Juice Box Heroes – No Sugar Added CD Recap

The 80’s were a time when music was simple and easy and the artists are still remembered to this day. Just in case you forgot or are trying to block out the 80’s here are a few artists I remember vividly: George Michael, Rick Springfield, Twisted Sister and Cyndi Lauper. There is an awesome band called Juice Box Heroes that plays these 80’s artists with a kids twist.

Juice Box Heroes brothers Craig and Scott Coane both played in 80’s bands in college and after college they started their own 80’s band. After becoming dads Craig and Scott realized playing in bars until 2 a.m. and then having to wake up for that 5 a.m. bottle feeding wasn’t going to work and they realized something needed to change. Enter Juice Box Heroes.

Heralded as “song favorites for parents, fun new lyrics for kids”, Juice Box Heroes takes the very best songs from the past and parodies them for young kids. Their debut album “No Sugar Added” is now available at juiceboxeheroes.com.

When we received this CD for analyse Shaun and I were pretty excited because we love music and Shaun loves to listen to music every night at bedtime. What caught my eye was the catchy titles to old 80’s classics like “Puppy’s Fur” which is a parody of Rick Springfield’s Jessie’s Girl. No Sugar Added is filled with awesome songs that you and your kids will love listening to.

This CD is so good Shaun has listened to it every night at bed time since we received it and he is a pain when it comes to music so that is how I know it is good. Every night when I put Shaun to bed I ask him what CD he wants to listen to and he tells me “Dad, the same one I listen to every night, Juice Box Heroes”. This is my story and I’m stickin to it.

Why Are Kids A Pain At Bedtime?

A few weeks ago Shae started potty training and now for the most part is wearing big girl undies. We put a diaper on her at naptime and bedtime and if we are going to be in the car for long trips. I kid you not when I say Shae goes potty 20-30 times a day. Sometimes she pees alot sometimes just a tinkle.

Tonight at bed time Melinda put Shae on the potty and she peed alot. Melinda then put her bedtime diaper on her and got her all ready for bed. In a 20 minute span Shae yelled 3-4 times she needed to go potty. Two of the four times Melinda put her on the potty. I think Shae is now using the potty as a stall tactic to delay her going to bed. Not 100% on that but I have a strong feeling that is the case. LOL. She is so sneaky.

Anne Geddes Tiger Jacket Recap

Everyone knows those sweet photos of babies snuggled on top of pillows or smushed up in a flower.

Those photos are taken by famed photographer Anne Geddes. Anne was born in Queensland, Australia on a beef cattle farm with 4 sisters. For many many years before becoming the incredible talent we all now know she traveled, worked, loved and lived until she found that exact passion that made her feel complete, photography. But not just any photography, the kind of children’s portraiture that makes your heart melt and wish you could get inside the photo with her subjects.Today Anne Geddes’ name is known worldwide. Anne’s award-winning images have been published in 83 countries spanning North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Her books have sold more than 18 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 24 languages.

I received her book Pure as a Christmas present from Rob when I was pregnant with Shaun. Opening it for the first time took my breath away. The timing was perfect; the book was filled with images of not just sweet wrinkly babies but of gorgeous glowing pregnant women. The picture of me opening that gift I wasn’t so glowing or gorgeous but the book made my Christmas. I’m not a book collector but this is one I will never let go, that is until it’s time to give it to one of my daughters.

This book along with her other publications, calendars, stationery and best of all babies and children’s clothing and accessories are available at AnneGeddes.com or at the first Anne Geddes retail store in the Downtown Disney® District in Anaheim, California. Shoppers there are able to enjoy selections of Anne’s large, art-quality prints, touch the soft natural materials of her Pure baby clothing line or the classic Fairy Tale collection. Another benefit of being a shopper is the chance to see and meet Anne in person as she is known to stop by now and again from her home in Australia, enjoying the opportunity to chat with friends and fans and to sign her books.

We had the opportunity to experience Anne Geddes’ Tiger collection with a analysis of the Tiger Jacket. I chose the “boy” color to match with more things of Shae’s thing and I wasn’t disappointed with that decision. The jacket is warm and velvety soft. She looked at it and screamed out “For Me!” as soon as I pulled it out of the box. She wore it a few times already and it looks and feels great. This particular jacket is for cool weather but not heavy cold winter. The hood features the cutest little tiger ears too.

