Trix Swirls Creative Kids Gift Pack Solution

Mornings are hectic and I usually like breakfast to be simple. Honey Nut Cheerios is usually our go to cereal; it’s the one that our kids agree on. We do occasionally get some “fun” cereal for snacking and for treats. I was asked to try out the new Trix Swirls. I figured my kids would enjoy it, I did when I was a kid.

General Mills is one of the world’s largest providers of ready to eat breakfast cereals. Like the rest of their Big G cereal line, Trix is fortied with vitamins and minerals plus made with whole grains. With the addition of milk and fresh fruit or juice it becomes a balanced meal to help get your kids busy day started. New Trix Swirls is a little different than what I was used to growing up. They now combine 2 fruity flavors in each crunchy puff. I was supposed to tell you what my kids thought about the crazy new combinations but the box was empty before I knew it.

Along with the box of Trix Swirls cereal came with a bunch of cool artist supplies (a colorful apron, a set of watercolor pencils, watercolor paints, brushes, a sketchbook, and an art supply box). Sabreena loved the HUGE sketchpad and immediately started drawing with the watercolor pencils at the kitchen table. She the artist of the family so the fun gifts were hers but Shaun is the snacker so he’s probably guilty of dusting off the cereal on his own.
My Blog Spark wants to give 2 LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! readers Trix Swirls Creative Kid Gift Baskets. Tell me some crazy, funky, gross or funny food combinations you or your kids have tried. Shaun’s latest dinner experiment was mashed potatoes and ketchup; it wasn’t a good outcome.

Plasma Car Recapitulation

Toys that use good old fashion kid power are hard to come by these days but if you are looking for a children’s toy that your kids will love to ride that doesn’t run on batteries then PlasmaCar has what you are looking for.

The revolutionary new PlasmaCar comes in 6 awesome colors and is very easy to maneuver. It is made from high quality plastics that are rugged and durable, has no pedals or gears and has no batteries to replace. All you need to operate the Plasma Car is a nice flat surface and alot of kid power or adult power depending who is on it for the ride. The PlasmaCar can handle a load of 100 kg (220 lbs) on a smooth, flat surface, and 55 kg (120 lbs) on a rough, flat surface. The Plasma Car is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE ON HARDWOOD FLOORS OR LAMINATE FLOORING.

My kids LOVE the PlasmaCar so much they wait for the other to get off so that they can jump on. It is actually amusing to see because I never thought a toy that they needed to power themselves would be so popular. Toys that run by remote control or have moving parts or flashing lights tend to be popular with my children. My 2 year old doesn’t have enough kid power to run the PlasmaCar due to her size and understanding of how it works yet but she will sit on it and push with her feet and do the best she get to get it moving. Shaun and Sabreena are pros at riding the PlasmaCar. They jump on and zip down the block with little to no effort at all and have a blast while doing it. They take turn riding the PlasmaCar for hours and never complain about being bored which is great.

I love that the PlasmaCar is not just another electric ride on toy because as a parent what I try to look for in a toy is something that will keep my kids entertained. I also look for toys where they can get some physical activity at the same time and that is a huge plus. I love seeing the enjoyment my kids get when riding the PlasmaCar. If you are looking for a ride on toy that DOESN’T run on batteries that your kids will beg to ride and probably ride non-stop then you need to get yourself a PlasmaCar.

Plasma Car has offered 1 of my lucky readers a chance to win a Plasma Car (No color guarantee) of their own valued at $69.95!!!!

Manic Mittens Boutique Quality Hair Accessories

As the mom of a little girl I love finding cute accessories for her towear. She’s a girly girl too who loves shoes, bows, dresses and jewelry. Manic Mittens must have known that Shae’s birthday was coming up because she was sent an adorable tutu and a ponytail streamer. The tutu is pink of course and is filled with flower petals, I especially love this touch. Shae loved the big flower in the front and made sure it was always centered right on her belly.

ManicMitten’s is operated by Lorien, a SAHM to three children in Canada. Lorien crafts infant to kid-size hair clippies, tutus, beanie hats, adult hair accessories and SOOO much more. Each piece is crafted by hand with quality materials so that they stand out and become the finishing touch to any outfit for any occasion. Choose from the extensive selection of colors, styles and sizes or ask about custom items.
Bridal shower gifts can be difficult these days with everyone’s different styles but how about trendy bobby pins they can all wear for whatever hairstyle. I have short hair and love bobby pins to hold back my long bangs but the ladies with long hair can use them as support for an updo.

