Purple Pig Tshirts for yoga or everyday

I don’t do yoga unless Wii yoga counts and I doubt it does. But it’s not a required that you know Cat Pose to enjoy comfy cotton yoga tees from Purple Pig Shirts.

Our yoga shirts are created based on our desire to share our commitment to health and wellness in a fun way. These shirts are not only for practicing Yoga, Pilates and Meditation but any wellness activity. Because they are so soft and the designs are so fun…we encourage everyone to wear our soft t-shirts anytime, anywhere.

My wellness activity is playing with kids all day long, which should count towards something. I chose to review the Ohm Flower, the design is pretty and black is always a good choice. I love that it’s very generous in length but wish the fit was a bit looser to accommodate my chest. They recommend up-sizing but just due to the fitted style and my size I’m always going to have that issue. The tee itself is soft and very stretchy and just a tad sheer but not obscene.

Since receiving my shirt they’ve added a couple of Mens choices and cute designs like Pink Lotus Burnout, with sheer longsleeve burnout arms and a beautifully handpainted Lotus Flower over a solid black tee. There is a blue option too that is equally lovely.

Stock up for the holidays, buy 3 tees and receive 20% off. Become a Fan of Purple Pig Shirts on Facebook or follow on Twitter, you never know when they might announce a fun giveaway or must-shop sale.

Flip Mino HD for you handheld recording needs

I was lucky enough to win a Flip Mino HD from BenSpark.com during his IZEAFest ticket contest. I was so excited. So far I’m very pleased with several features:

  • Size: with dimensions of 3.94″ x 1.97″ x 0.63″ and weighing only 3.3oz this slides easily into a pocket or purse.
  • Battery Life: 60 minutes may not sound long but it hasn’t died on me yet
  • Auto Shut Off: there have so many times now that I’ve turned it on waiting for one of the kids to repeat a goofy trick or funny saying only to be stuck WAITING, the flip turns off after a few minutes to save battery life.
  • PC Connection: uses a Flip up USB connector; NO more tangled cables
  • Power-On Time: it only takes a handful of seconds to be camera ready, this is important when you are mostly filming kids
I know there are a ton of technical points of interest that would intrigue most people but you won’t find that information here. I like the Flip Mino HD because it’s small, extremely easy to use and upload and the video quality is so much better than my phone. My one complaint is the plug in USB connector; while it’s easy to use I foresee it breaking due to the fact that it has to “hang” on the computer while charging or uploading videos. A flexible adapter would easily fix this little problem.

Another feature that Pure Digital Technologies offers is the ability to completely personalize your camera with design from their gallery or an image of your very own. It’s going to make gift giving even more special.

While the Flip Mino HD won’t replace our JVC Everio for Christmas morning or school plays this is our go to device for every day recordings.

Currently Amazon is running a sale on the Flip Mino HD, for the price of $169.99 plus it’s eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping. Check it out!

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 3 Hello Mummy

Who doesn’t love Scooby-Doo and the spooky mysteries that they face in every episode? I can remember every Saturday morning as a kid getting excited to get myself setup in front of the TV to watch Scooby-Doo. To this day as a grown man I still like to watch Scooby Doo when I catch it on TV. I guess Scooby-Doo doesn’t get old with age.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 3 Hello Mummy from Warner Home Video hit the stores on September 1st and features the following four episodes from the original series:

  1. The Backstage Rage – Shaggy and Scooby-Doo find a violin case filled with money, which disappears when Scooby-Doo is distracted by a puppet. A lead takes the Mystery Inc. gang to a local theater, where they uncover a counterfeiting scheme masterminded by a shadowy figure.
  2. Bedlam in the Big Top – The Mystery Inc. gang meets a strongman and a midget who are on the run from a circus that is allegedly haunted by a ghost clown. The gang investigates the circus grounds, and one-by-one, they each fall victim to the ghost clown’s powers of hypnotism.
  3. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts – On the road, the gang pulls up to an ancient castle that has been transported brick-by-brick from Transylvania. Upon entering it however, they find that it is haunted by three creatures: a vampire, a werewolf and a Frankenstein-like monster.
  4. Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too – Archeology professors at a local college show the gang the school’s latest acquisition: the mummy of Ankha, an ancient Egyptian ruler who placed a curse upon any who violate his tomb. The curse appears to be valid, as the gang finds their professors turned to stone and a mummy figure roaming the grounds looking for a particular Egyptian coin.

I was really excited when I received a copy of this DVD for analysis because now my kids as well as I can sit down and enjoy the spooky mysteries together. Scooby-Doo is a classic that I suggest everyone watch. It has humor, mystery and a talking dog, what else could you ask for. LOL.

