Winner Chosen: ESBaby Cloth Diaper Recapitulation

momof3dolls, July 3, 2009 3:38 PM daily tweet
http://twitter.com/momof3dolls/status/2458474120

I love fluffy butt. Don’t know what fluffy butt is? It’s the term used for cloth diapered heinys since they are soft and squishy and FLUFFY. I’ve been cloth diapering Shae since she was about a week old. We started with fitted and prefolds with covers and have moved all over the cloth world using all different brands and styles.

AIOs are a style that I’ve used off and on with success and sometimes without success. I stumbled on ESBaby and knew I had to try an All-In-One again. What drew me to ESBaby was the variety of styles and customization available plus the adorable traditional design of gathered legs, giving that sweet ruffled look. ESBaby is run by Christine, a work at home mom to two children. She makes a full line of cloth diapering products, including fitteds, covers, AIOS, QuickDry AIOs, wipes, diaper bags and wetbags. She also carries a line of women’s reusable cloth pads. ESBaby carries organic and non-organic options in all of their products and is open for custom orders.

After giving Christine Shae’s measurements her precious lavender fluffy goodness True AIO arrived and I wished women’s underwear could be made with the same plush sherpa that this diaper was made from. The fit was great, the legs and side-snapping wings had great stretch to fit Shae’s chunky thighs with room to grow and the rise was low enough to sit under her belly but still cover her booty. This diaper is thick, not a trim fit but since Shae is what some would call a “super soaker” we need the bulk so a big heiny doen’t bother me one bit.

My particular diaper has 5 layers of sherpa topped with cotton velour plus the inner lining. Christine is toying with the idea of cutting back to 4 layers to reduce the bulk but again I don’t mind it at all. With the extra layers Shae was able to nap in her diaper without any leaking or wicking to her clothing. I’m completely impressed with the craftsmanship and quality of materials.

Want to win your own ESBaby True AIO? Here’s your chance! ESBaby is giving LookWhatMomFound readers the chance to win one of their own. Visit ESBaby and sign up for Christine’s newsletter then come back and tell me what other product you would like to try.

Attune Bars for Good Health

In my search for new products for my sisters I was turned on to Attune Bars. It’s a new “health” food then benefits not only pregnant woman but anyone. Our healthy digestive system is important for overall well-being. If we aren’t getting the nutrition we need from the food we eat then we aren’t going to thrive. Stress, medications, poor diet and other environmental factors generally put our health at risk. Attune bars help balance the good bacteria called probiotics by providing up to 5 times the amount of live active cultures than regular yogurt in the convienence of an on-the-go bar.

The probiotics story begins with intestinal bacteria, which are a community of good and bad bacteria that live in the digestive system. We all have naturally occurring bacterial communities in our digestive systems. They help:

  • Protect the body from harmful bacteria.
  • Exercise the immune system to ensure it is ready to react to harmful bacteria.
  • Strengthen the intestinal wall so it acts as a defensive barrier.
  • Digest fiber in the diet, so we can absorb the nutrients from the foods we eat.

These digestive bacteria are essential to overall wellbeing. Probiotics act as a helper to these friendly bacteria, and that help can keep the digestive system functioning well.

Attune probiotic chocolate bars, available in seven delicious chocolate flavors (such as Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate and Blueberry Vanilla), have 100 or fewer calories and contain three of the most clinically supported probiotic strains for digestive health and immunity (more important than ever) plus calcium and fiber. Attune probiotic wellness bars are a delicious way to enjoy the health benefits probiotics can provide. Each Attune wellness bar is packed with probiotics that help rebalance your digestive system, so your whole body can work better.

  • Attune probiotics are proven to survive in the digestive tract, where they can provide optimal health benefits.
  • The probiotics in Attune have been clinically tested to support a healthy digestive system and a strong immune system.*
  • Attune wellness bars also include prebiotics, which support healthy digestive function and work in harmony with probiotics.

Sabreena have tried a couple bars so far and they are pretty tasty. She enjoys the granola bars and I like the Almond Milk Chocolate best. Attune bars are an easy and delicious way to maintain a healthy balance of good and bad.