Anne Geddes wants you to indulge your little one in with their own Tiger Jacket. Win a jacket of your color and size choice right here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! Visit AnneGeddes.com and tell me something, anything you learned about her life or mission that you find interesting or another item that you just can’t live without.

The Children’s Place has all your kids needs

Shopping for kids clothes is one of my favorite things to do. I love seeking out bright colors, vivid patterns and cute ensembles that match my kid’s personalities. Since Sabreena was a baby The Children’s Place has been my number one place to shop for clothes, coats and jammies.

This year we bought Shaun the 3-in-1 jacket for the winter. It comes with a fleece inner jacket that easily zips out for warmer days or cooler days indoors at school. We’ve used the coat several times now in the snow and there has been absolutely no problem with Shaun staying warm and dry with it’s nylon outer shell. We didn’t pick up the matching hat but Children’s Place was so kind to send the Faux Trapper hat that I was eyeing, I call it the Fargo hat. Shaun wasn’t too crazy about the hat in the beginning but quickly realized that it kept not only his head warm but also his ears from turning to ice cubes.  As a matter of fact both Shaun’s and Shae’s winter coats were purchased from The Children’s Place.

Along with his new hat Shaun received a beautiful Faux-Sherpa Hoodie Cardigan and matching knit hat that was a perfect addition to Christmas Eve visiting. He’s a jeans and tshirt kinda boy but this luxe brown sweater added just a touch of classiness without forcing him to be uncomfortable.

Shae was treated to a ton of goodies courtesy of The Children’s Place. Shae literally squealed with excitement when I showed her the sweater/hat/mittens combo that she received. She wanted to try everything on immediately so on top of her jammies went the new items still with tags attached.

This winter The Children’s Place has introduced not just cute apparel but also great accessories and toys to fit into any kid’s life. From watches to stuffed animals to fun board books the Children’s Place is a great place for shopping for kids of all ages. The holidays may be over but The Children’s Place is always a great place to shop for all your kids needs.

See Kai Run "Share a Pair" events donates 2,400 paris of shoes

During this season of giving, See Kai Run, popular manufacturer of the perfect first shoe for new walkers, is making sure that for every pair of shoes sold during November at its retail Web site (http://www.seekairun.com/), a pair also goes to a child in need. As a result of the matching event which ended November 30, 2009, See Kai Run will donate nearly 2,500 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls before the year’s end.

Soles4Souls is an international charity dedicated to providing footwear to disadvantaged people around the world. Their global efforts primarily target orphanages throughout Central and South America, Europe and Africa. According to Soles4Souls, over 300 million children world-wide have never had one pair of shoes. With this donation, See Kai Run will have shared a total of over 36,000 pairs of shoes to children who need them the most. “Share A Pair” is part of See Kai Run’s overall charitable giving campaign, which focuses on international, national, and local charities for children. See Kai Run would like to thank its customers for making donations such as these possible.

About See Kai Run
See Kai Run and Smaller promote healthy development of babies’ and children’s feet with their ultra-flexible soles, soft leather and wide toe box. Our footwear meets the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality and has been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance. Retail price starts at $32.

See Kai Run is a family-owned and operated business located outside of Seattle, Washington. The idea was born when founder Cause Haun was on a quest for the perfect first pair of shoes for her son, Kai. Unable to find shoes in fun styles that still promoted the healthy development of little feet, Cause and her husband created their own line of shoes that satisfied all these needs. See Kai Run celebrates its fifth anniversary this year and proudly looks back at their expansion from a few boutiques, mostly in the Seattle area, to stores all around the country and worldwide. Please visit www.seekairun.com for additional information.

About Soles4Souls
Soles4Souls facilitates the donation of shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. Everyone from shoe companies to retailers and individuals can donate footwear (both new and used). The Soles4Souls team has used the gift of shoes in the relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. More than 900,000 pairs were collected for these disasters. Introducing Brainy Baby Holiday Gift Sets

Start your child’s learning at the beginning. Use tools that are dedicated to motivate and stimulate a child’s imagination, fondness for music and the positive behaviours to set them apart from the rest. Brainy Baby produces the highest-quality, university tested products for children. The mission of The Brainy Baby Company is about helping children develop a love of learning for a lifetime®.