Babies growing hair is always a challenge. Those flyaway pieces that are different lengths and then some are curly and some are stick straight. Manic Mittens has a HUGE assortment of no-slip hair clippies. You choose lined or partially lined plus from choices like embellished or personalized.
One of my favorite creations from Lorien is the crocheted beanie with hair clip. Made to be soft and stretchy to last through the years the beanie is accented with a hair clip that can be moved around or worn on its own.

Manic Mittens has very reasonable prices and special wholesale pricing making accessorizing not just fun but affordable. Plus with the variety of designs, embellishments and patterns you’ll find something for everyone-cutesy, preppy, classy and punk! Win a set of 5 assorted no slip clips and a hairbow for the itty bitty one in your life. Visit Manic Mittens and choose your favorite must have item.EXTRA ENTRIES:

Starfrit Eco-Friendly Cookware Evaluation

We’ve made a lot of green changes in our life; paper products, groceries, healthcare choices. Something I never thought twice about was our cookware, I didn’t know there were eco-friendly options out there. Starfrit Alternative Cookware is the green choice I never knew I needed.

• Alternative eco-friendly die-cast cookware
• non-stick surface
• from 100% natural ceramic powder
• CHEMICAL FREE – Easy to clean
• Made of 99% recycled aluminum
• Even heat distribution
• Extra thick base never warps, buckles or bends
• Integrated induction base is for the use on all stovetops including induction
• 5-year warranty with proof of purchase
• Available in 24 cm 28cm sizes

What makes this a great non-stick pan is the 100% ceramic surface, made from ceramic powder, a natural element of the earth. This does away from the potentially toxic chemicals in traditional non-stick pans. I was able to make 6 scrambled eggs with NO oil at all. With nothing left in the pan I was thoroughly impressed. Clean up was quick, a few swipes with a soapy sponge and that was it. We’ve been using the Starfrit Alternative Fry Pan daily for a couple weeks and have no complaints for its ability to cook the food we like to eat, healthier and a bit easier.

The manufacturers recommendations are to add a teaspoon of oil for better cooking results but I haven’t figured out why. Also did you know that you should only salt water after it has come to a boil. The melting salt could attack the metal and coating leaving divets in your pan.

This pan not only passes for being green but gets and A++ for allowing us to cook healthier! Starfrit wants to give LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! readers the chance to win their own Alternative Fry Pan. Visit Starfrit and tell me another kitchen product you would love to try and WHY.

Somersault Snack Co. delicious and nutritious snacking

As a busy mom I often skip meals to save time to do other things. I know this isn’t smart but sometimes lunch can wait when Shae is begging for a nap or when Sabreena needs to be picked up from a friend’s house. This is when I usually grab something like yogurt, fruit or a granola bar. While these are healthy alternatives to going hungry they get boring after a while.

I was introduced to Somersault Snack Co. a couple weeks back as a twist on snacking. I try to steer clear of chips and cookies as part of my regular diet but Somersaults gives that junkfood feel with benefits. Healthy whole grains, nuts, spices and other all natural ingredients to produce a crunchy little nugget of goodness.

Here’s the scoop:

  • Well-balanced, nourishing, all natural
  • 150 calories / serving
  • 6-7 g protein & 3g fiber
  • No trans fats, nut free and baked in a facility that uses no nuts!
  • 6 oz resealable pouch and a 2 oz grab-n-go
  • Available in 3 flavors; S.S. Salt, Chez Cocoa & Salty Pepper

My favorites were S.S. Salt and Salty Pepper. I liked the flavor the sunflower & sesame seeds added, very different from the usual cheese crackers I’m stuffing into my mouth. I also like that they come in small diaperbag size pouches, something Rob and I can share during a quick car ride or something I can toss to Sabreena in the back seat.

Turn the world of snacking upside-down. Somersault Snack Co. invites you to share in the unexpected pleasures of Somersaults, with crunch, zing and a little zest for adventure.

Blue Smoke Salsa

Chips and salsa are the ultimate anytime snack and Melinda and I love to try different salsas so when we were asked if we wanted to try Blue Smoke Salsa we were like “heck yeah”.

History of Blue Smoke Salsa:

Raised with 13 brothers and sisters, gardening, cooking and canning was nothing new to Robin Hildebrand. But when requests for her product began to grow, she left her full-time job to produce and market her salsa right out of her home.