Shaun is not a fan of learning. When it’s time to sit and do homework or practice writing it usually results in a meltdown. I’ve tried different methods, rewards, bribes, punishment and fun education but I seem to get the same results. I worry because he’s only going into 1st grade and the battles are exhausting.

I was recently given the opportunity to try out the Jumpstart.com. JumpStart is an award-winning adventure-based 3D virtual world that is super-personalized, wildly imaginative and really fun, but don’t let that fool you – it also teaches math, reading, and critical thinking skills so kids get a real jump start in life. Since 1991, Knowledge Adventure® has set the standard in kids’ software by creating the finest educational products for use in the home and the classroom. Today, Knowledge Adventure’s JumpStart® and MathBlaster® products invite kids to learn through endless gaming adventures in 3D virtual worlds. By blending learning and entertainment, Knowledge Adventure’s adventure-based learning inspires kids’ minds through immersed play. A subsidiary of Knowledge Holdings, Inc., the company is privately-held and based in Torrance, California.

I remember using Jumpstart products when Sabreena was younger so I didn’t hesitate to get Shaun on the computer to try it out. He LOVED that he could make his own character; his avatar has black hair a yellow baseball cap and it along with his skill level and progress are saved for future visits. Shaun is always going; talking, moving, fidgeting, itching, mumbling, but he was calm and intense for about an hour while he took a tour of Adventureland. In AdventureLand, kids are invited to explore a mysterious lost island off the coast of JumpStart. After mastering the speed, skills and moves needed to survive the mission on Training Island, players are whisked off to Lost Island, where new adventures await around every corner. He completely enjoyed his 1st visit to Jumpstart and now asks to play. We’ve had educational games in the past but he’s not a fan since he knows they are educational. Jumpstart hides some of the learning with games and songs so he just thinks he’s playing but has to work a little at it.
Jumpstart offers a respectable Parent’s spot also. With a discussion board, art to personalize the kid’s computer or even print and a blog that is chock-full of articles and updates about Jumpstart you can always keep up with your child. With games and activities for kids aged 3-10 this is definitely something that is perfect for a family with children of different ages. No need to buy one game for each, they can each have their own profile with their information and proficiency saved. A great buy at $7.99/month or $74.99/year Jumpstart is an investment into your child’s education

Win a 3-month membership to Jumpstart.com for your children. Visit the Jumpstart.com and tell me what you like most about the site.

Winner Chosen: Street Surfing Recapitulation

Tamara B., June 29, 2009 5:31 PM

I am a follower.

The Street Surfing, LLC. Ripple is like no other skateboard on the street. It’s design requires more of a surfing motion, twisting and turning on a dime with caster wheels that turn 360 degrees and a deck that pivots with the movements of your body. The Ripple offers the same great ride, same great quality and same killer performance as the Wave but with a more compact profile that makes it perfect for younger riders. No matter what board you get the tricks and ride will always be cool.

We haven’t had the chance to fully master the Ripple. We’ve had what seems like 40 days and 40 nights of rain and slick surfaces don’t mix well with wheels. Sabreena was able to take it out the other day and practice getting on and starting out. She’s not very athletic but she got the hang of it in a short time. She obviously needs more practice on turning and steering but she actually enjoyed it and plans on heading out again today. She did mention that the boys in the neighborhood loved it and begged to take turns. The few regular skateboarders got the hang of it a bit quicker. Shaun will no doubt get the hang of it pretty good. At the age of 6 he’s pretty athletically inclined and quite the daredevil; just ask my heart as he’s going full speed down a hill on his bike. Rob, who used to skateboard at a kid, attempted to get on and quickly ditched that plan at the first feeling of hitting pavement.

Street Surfing, LLC is a sporting goods product and lifestyle company that manufactures and distributes The Wave®. Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Street Surfing, LLC is committed to delivering durable, high-quality Street Surfing equipment, accessories and apparel. They offer a variety of Wave boards for different age ranges and skill levels. The Ripple is built for younger riders with its slim design. The Wave Stealth uses Abec 7 bearings and integrated grip tape for a faster ride with more tricks and the new Wave LX has a wider deck for more stability and new lightweight design. Don’t forget to grab a helmet and pads to ensure not only your kids safety but your own.

