KidsCraft Playhouses Recapitulation

Kids love to play in boxes but who has boxes big enough just laying around the house. It is nice if you are in the market for a new refrigerator or washer and dryer because the kids then hit the jackpot. If you aren’t in the market for new appliances Kidscraft Playhouses are the answer with their Creation Cottage and Shuttle Imagination.

Two dads and a grandfather from Atlanta got a first hand look at how the cardboard box captures a child’s way of thinking. While packing up their financial services business, moving from one office to another, their kids tagged along. Although the fathers brought along playthings like coloring books and crayons for the 3 to 7 year olds, it was the empty boxes that captivated the youngsters. The dads saw the sparks of a business and KidsCraft Playhouses was born.

Made of 100% recycled material and made in the USA, two sturdy designs are available online and at select specialty retailers. The Shuttle Imagination, a large spaceship and the Creation Cottage, a playhouse, are ingeniously designed so there’s no need for cutting, taping or measuring. The flaps and slots are specifically designed and pre-cut for easy assembly and can withstand hours of play.

The outside of these cardboard houses are blank so that kids can use their imagination and color them how they see fit. KidsCraft will mail a free 8-pack of crayons to kids when they redeem their sales receipt online at www.kidscraftusa.com. These aren’t your ordinary crayons – they’re 100 % recycled from unwanted crayons.

When we got our Creation Cottage for analyse Shaun and Shae were so excited they must have asked a million times when we were going to set it up. Set up was a breeze and took no longer then thirty minutes from box to full blow house with a door, windows and a chimney. Shaun and Shae love to take blankets, pillows and stuffed animals and just sit inside of the cottage and play. The one thing to beware of is its size as it is pretty large (42”L x 39”W x 54”H) and will take up a good amount of space. Otherwise no complaints at all. Sabreena customized our cottage with an awesome paint job and it looks like a real cottage.
Here are some further details on the two houses offered:
The Creation Cottage • $59.95
Indoors or out, this pint size cottage is a perfect playroom for solo play or for the neighborhood gang. Made from 100% recycled materials, the unique design allows for a sturdy drawing surface for tykes. The Creation Cottage comes with a promotional offer for free recycled crayons that are made in the U.S. The Creation Cottage measures 42”L x 39”W x 54”H.

Shuttle Imagination • $69.95
For out-of-this-world imagination, the space shuttle can take kids on a new adventure every day! Made of 100% recycled materials, the unique design allows for a sturdy drawing surface. Pee vs Play

I love how kids chose play over pee 99 out of 100 times. Let me explain. Shae one day last week was playing in the basement probably with her kitchen, lemonade stand or cookies and during that time she peed in her underwear. Shae will be three in August and has been fully potty trained for about 1-2 months now.

What is weird about this situation is if we have to take a long car ride we will put a pull up on her and she will tell us she has to pee sometime during the car ride but refuses to pee in her diaper. So why would she pee in her pants while playing in the basement at home with the bathroom being only five feet away? This is what is most puzzling to me.

My only conclusion is playing wins over peeing 99% of the time. Shae must be so into what she is playing with at that moments in time she can’t tear herself away from her toys to take a bathroom break.  I can’t figure out any other reason for this.

Have any ideas let me know as I would love to hear your thoughts.

Where have all the spoons gone?

Breakfast time on a school day is a hectic. 3 kids trying to eat all the food within reach require lots of cups, bowls, napkins and SPOONS. This 1 meal leaves 10 dirty spoons. How is this possible you ask? It’s because my kids refuse to reuse a spoon for 2 different food types. There has to be a spoon for yogurt, then a separate one for fruit then a whole new one for cereal. Then I need one for my coffee or tea then sometimes my yogurt requires a new spoon because I don’t eat while getting my making my morning beverage.

