu. All in all the Wii Fit Plus is a very nice improvement over the original Wii Fit.

If you already have Wii Fit you have the Wii balance board so for $19.99 you can upgrade to the disc only version of Wii Fit Plus. If you are new to Wii Fit Plus for $99.99 you can get the disc and the Wii balance board. Wii Fit Plus can be bought at retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Game Stop and others. Wii Fit Plus is worth the money as well as the time you will spend using it. If you are looking to have some fun while working out give Wii Fit Plus a try.

Eden Home Organic, Study and In-home Spa Treatment

Where do you turn to shop for natural and eco-friendly bedding, clothing, baby products and everything else for your home?

Eden Home is the one place to find a complete selection of organic, all-natural and eco-friendly products for your home and life that won’t have you compromising your sense of style. Many of the so-called “organic” and “natural” products sold today are either not pure or not beautiful. So Eden Home was started to offer healthy choices ranging from organic clothes for baby to natural bath towels, from organic cookware to all natural shampoos.

When I was approached by Eden Home I was 1st pleased by the lovely design and easy to navigate site. Next I was amazed at the large selection of everything under the sun. I really enjoyed the variety of kids and baby gear: from organic clothes to natural toys to natural skincare to BPA-free feeding tools. Bedding and Clothing is where I made my first stops. Bamboo sheets are my new favorite indulgence in the bedroom but bamboo clothing is my new favorite personal indulgence. There is something special about the feel of organic bamboo and cotton, the result is silkiness against the skin with no pilling, snags or misshaping.

I was able to ANALYSE a pair of comfy Blue Canoe easy style pants. Easy is a perfect word for these stretchy wide-legged lounge pants. I got the Cognac color thinking it would be brown, I was wrong it had a warm cocoa/rust color, different from what I was expecting but still a pretty.
I would love to try out the unique cooking tools available. The La Chamba Clay Pot collection is truly one-of-a-kind. Made in Colombia not very differently than previous centuries these clay pots are hand formed and free of glazes and lead.

Look around Eden Home for yourself and tell me what green changes you want to make for your home for your chance to win a Bath/Spa Treatment gift basket for a natural destress in your own home.

Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System

Being as anal as I am I always worry about the house when we are away for any length of time. Thank goodness for Logitech because my fears are now calmed with the Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System.

Logitech was nice enough to send me the Indoor Video Security Master System for analysis. I am grateful they did because I received it before Christmas and was able to set the camera up in the living room. The camera was setup so it would capture any activity in the living room which is where our Christmas tree and presents were.
Setup was simple and in less than 15 minutes my camera was up and running. All I had to do was run the setup wizard to install the software on my computer, plug in the USB receiver module and then setup and plug in the camera and that was about it. The Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System uses Homeplug connectivity which means you’ll be up and running in no time—no new wires to run, no network configuration. It transmits encrypted video over your existing electrical wires straight to your PC. It’s really that easy.

Once I was done with these steps the next thing I did was go to the WiLife Command Center and got myself familiar with how the command center works. The WiLife Command Center is where you can playback recorded video or watch live video.

What I think is really cool about the Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System is that when the camera detects motion WiLife automatically records video and saves them as .wmv files on your pc’s hard drive. Once recorded on your hard drive you can go back and watch the video segments via the playback screen.

The Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System also allows you to receive email and cell phone alerts when a camera detects motion. You have the option to receive one of three message types: simple text only, text and one frame of video or a video clip. You also have the ability to remotely watch video while away from home via a computer or Windows Mobile enabled wireless PDAs or cell phones. Log into WiLife Online at online.wilife.com and you can access live video from your cameras anywhere in the world, at any time.

Watch CBS News Videos Online

The Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System supports up to six cameras so if you need to add additional cameras you have the option to. Logitech also has an outdoor camera you can add in addition to the indoor cameras if you need to record what is going on outside of the home. If you need additional features other then what I have listed or system requirements click HERE.

I have been using the Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System for about two months and am really impressed with how easy the system was to setup and use. I am also impressed with the cameras video quality. If you need piece of mind while away from the home I would recommend picking up the Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System.

Want to win your own Logitech Indoor Video Security Master System ? Visit Logitech and tell me what you like most about the indoor or outdoor security system.

Stay Warm this Winter with Cuddl Duds

It’s cold here! The weather took a drastic turn a couple weeks ago and I’m not coping well. Sabreena on the other hand is nice and toasty in her Cuddl Duds Activewear Midweight Shirt.

Cuddl Duds is a leading designer/manufacturer of warm undergarments. The products vary from lightweight tanks and camis to bamboo long-sleeve tees designed to keep women warm under the harshest conditions. Since 1908 parent company Komar has been providing comfortable, quality products – echoing the words of their founder “you only have one reputation”.

Sabreena instantly noticed the thickness of her long sleeve crew neck shirt. It’s definitely thicker than a typical long sleeve tee and the length is great too. She’s started wearing it on its own not as underwear but as a regular shirt. It’s silky material and t-shirt styling gives no one the impression that it’s supposed to be worn under something.

Warm up this cold winter with Cuddl Duds in a variety of materials, weights and styles.

The Original Harlem Globetrotters in their 84th season

When I say Harlem Globetrotters what do you think of? I think of the catchy tune and the image of spinning a basketball on a finger.

We’d never attended a performance even though it was something Rob had expressed great interest in. It was something that always got pushed aside for “maybe next year”. What fools we were! We were recently invited to the 2010 North American tour kick-off at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD. The event started off with a meet and greet (picture taking) with some players before the game. All the players were so gracious and friendly; there was no feeling of being rushed along for the next group. They smiled, signed autographs, cracked jokes and were really accommodating for multiple poses.

We were a little disappointed at first when we found out that Flight Time  and Big Easy weren’t playing in this game but easily got over it when we got a glimpse of Handles Frankin’s personality. Again I wasn’t familiar with their actual games but to give you an idea the “wise-guy” of the team is microphoned during the game in order for you to hear the “sh!t-talkin” going on. It stayed family friendly with tons of interaction with the fans like dance contests, purse snatching and heckling.

Shaun was amazed and confused at the same time. He loved the tricks but then questions the “legality” of bouncing a ball off another player’s back or hypnotizing your opponent to get the upper hand. My favorite part of the day was during a fan interaction moment when a mentally disabled child took the court and took laps while the arena cheered him on. You could tell he loved the attention and the Trotters loved giving it to him. After only 1-2 tries he made a basket and the audience was brought to their feet. It was a great moment to witness.

The Harlem Globetrotters IS the epitome of family fun. Given the chance we’d see them in every surrounding city. Check out the schedule; see for yourself how much fun this actually is. I advise on tickets close to the court to really take part in the action and become a part of the game.

Thanks to The Original Harlem Globetrotters for the opportunity to be involved in such a spectacle.