Street Surfing, LLC is giving my readers the chance to win a Wave LX ($80 value) or Ripple ($80 value) of their own. Visit Street Surfing, LLC and tell me which one you would like to win and who it would be for. Unfortunetely you won’t have a choice of design.

Winner Chosen: Mommy’s ER Recapitulation

Barely Domestic Mama, June 18, 2009 8:36 AM

I’ve got your button on my blog’s sidebar.

I’m a little to no medicine kind of person. Not just for me either but for my kids. I wasn’t always like this; I remember dosing Sabreena with cough and cold products when she was little. As she grew up and Shaun and Shae came along I started to realize that these products either did little to relive symptoms or were masking more severe ailments. I started pay closer attention to other things that worked and really prefer natural remedies to things like teething, cough and fever.
Some of these remedies and many more have been captured into one DVD series called Mommy’s ER. Mommy’s ER is a 3-part instructional DVD series that teaches moms (and dads!) safe, simple, at-home methods to treat common children’s ailments naturally. I’ve viewed all three DVDs and was quite impressed with the detail as to where Jennifer Crain has gone into not only explaining the methods but as to why they work. The demonstrations are clear and Jennifer’s voice is calming but confident. The first DVD goes through Acute Conditions such as fever, vomiting, earache and other sudden illness that can affect your child. DVD 2 covers chronic health issues such as asthma, allergies and chronic ear infections while DVD 3 is devoted to maintaining a healthy lifestyle with preventative care such as boosting their immune system.

DVD 3 is my favorite. I’m always wondering what I can do better to keep my kids healthy. I have always tried to keep my kids away from excessive sugar especially processed sugars but to find out that sugar, especially white sugar can reduce the effectiveness of our immune systems was startling. Here is Jennifer Crain discussing the importance of sleep for our children.

Jennifer Crain, creator of Mommy ER is a practicing acupuncturist who specializes in treating a variety of children’s health conditions through acupressure, Japanese-style acupuncture and nutritional healing. Founder and owner of The Goji Seed Eastern health clinic in Austin, Texas, Jennifer divides her time between private consultations on children’s and women’s health, and traveling in search of the newest remedies and approaches to natural healing. Prior to opening The Goji Seed and starting Mommy’s ER, Jennifer worked as a reproductive health researcher at University of California at San Francisco and a virologist for the state of California, providing health care and health education to underserved populations. For six years, she directed public health programs in Latin America, where she developed and managed programs in maternal-child healthcare, nutrition and immunization campaigns. She holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin. Jennifer opened the Goji Seed Clinic in 2005, where her integrated, holistic approach was quickly embraced by the local community. She has also extensively studied yoga and meditation as tools for health and well-being.

If you are interested in introducing natural changes and therapies into yours and your child’s lives than I would highly suggest purchasing the Mommy’s ER DVD series. It is a comprehensive look into a blend of Eastern and Western medicine and it’s alternatives to an over-use of antibiotics and prescription and over the counter medications. Please understand that this information is not intended to replace your doctor’s recommendations or diagnosis but to add to or supplement while you are waiting for professional advice or care.

Jennifer Crain is giving a Mommy ER DVD series to a LookWhatMomFound reader.

Visit Mommy ER sign up for the newsletter (bottom of each page) and tell me what section of which DVD you think you could get the most help from.

Ingrid and Isabel Bella Band

Yes, you look Beautiful! I’m talking to you pregnant mamas out there right now. I remember how it felt to get dressed each morning when I was pregnant. Not knowing what would fit, what wouldn’t fit and how I was going to make it fit. I have 2 sisters going through the same issues today with expanding preggie bellies and shrinking pocket books with a growing list of baby gear to buy and upcoming expenses to plan for.