Everyday Minerals Cosmetics-Closed

As a SAHM I don’t get many chances primp and pamper myself. What I do love and consider special time alone is when it’s time to apply make-up for date night or hanging out with friends. I made the switch a couple years ago to mineral makeup and I’m hooked. I love the natural feel and look I get from just using a handful of products.

The 2nd mineral company I went to was Everyday Minerals. I’ve stuck with them because I’ve never had a problem with itching and redness like I did with another brand. Everyday Minerals contacted me a couple weeks back and asked if I would be interested in review their products. I quickly responded that I was already a HUGE fan and actually had reviewed them on my own a while back. I received a great selection of goodies, some that I choose myself and some that were a surprise.

I decided to add the new products to what I already owned and do a quick before and after to show you how they transformed my face in about 5 minutes. I’ll let you what I’m wearing and in what order I applied them and with what bamboo brush I used.

After moisturizing and letting that dry I apply using the Foundation Brush, Abbott’s Perk Me Up Concealer under my eyes, around my nose and right at my upper lash line. This helps to even out the circles and slight redness and dullness on my skin. I used to use Lavender Color Corrector for under my eyes but Abbott’s Perk Me Up seems to be doing a great job and pulling double duty.

My next step is my base. With the Long Handled Kabuki I apply Medium Beige Neutral all over my face onto my neck and under my ears. I brush this powder in a circular motion haphazardly everywhere paying attention to my eyes and around my mouth. I’ve been known to do this step without a mirror and just brushing all over my face, there really is no margin of error. Cheek color is next. Using my new Angled Blush Brush I this time applied a tiny bit of Corner Office for a hint of color.

Eyes are my favorite part of my face because I love all the fun colors I can use. This particular night we were just going for a quick dinner so kept it toned down a bit but you can usually find me in purples, greens and even blues. Using the Eye Kabuki Brush I tapped Comfy over my lids then added a bit of Morocco with the Dome Blending Brush to the outer edges. I then used Everyday Eye Smudge Brush for a touch of Oasis to add a bit of shimmer under my brow.

Eyeliner goes on last. I’ve never used powder liner before this night so this was kinda an experiment too. I was sent Postcards Eyeliner which is described as a medium gray-green. I would say it was more of a dark gray with hints of metallic olive green. I used a very very stiff skinny tipped brush to apply just at the lash line. It went on easy and stayed put for the next couple hours. My only problem was I must have spilled a little on my vanity so then all the containers were smudged with dark eyeliner powder.

My last step was applying my lips. I normally don’t go for lots of color so I first applied Rose, Cardamom and Orange lip balm then swept on Sweet Berries lip gloss.

I’m done and doing all of this took me between 4-5 minutes. Loose powder application for all over the face might take some getting used to but I think it has greatly reduced my time spent applying cosmetics. The eyeliner application will take a few more tries to perfect but I think for my first time it went well.   I’ve had great success using Everyday Minerals, while I do add items from other brands Everyday Minerals is my go to especially for base, concealer and eyes.

At Everyday Minerals you’re able to try out some of their great colors for FREE. Choose one of their Try Me Free collections for free with the purchase of any order or for just $5 on their own. Everyday Minerals prices make it easy to try different trends and shades without breaking the bank.

Every month, Everyday Forward picks a national or international charity with a focus on women’s issues. This charity will benefit from the proceeds of a particular product. This month the product is B&B, a cheek color that gives a warm glow for any skin color. The charity this month is Kiva.org, an organization that helps finance entrepreneurs around the globe.

Dad’s Perspective: The products seem to last a long time and are priced really good compared to the other brand she used to use.

LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! readers are getting the chance to win 1 of 2 $35 gift certificates. Visit Everyday Minerals and tell me something you learned about the Everyday Minerals, Beauty Perks or Everyday Forward.

Our night at Disney On Ice Celebrations

This past weekend we attended Disney On Ice Celebrations thanks to Mom Central and Feld Entertainment.

Photobucket

About the Show: It’s one colossal party on ice, with all your favorite Disney friends! Enjoy a winter wonderland with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a Halloween haunt with the Disney Villains, a Very Merry Unbirthday Party, a Royal Ball with the Disney Princesses and more in a magical medley of holidays, celebrations and festivals from around the globe.
This was Shaun’s and Shae’s first Disney On Ice experience but I knew they would love the theatrics, music, characters and magic. Shae wore her Halloween costume, Minnie Mouse and was so excited to see that she was wearing the same dress as Minnie Mouse when she came onto the ice. The music and choreography was fantastic, I found myself singing along during the entire show. One character we were super excited to see was Jack Skelington from Nightmare Before Christmas, this is one of our favorite movies. He was slick and spooky and his routine seemed a bit trickier than other characters. Personally the Villains scene was very cool as they don’t usually get the attention that the princesses get.