The dishwasher usually gets emptied in the morning and by 8:30 am the teaspoon slot is ½ empty. Thank goodness we have 2 sets of silverware, they don’t match but that’s a different story for a different day

Feeding Penny Pig, a lesson for saving money

I like to think I’m raising a bunch of book lovers. I’m also hoping I’m raising them to make smart choices. For the most part Shaun knows money is earned. He doesn’t fully grasp the value of things but he knows his money gets saved rather than spent. Feeding Penny Pig is a new book we’ve been introduced to that helps children learn some basics about money, earning allowance, doing chores and responsibility.

Penny Pig is a very special piggy bank that is given to a young girl, Laney by her grandmother. The piggy bank was a gift to not only teach a lesson about saving money but also taking care of her new friend. Feeding Penny Pig offers a unique view into a child’s piggy bank saving while making it logical but still child-friendly.

Keep Cozy With St. Eve Suggestion

Chillin’ on the sofa or in her little recliner watching Coraline is Shae’s favorite new thing. Another new thing is “warm me up mommy”. I rub her arms she laughs then goes along her way just to come back a couple minutes later. Her Cozy has made these little warming trips a thing of the past. I’ve even found Sabreena using the Cozy while she’s on the computer or doing homework. I admit I’ve worn it a couple times too.

The St. Eve Kid’s Cozy is a fleece blanket with sleeves similar to those seen on TV but this is a vibrant pink and small enough for a little one but big enough to grow into. The Cozy is super soft and works great for watching movies, lounging on the sofa, playing video games, doing homework and even playing with toys. Unfortunately the one we have is pink because Shaun always wants to use it, he’s a cuddler.

St. Eve Kids offers delightfully sweet and totally trendy under garments and pajama sets for boys and girls. The boys’ under garment line features briefs, boxers, and undershirts, while the girls’ collection includes panties, bralets, and camisoles
St. Eve Kids is known for fun quality kids gear and the sweet characters that often adorn their underwear, sleepwear and robes can be found at DramaU.com. Drama.com is a whole new world of playmates and the familiar characters; Molly, Tommy, Tammy, Frankie, Johnny, Tweet, Shirley, Lulu, Peggy, Marky and can make the perfect pals for kids bursting with personality and attitude. Shaun has been loving his Travel Bud, a pillow that unzips to release a soft fleece blanket. Now he just carries that to the basement for movie night and he’s set for comfy cuddling. St. Eve Kids is available at Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bealls, Kohl’s, Sears, and JC Penney.

Tell UDrama what a Saintly Mom you are and win a year’s worth of St. Eve Kid’s sleepwear.  For now just enter here to win a pink Cozy just like Shae’s. Tell me which DramaU character steals your heart.

London Bridge Children Wall Art Recap

My children are the most important things in my live. Because of this I’m always finding ways to celebrate that love for them. London Bridge Children is an online children’s boutique that sells unique baby bedding, accessories and beautiful personalized artwork.
Please read about London Bridge Children and its beginning and inspiration.
Welcome to London Bridge Children! I’m Lori, the artist and owner. I create unique and fun personalized art for children. My own 4 kids, ages 1 to 11 are the inspiration for my art.
I originally started London Bridge Children to sell my acrylic paintings and prints. However, I’ve met other artists and companies that offer great items I think my customers will also like….so I’ve added other items to my store. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the products I offer!

I was given the opportunity to analyse Lori’s children’s wall art for myself. It took me a little while to choose what print I wanted, something to represent 1 child or just the girls, but I finally settled on something that showed me all of them. I chose this style picture with the 3 of them sitting on a swing. It’s hanging in my bedroom, in between baby pictures of the kids. It’s the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see when I go to sleep. It’s precious to me because it really captures them. I have Shae sitting in between Shaun and Sabreena because in real life that’s where she always wants to be; right next to her brother and sister.

Personalized products like this always catch my eye and take hold of my heart. No matter how old they get or bratty they can be my kids are my kids forever and I love them with all my heart.

Lori with London Bridge Children wants to offer one of our readers a 11X14 personalized print to giveaway. Visit London Bridge Children’s artwork and tell which design you would choose.