This holiday season, Brainy Baby is making it easy and affordable to give the gift of learning to all of the important children in one’s life. For a limited time only, Brainy Baby is offering three different holiday gift boxes at a specially discounted price that are sure to please inquisitive toddlers and young kids on anyone’s list.
The Happy Holidays Gift Box, Seasons Greetings Gift Box and Deluxe Seasons Greetings Gift Box all include a variety of Brainy Baby’s award-winning DVD’s, CD’s, books and flashcards. If that’s not enough, each set is priced significantly below its retail value, saving shoppers a ton of holiday cash. Please note that quantities are limited for this holiday season and the packaging may vary from what it seen in the photos.

Our children have used Brainy Baby DVDs over the years and I believe they helped Shaun at the age of 2 to recognize a huge variety of animals for his daycare’s show and tell time. Shae has also had great success with alphabet, numbers, colors and shape recognition at a young age. The videos along with interactive flashcards, books and music helped foster a constant learning environment without losing the play factor.

With the addition of 2 new babies in the family I hope they will also love to learn as my children have. The DVDs we received, Jingle Bells and ABC’s will hopefully get the same loving reception that our Brainy Baby products did over the years.

Klutz for Holiday Shopping plus Discount

Do you have kids on your shopping list that are just simply hard to buy for? I do! My own son! Shaun is mostly into video games and outdoor sports but present to him a unique new activity and he’s a new kid.

The how-to books from Klutz come packaged with the tools of their trade (from juggling cubes to face paints to yo-yos), and are designed for doing, not just reading. “We think people learn best through their hands, nose, feet, mouth and ears, then their eyes. So we design multi-sensory books,” John Cassidy, one of 3 founders, says. Klutz is a fixture on U.S. book and toy bestseller lists, and is available in 24 countries around the world.

Invasion of the Bristlebots
This is a fun game of mini toothbrush head robots that zoom and spin around like “caffeinated cockroaches”. The book is filled with robot activities, games and races to keep them bouncing off walls and skittering around the room. Customize your bristlebot with wiggly eyes, antennae and legs that come along in the package.

Paper Fashions Fancy
As a child I remember drawing and cutting out doll fashions out of paper and decorating with crayons and colored pencils. Klutz has made a glamorous version of this old-time craft. In the Klutz Paper Fashions Fancy, young designers get to turn
colorful paper, ribbons, beads, sequins, and jewels into glamorous fashions and accessories.

Use the Gift Center as a tool to help find the perfect present for anyone on your list. Simplify your tasks this season a little more by choosing the “add gift packaging” option upon check-out for select items. Till December save some cash on your purchases by using code HOLIDAY25 for 25% off

V-Motion™ Active Learning System hits the mark with Shae

Holiday shopping is easy when you know and love a brand for not just the quality but the power it can have on your children. VTech is one of our go to brands for outstanding products that are fun but also educational and inspiring.
Since Sabreena was little I’ve turned to VTech to aid in the children’s learning process. I remember cuddling inbed with her and her VTech alphabet school bus watching her with letter and number recognition, colors and shapes. Shaun has been using his Bugsby Reading System since the beginning of school with great success.

The V-Motion™ Active Learning System is the newest addition to this household. Shae is always watching her brother and sister play video games and gets frustrated when she get be involved. She often grabs a remote and pretends to play along. The V-Motion™ Active Learning System works similarly to the Nintendo Wii video game platform. It gets her up and moving, playing tennis, driving and hopping around like a goof. While she doesn’t always get the right “answer” she has a fun time working towards that goal. For Christmas we are adding the Little Einsteins and Dora the Explorer to expand on her fun.

VTech is the leader in age-appropriate learning toys and the creator of the Electronic Learning Product category. Since 1976, VTech has been developing high-quality, innovative, educational products and learning toys that enrich children’s development. From infant to toddler to grade school, kids learn through fun, smart and active play.

Give the gift of learning disguised as fun with the V-Motion™ Active Learning System, Bugsby Reading System or any other learning product from VTech.