Ingrid and Isabel is the company behind the Bella Band. No more safety pins, rubber bands, exposed bellies or sloppy clothing with the Bella Band. This must have wardrobe accessory is not only going to make your clothing look better it’s going to make you feel better. Being neat and put together and knowing we look good each day gives us a little boost of confidence. The Bella Band is specially constructed of ultra-soft knit with spandex and nylon to give a smooth finish without the worry of unsightly seams and hems when folded over. Made to withstand multiple washings and resist piling there is now doubt this can be worn often, this saves money on expensive maternity clothing, wear your fave jeans as long as you can get them up and us the Bella Band to keep them where they should be.

The Bella Band isn’t the only wardrobe necessity Ingrid and Isabel has perfected. The Everyday Cami is just that, the perfect cami to wear with everything. The thing I noticed about the Everyday Cami is the full coverage you receive not only over the belly but over the boobs, no spillage or excessive cleavage. Along with the two fabulous products above you are also going to find other essentials like the Everyday Pant, Belly Leggings, and the Ruched Tank.

Ingrid and Isabel knew that I was hunting for great times for my sisters and sent them some great pieces along with a great magnet they both love that says Yes, You Look Beautiful! This is Kim in the black Everyday Cami and Melanie wearing a black Bella Band with still too big maternity pants.
Every woman needs a little encouragement each day but pregnant mamas might need it a little more often. Stick this magnet on the fridge, work desk, vanity mirror or your car dashboard. Smile a little when you read it because you know it’s true.

Purchase your own Ingrid and Isabel essentials and find out for yourself why they will become your got to pieces to throughout your pregnancy and beyond.

Winner Chosen: American Kids Bedding

Secret’s Custom Creations said…
I would like the tea party or the olivia set.

June 23, 2009 10:49 PM

If you read my husband’s site (PB and Smelly’s Dad) you’d know that Shae recently went into her big girl bed. We were all excited to move furniture around and work on her staying in bed that we skipped a step…….BEDDING. Yup, mom forgot that the kid needed bedding like everyone else.
American Kids Bedding stepped in and hooked the little girl up. She’s got her own gorgeous floral quilt, sham, sheets and bed skirt. I picked a color palette that was similar to her crib bedding because I’m not a fan of baby pastels. Flowers for Hanna arrived and I quickly fell in love. Rich chocolate brown accents with modern vibrant orange and pink flowers and purple trim fit perfectly with Shae’s colorful personality. She was so excited when we first made her bed she now runs around the house yelling “Big Girl Bed” and gets mad if anyone lays in it. Her bed is lowered right now so the skirt has to wait but everything else fit perfectly. The quilt is a generous size so that we both can fit under it for naps but also soft enough that she can stay on top of it for warmer days. I’m extremely pleased with the quality and color of this gorgeous set from American Kids Bedding.

Heidi, a mother of 3 girls started American Kids Bedding out of passion to create a successful child oriented company as well as stay home to be the main care provider for her children.

“American Kids Bedding allows me to do both. The reason I chose kids bedding was because when looking for my own children there was such a poor selection in all the department stores. All you had to choose from was Sponge Bob, Hannah Montana and Barbie. So I felt it would be great to have a large selection of different styles. Our company is growing day by day and for me this is just the tip of the ice berg and I am very driven for success.”

Just one look at the trendy selections you’ll see why choosing American Kids Bedding is the better choice from discount retailers out there. With her attention to detail, Heidi is able to offer a unique variety for crib bedding, big kid bedding and teen bedding plus individual sheet sets and wall décor to complete a bedroom makeover.

For your next bedroom makeover shop American Kids Bedding before looking anywhere else. Feel extra good about that purchase too because for the month of June, $5 of every quilt set purchase is being donated to Breast Cancer Research through Wings of Hope. Use discount code MomFoundIt for a $9.99 off your purchase, this basically gives you free shipping for orders under $200.

American Kids Bedding has recently experienced the news that a close family member was diagnosed with breast cancer, news that each and everyone of us dreads. So during the month of June we will be donating $5.00 for each quilt set purchased to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Together we can make a difference, 1 dollar at a time. We thank you in advance for your kindness and support.