My one little complaint about the show is when Toy Story was being featured Mr. Potato Head was nowhere to be found. I was shocked, I mean the troll doll had an appearance but no Mr. Potato Head. I was a bit sad.

If you have the chance to go to Disney on Ice, GO. It’s an experience you and the kids won’t soon forget. There are still plenty of shows going on around the US and even around the globe. Visit Disney On Ice for a complete list of showtimes and ticket availability. Check out the below discount details from Mom Central.

Use coupon code MOM in the “MC promotion” box to purchase four tickets for $44 Monday-Friday, and $4 off tickets for all weekend performances. The tickets can be purchased from http://www.ticketmaster.com/. Minimum purchase of 4 tickets required; additional tickets above 4 can be purchased at $11 each during the week and $4 off on weekends.

**Offer not valid on Rinkside or VIP seating. Cannot be combined with other offers. Service Charges, facility & handling fees will apply.

Revenge Is… Recycled Clothing Process

And the Winner is:

Revenge Is… wearing clothing made from not only organic materials but recycled plastic bottles (RPET). Yes I said plastic bottles! To make the RPET, recycled plastic bottles are melted down and then processed into a fine yarn which, in turn, becomes a soft and silky t-shirt. This process allows the tees to be washed and dried over and over and over without shrinking or fading. You get the luxury of wearing a comfy fashionable tee without the hazards of owning cotton.
Revenge is… more than an apparel and accessories company. Their mission is to bring awareness to the environmental and issues that we face daily by introducing products that help make a difference.

Global warming, energy dependence, war, economic turmoil, foreclosures and unemployment – these are some of the major crisis facing our world today. Developing alternative sources, practicing “reduce, reuse and recycle” in our everyday lives, and demanding more effective diplomatic and economic policies of our government and business institutions will help. The old saying goes “the best revenge is living well.” Our belief is that, by taking action today, we can all live well tomorrow.
Our individual actions may not change the world, but our collective actions will. Our message products make the statement that you care and you are part of the solution. Our newsletter will inform you about critical issues we face today. Our blog gives you the opportunity to voice your concerns and solutions about the many challenges we face today.
Sabreena received 2 tees from Revenge Is… The Peace tee send a message that we all want to live in a community that is safe and healthy for not just us but our children yet we are daily bombarded with issues of crime, violence and terrorism. Our Best Revenge against these issues is Peace! The Earth Day tee reminds us that we can collectively change the fate of our world with our positive and sustainable choices. All tees from Revenge Is… are made in the USA and are made using a mix of organic cotton, eco friendly printing inks of course recycled water bottles.  I do wish the tees were cut a little bigger.  The mediums are ok for Sabreena, a bit snug but she likes them that way. they just introduced some more colors, the purple has a  great heathered/faded look.
Become a part of the change; take part in your area’s pressing issues. Visit Revenge Is… blog to learn more about what is going in our government, world issues and our economy as well as pressing environmental issues. Volunteerism is one that that almost everyone can do for almost every cause out there. Help is always needed!

Dad’s Perspective: The idea of recycling water bottles into tshirts if a pretty cool idea.  Sabreena is all about going green and doing more for her community so this article is right up her alley!

Win fun and sustainable products from Revenge Is… right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! You’ll get to pick a tee of your choice plus snatch up a reusable tote, both made from recycled plastic water bottles. Please sign up for the Revenge Is… newsletter to get updates on how to make a difference, this is a mandatory entry.

Most people have heard of bamboo fibers for use in clothing, bedding and bath textiles. Bamboo is a not only a renewable resource it is naturally smooth, soft and non-irritating. This makes bamboo a desirable material for those with sensitive skin. This doesn’t mean bamboo isn’t perfect for everyone though. Its round fibers make it possible for the fabric to lie softly next to the skin instead of rubbing against it like other synthetic fibers. Its breathability and insulating properties also make bamboo the perfect year round material for garments.

The selection at DreamSacks® is vast; clothing for men, women, kids and babies plus lush bath towels, silky sheets and fun accessories. Win a Sophie Short Wrap right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit DreamSacks® and tell us another item you would love to try out.

Dad’s Perspective: I liked the look and feel of the jacket, it gave a simple outfit a little pizzazz while still looking comfortable.