Blue Smoke Salsa is homemade in West Virginia and they still use the same exact recipe they have used for approximately the last 20 years. Blue Smoke Salsa offers eleven different products and has a nice selection like the peach salsa and hot salsa and they even have a few jellies like the hot and mild pepper jelly which will surly warm up any occasion. Blue Smoke Salsa offers their products by the jar and they also offer premade or custom gift baskets which would be a perfect gift for Christmas and birthdays. Melinda and I LOVED The Blue Smoke Salsa peach salsa. We had it last Friday night as an appetizer before our pizza as Friday is pizza night and it allowed us to hang out and just chat a little while enjoying some chips and peach salsa. The Blue Smoke Salsa peach salsa is nice and thick which is good because a lot of salsas tend to be watery so it is hard to eat. If you love salsa like we do then you need to check out Blue Smoke Salsa. Happy Snacking!

Celebrate with Shae and Build-a-Bear plus giveaway

We all know one of the most popular gifts for kids are stuffed animals. In our house the most popular stuffed animals are Build-a-Bear furry friends. Between the 3 kids we have around 20 friends that include Elmo, Cookie Monster, 2 bunnies, a monkey (named Chili Dog), a bunch of bears and several dogs.

Build-a-Bear started with the simple idea of “I can do that”. Maxine Clark didn’t invent the stuffed animal she made them better. By allowing guests to choose exactly what they want: animal, sound, huggability, outfit and name they are ensured they are completely satisfied with their final stuffed friend. The first retail store opened in 1997 and to date there are over 400 stores worldwide. Along with the retail sites there is an award winning web site, BuildaBear.com where friends can be purchased and customized and Build-a-Parties can be scheduled and an interactive online world called BuildaBearville.com. This is where guests can continue the fun from the store at home by bringing the furry friend to life to play games, purchase clothing and furniture and trade items with other citizens of the online community.

Just in time for her birthday tomorrow Shae was sent an adorable Curly Bear with plaid skirt and summer tee and GORGEOUS silver flip flops. Shae absolutely loves the shoes! The bear has been named her Sam after Shae’s favorite iCarly character and has been sleeping with her and sharing her blanket with her new friend.

Until August 31st Build-a-Bear is running a super special in their retail stores. Purchase ANY bear plus ANY hanging outfit for just $29.99. This promotion is good IN STORE only and doesn’t include area taxes.

LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! and Build-a-Bear are giving you the chance to win the same bear Shae received. Sign-up for their Beary Newsworthy e-newsletter and tell me another furry friend you would love to own yourself or give to a special little one in your life.

Kaskey Kids Sports Action Figures

I love sports especially football so when Kaskey Kids asked me if I would be interested in doing a analysis and giveaway of their sports action figures I jumped at the chance.

Kaskey Kids offers sports action figures for football, college football, baseball, hockey and guys and girls soccer. I am a huge Alabama fan (Roll Tide!) so when I saw these as an option I flipped and couldn’t wait to receive them. Once they arrived they didn’t disappoint. The quality was awesome not to mention how real they looked. Each player was hand painted in Alabama’s home and away uniforms and they looked truly amazing. Each college football set includes:

  • 26 2″ players
  • 1 referee
  • 2 goal posts
  • 24″x 48″ washable felt field
  • 10″x 6″x 5″ stackable container with attached lid and handle

Once I got over the excitement of these sports figures because in Maryland there is not a lot of Alabama collectibles, my son and I set it up like a game was going on. We had the whole offense and defense set up with a referee, goal posts and a felt field which makes you feel like you are at Bryant-Denny Stadium. This is the best Alabama collectible I have by far which my son and I will continue to play with.
Kaskey Kids was founded by Bruce and Christy Kaskey in 2001 with the purpose of creating simple sports action figures. As a mother of four sports-loving children, Christy saw that her children and their friends were happiest and most enthusiastic when sports were involved. Christy took a look back at her own childhood for some inspiration and could vividly remember her two brothers engaging in hours of imaginary play with simple action figures like Army Men, Super Heroes and Cowboys and Indians. After a few years with her house filling up with every bucket or bag of action figures, animals or cars, Christy realized that a simple box of sports action figures could be the key.

