Our Tiny Dancer- Wordful Wednesday

What an adorable little ballerina/tap dancer?

What you don’t see in these pictures is Shae having a complete meltdown as soon it was time to go into class. Once she realized that I WAS NOT going with her the waterworks started and she literally was clinging to the walls as I tried to get her to enter the dance room. It took about 15 minutes for her to calm down and get involved. At that moment she turned to me sitting in the corner on my smartphone and said, “You can go now mommy”. I sat up with my mouth wide open and and bolted before she changed her mind. The owner/teacher, Vicky, said she had never seen such a dramatic change in attitude. She’s used to seeing children take weeks to get over that kind of freak out! Shae did great overall and was involved and paid attention and is looking forward to next week.

Lady Shae Shae – Wordless Wednesday

This was taken this weekend at a friend’s house. The girls at the party dressed Shae up and she performed Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae. This song right now is by far her favorite song. She said she would only perform if everyone turned their head.  We didn’t and she still performed and did an awesome job.  Lady Shae Shae is too cute!

Sorry that the picture is a little blurry!

Happy 4th Birthday Shae

happy birthday shae

Last weekend we celebrated Shae’s 4th bday. It turned into a HUGE event with over the top decorations, goodie bags and even the cake. A special thanks to Birthday In A Box for supplying the décor and supplies to make this day extra special for Shae.

Shae chose a Tinkerbell theme and Sabreena and I went all out on decorating the house. Birthday in a Box provided the Happy Birthday banner, streamers, centerpiece, HUGE balloon that is still attached to her dining room chair and all the cutlery/plates/cups/tablecover. I purchased bright packages of tissue paper and made paper flowers and balls to complement the colors of her theme. The balloons were all over the house and there was a dyed coffee filter flower banner draped across the deck.

Characters from the big screen and cartoons can be found as well as classics like princess, monkey and trains.

Make your child’s next birthday extra special with some help from Birthday in a Box.

Look Who Got a Haircut- Wordless Wednesday

Shae’s hair hasn’t been this short since she was a 2 years old. She was tired of the tangles so we chopped it off. Next time it’s going a tad shorter.

Project 52 – Week 13

Welcome to my 13th installment of Project 52, my attempt to capture our lives in a couple pictures or videos once a week.

project 52, weekly photos

This week was good. I get in a good routine of eating better, I had less headaches, less sleepiness, less grumpiness.  My niece was gone most of the week so Shae and I spent the last few days running errands, having lunch and just doing stuff.  Last weekend was Rob’s b-day party; not really a party just a casual dinner of some family and friends. I got not a single picture the entire night.  I really have to train myself to put the camera in a more obvious place during things like this.  Below are just a few glimpses into our everyday.

one of our errands was shopping for all new craft supplies

That’s it for this week. Thanks for stopping by. Oh and if you’re doing a Project 52 post link up in a comment and I’ll come by and check it out.

Project 52- Week 12

Welcome to my 12th edition of Project 52, my attempt to capture our lives in a couple pictures once a week.

The week started a bit busy.  Shae and I went to Sesame Street Live with my best friend and her little girl; it was so much fun.  The rest of the week was normal and ended with Shaun’s Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet.

You say tomato….

Shae and I have been working on letter recognition and rhyming. I know some letter combinations are tough but here is Shae just flat out refusing to give it a try; oh and torture me also.

Despite Their Age!

I don’t care what my kids say they are close and love each other to death even thought they seem to argue, bicker and fight frequently.

This picture is from a few weeks ago but since that night Shaun and Shae ask to have a sleep over almost every night. They had one over the weekend and another one last night.  I have no idea why they want to sleep on the floor when they have perfectly comfortable twin beds but who am I to tell them what surface they should sleep on.   All I can assume is that they love each other and like spending time together.  Funny thing was last night Melinda asked if I remembered Sabreena and Shaun having sleep overs when Shaun was Shae’s age.  I do and it is funny Shaun and Shae are now having them.

Yes Sabreena gets tired of Shaun and Shae and Shaun drives Sabreena nuts and fights with Shae and Shae annoys both Sabreena and Shaun but at the end of the day I know they love each other and are there for each other.  When I see Sabreena playing and hugging Shaun and Shae it wants to make me cry because it shows me what kind of kids Melinda and I raised.  Loving ones who hopefully as they become adults and move through the world will still have a close bond that siblings should have no matter what.