Win a child’s sheet set from American Kids Bedding. Visit American Kids Bedding and tell me what quilt set you’d love to have for your little one.

Tracey Singer debut album Sweets ‘n’ Treats

The term Super-Dad is given a new meaning after reading all about Tracey Singer. His debut album Sweets ‘n’ Treats, is being released July 7, 2009 but his story of getting to this stage in life is heartwarming.

“Once my first child was born I knew I wanted to be with her,” says Singer, “and frankly music has always won over any other pursuits.” He recalls registration day for the final year of his undergraduate degree when he excused himself in the middle of a meeting with his Psychology (his major at the time) advisor, with whom he was setting up his schedule, walked over to the music department table and switched his major. He knew that if he didn’t switch he would forever regret it. Music has always been a powerful influence. Children are a powerful influence too. After spending years writing choral music and performing jazz standards and oldies at clubs, corporate events and private parties, the influence of his kids brought about a musical career shift.

Tracey Singer is a work-at-home-dad of 4 under the age of 9. If that isn’t hard work enough he has taken this experience and turned it into inspiration for his hysterically happy new album, Sweets ‘n’ Treats. “I get a kick out of two things: helping kids see the humor and downright silliness in life at a tender age and most of all making them laugh” say Singer of the motivation behind the album. With songs like Mall Mom and Nana Nana Boo Boo, kids and adults are bound to laugh themselves silly. There is one “message” song for kids and it’s called Stinky Smoke. It is aimed at telling children smoking is an unhealthy, unsanitary and unwise habit.

Raised in California and Idaho, Tracey Singer has always has a bond with music. His first performance was as resident pianist for his family church, this was at the ripe old age of 11. His formal training began during high school and college where he earned a degree in Vocal Music from Gonzaga University. Moving forward as a member of many bands of different genres and even starring in his own one-man show and as a published composer and teacher and even a corporate stuffed shirt, Singer has never stepped away from his first love, music. It only made sense to make the change to children’s entertainer when he became a family man.

Sweets ‘n’ Treats will be available at www.traceysinger.com, www.cdbaby.com, iTunes and www.amazon.com on July 7th, 2009.

Winner Chosen…Miraclesuit, lose 10lbs in 10 seconds GIVEAWAY

Lisa, June 8, 2009 10:17 AM 2

I’m a follower and I tweeted.

It’s the same old story every year, summer is here and that means bathing suit season. You can stop screaming now because I have an AWESOME swimsuit to show you. The Miraclesuit swimsuit is a unique new swimsuit that contours, shapes, slims and firms the body. It’s called the Miraclesuit because it has three times the “holding power” of the average swimsuit and accomplishes this without the conventional girdle control linings. The magic is in the fabric, called Miratex, which has three times more Spandex than traditional swimsuits. Add that to the unique design, cutting and engineering of the swimsuit, women appear to lose 10 pounds when wearing the Miraclesuit which has sizes up to 18DD.

Sounds like a load of crap right? I kinda thought so too, that was until I tried one on for myself. I actually smiled when I saw myself in the mirror, I even went downstairs to show Rob who was in the kitchen. Its biggest promise of giving the illusion of losing 10lbs was right on the money. It sucked and tucked and hid the waves and rolls. Even better it was comfortable, no corset feeling at all. The support was great, I encourage you to follow the sizing instructions carefully. I was tempted to downsize as I’m slowly getting in better shape but I’m glad I didn’t, the girls wouldn’t have had the hold they needed. I wore the Sonatina yesterday to the beach and I was completely comfortable; nothing shifted or moved out of place. It was sexy but covered all the right places, letting me be a mom but still feeling like a woman.

To purchase your own Miraclesuit and check out specific sizing and styles visit Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Cyberswim.com and other fine retailers.

Miraclesuit is generously giving a LookWhatMomFound reader a swimsuit of their own. Pick your favorite Miraclesuit and size by visiting Cyberswim.com. Come tell me what you would love to win.