Kaskey Kids has a great product and has received many awards to prove it like Creative Childs Magazine Preferred Choice Award in 2008, MSNBC “ConsumerMan” Herb Weisbaum’s Top Rated Preschool Toys for 2005 and the list goes on and on.
I was truly impressed with my Alabama sports action guys and would recommend any of the Kaskey Kids sports action figures to friends and family. So if you or someone you know is a sports fan or a fan of action figures in general check out Kaskey Kids. You will be happy you did.

Kaskey Kids has been generous enough to offer 1 lucky reader the choice of any 1 set of any sports action figure set. So you can choice from footballs guys, college football, baseball guys, hockey guys or guys or girls soccer. They are also offering a promo code you can use for 10% off and that is “GoGuys”

Visit Kaskey Kids and sign up for their mailing list for Special Promotions and occasional information about new products AND tell me which Kaskey Kids Sports Action Figures you will select if you win.

Sears is getting you Campus Ready

“This post was sponsored by sears. All the opinions are mine”

It’s that time of year AGAIN. It’s time to pull backpacks out from under the bed, count how many pencils are in the junk drawer and see how pairs of jeans each of the kids need.
That’s right it’s Back to School time. I have 2 school age kids, so the above mentioned chores are slowing happening here. In fact Rob just went through the supply stash to check it against Shaun’s supply list, of course we need tons of stuff. We haven’t even begun to think about what Sabreena needs.

While my kids are yet college age I still think about those days to come; packing up the car with boxes of clothes, an old tv, a microwave purchased on sale and a couple spare sheets sets and blankets and then off they go. Sears is here to help those college years off to a better start. CampusReady is about getting that dorm room decorated in style!

Vintage Chic is my favorite design, girly but not juvenile. Using the shopping checklist will ensure your child will have everything they need to live comfortably in their new home away from home. Check out the great Money Sense section too! It’s full of great tips to spend wisely and create a budget. Whether you are looking for furniture, apparel or organizing tools Sears has it all.

What college did your child choose? The have to dress accordingly.
That big football school in the Midwest requires a heavy coat. The party school down South requires lots of cute tees and accessories. At the academic fortress in the Northest some no nonsense polos would be in order.

Sears has also created a very cool CampusReady on Facebook on Facebook Application to ensure your college student has an easy transition into his new independence. With all the tools Sears is giving you and your child, leaving home for the first time should be easier, not less emotional but less stressful.

Gift Hero -Copter Darts Evalutation

When your child gets invited to a birthday party do you dread going to the store and trying to find that perfect age appropriate gift? I know I do but not anymore with this awesome website called Gift Hero.

Gift Hero takes the stress out of gift buying with their simple to use website. All you have to do is go to Gift Hero and on the main page under Gift Finder select gender, age and price. After you hit go a list of gifts will be displayed based on the selections you made. Gift Hero will deliver your gift in a fun and easy gift bag to “wrap” your gift and take to the party. I really like the Gift Finder feature because it insures you are getting an age appropriate gift that the birthday child should love. All of the gifts on Gift Hero have been tested by Stefanie (Owner), Lisa (Owner), their kids and their kid’s friends so you know you are going to get a great gift.
Gift Hero was started by Stefanie and Lisa the mothers of 3 young children. They were tired of the not so good toy selection at big retailers and at their local stores. Stefanie and Lisa figured there was an easier way to find that perfect gift that they would be happy to give to the birthday child. Gift Hero does not offer anything Stefanie and Lisa wouldn’t be thrilled for their own children to receive.

My family had the pleasure of receiving the OgoSport Copter Dart Set from Gift Hero. The Copter Dart Set arrived at the house “wrapped” in the awesome gift bag they provide which would have made it super easy to give as a gift but since this was for my son we opened it and played it immediately. My son and daughter really enjoy playing with the Copter Dart Set so much that it even went on vacation with us last week. With its foldable target and light weight darts this is a must have for any outdoor trip especially family barbeques.

The OgoSport Copter Dart Set comes with 4 foam darts, foldable target and pouch. The darts have flexible foam wings and a weighted plastic tip so they land upright every time. This game can be played either indoors or outdoors.

Next time your child is invited to a birthday party don’t waste your precious time driving to the store to find a gift head over to Gift Hero where you will be sure to find that PERFECT gift.

Stefanie and Lisa of Gift Hero have been nice enough to offer 1 lucky reader a chance to win their very own Copter Dart Set!!!!

Visit Gift Hero and tell me what gift you would like your child to receive for their next birthday.
