It’s Birthday Time AGAIN!

I watch her every day and wonder how something so magnificent came from me. She’s smart, witty and caring. She loves her family and friends with her entire heart. She looks at the world with hopes that it can be better and goals to make it that way. She does her best each day to be an influence on her brother and sister no matter how annoying they can be.
She’s my big baby and I am so proud of everything she has done. Happy Birthday to Sabreena.

We Partied Hard – Toddler Style

Shae’s birthday was this past Friday the 13th but today was the day we ate and partied hardy. We had friends, family and even Greg and his family from Telling Dad and Cara and her beautiful daughter from Land of Bean come by also.
The weather said 30% chance of rain which isn’t a lot but of course it rained from 1pm (time the party started) until who knows when but it all turned out awesome anyway. I had to put an umbrella over my grill so I could cook the burgers, dogs and chicken which turned out awesome. We had a TON of food and we had a cake and ice cream for dessert. She got some really nice gifts but the one that she really clung to today was her pillow pet (thank you Stacy, she loves it).
Rain or no rain we had a great day with family and friends and I think Shae had a great day and a great 3rd birthday party.

Happy Birthday To My Little Girl!

Today is Friday the 13th (creepy) and it is also Shae’s 3rd birthday. I remember living in MD and driving Melinda to the hospital only to be told she wasn’t ready so we went home and waited. We went to the beach a few days later and Melinda walked determined to have Shae and she did two days after the walk and one week after our initial doctors’ visit.

I remember how small she was and how cute (she still is cute but not small, LOL). I remember holding Shae for the very first time and realizing how precious and fragile she was and how I need to protect her. I remember how excited Shaun and Sabreena were to meet their new baby sister and to hold her and love her. Three years have passed already. We have gone through crawling, walking, eating solid foods, potty training and learning to talk. WOW, time flies when you are having fun. She has changed so much in three years, I remember when all she wanted to watch was Elmo now it’s Scooby Doo (my favorite cartoon). She is a little clown and provides us all with non stop entertainment. Shae is my world as well and Shaun, Sabreena and Melinda.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAE! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday – Happy Birthday To My Big Boy

Today (March 31st) is Shaun’s birthday and his is 7 years old. Holy Smokes where did the last seven years go? He has grown up so much and we are so pround of him. He is a awesome kids and great son.

Shaun : Me, Mommy, Shae and Sabreena love you very much and hope you have a great birthday!

Shaun and His New Bike

Shaun’s birthday is on the 31st of this month and Melinda and I decided that he needs a new bike this year. We bought his old bike at Toys R Us two years ago and Shaun destroyed the bike. The back tire is bald, hand brakes are busted and it is scratched to hell. Needless to say this was the bike that Shaun learned to ride with no training wheels so I figured it was going to get destroyed.
This past Friday Melinda, Shaun, Shae and I went over to Performance Bikes which is the bike shop where I bought my road bike about two years ago to take a look at bikes for Shaun. The main reason we went to the bike shop was to see what size bike he should be riding. He has been riding a 16” and I figured the next size bike for him would be a 20” but he is a giant like me so I figured we better take him just to be sure. We found a nice GT BMX bike and Shaun took it for a test ride and of course loved it. The bike I was looking at was $200 and since I am a huge cyclist I felt I needed to get Shaun the best BMX bike they had. I think that is the cyclist in me and not the money conscious dad that I should be. So after Shaun got back from his test ride he told us he loved it but his first comment was “Does this bike have a kick stand because I really want a bike with a kick stand”. Right then and their I realized he could give a crap how nice or expensive the bike was as long as it has a kick stand. Have you ever hear of a child basing the kind of bike they want on such a silly thing? LOL.

We got him a Schwinn BMX bike from Target of half the price and it is just as nice. Watch the video for Shaun’s reaction. It told me and Melinda we were the best because the bike had a kickstand. LOL. He cracks me up.

Guess What I Got….

Two balloons and a flute!

Let me explain.  Shae was saying all week that she wanted to get me a flute for my birthday. No idea why because I don’t play the flute and never have.

So Melinda took Shae to the dollar store in search of a flute, at first they couldn’t find one and when Melinda said outloud “Oh well Shae, they don’t have any flutes” an employee whipped around with one in her hand and a smile on her face.  Shae was thrilled and picked out a orange one.  As they were in line Shae mentioned balloons, Melinda agreed and told Shae to pick them out.  Do you see what she picked?

I got the New Years and Valentine’s Day leftovers, a black star and a red heart.

These are just the gifts from Shae, my bday card from the kids said “To the birthday boy” and had a dinosaur on it and my gift was a pencil cup decoupage with pics of the family. Oh and I got a box of Crunch and Munch from Melinda, because she knows I prefer that to Fiddle Faddle.

Today was a great birthday.

Saturday my mother-in-law and friends Tim and Cat are coming down for dinner to celebrate so I guess it is my birthday weekend.  WOOT!

It’s the Man’s Birthday!! !

Happy Birthday Rob!  The kids and I love you very much and can’t wait till Friday each week.  You are a great dad, great husband and an awesome friend.  We are here to support you and the decisions that need to be made to be a happier stronger family.

Boys Update!

Last week I wrote a post about how Sabreena was having her first boy/girl birthday party and how I was freaking out about it. If you missed it you can read it HERE. The party was this past Saturday. Sabreena had 4 boys over from 4pm-8pm and 3 girls who slept over. The party went better than I thought but man are 14 year old boys immature and have weird hair (story for another time). LOL. Heck I guess 35 year old men like me are immature. LOL.  Anywho, the party went well and I didn’t have to threaten any boys.

I guess this is the first of many boy/girl parties that Sabreena will have/attend. I know Melinda and I raised Sabreena to make smart educated decision so we will be just fine.

Family Day – Time To Relax And Catch Up

Sabreena’s birthday was on the 4th but since that was on a weekday today we had family over for food and cupcakes.  It was a nice turn out today. My mom, dad and three brothers came.  Melinda’s parents, two sisters, brother in law and two nieces came also.  It was really nice just hanging out and talking.  We do not get together as much as we probably should.

The real fun will be this Saturday coming up because that is the day when her firends come over for a party then the girls are going to sleep over.  This will be Sabreena’s first boy/girl party. Yup I said it “BOYS” but let me tell you I am not totally happy about it.  This is my little girl we are talking about.  I am stressed just writing this post. I need to stop now!

Happy Birthday Sabreena!

Today is a BIG day for Sabreena, she’s 14 years old.  The years have flown by so fast, she has grown up to be such an extraordinary young lady. For those that know us in real life or follow our family here at LookWhatMomFound…and Dad too! you all should know all the fantastic accomplishments Sabreena has already achieved. She’s going to do good things with her life and I’m proud to say she’s mine.

Here is a short slideshow of her growing through the years!

My beautiful daughter
You cannot know
How much my heart breaks
As I watch you grow

In time you’ll become
Independent and free
Always my daughter
And special to me

As you grow older
You will see
Through the eyes of a mother
Reflections of me

Past, present and future
All intertwined
My mother, your mother
All daughters you’ll find

Our reflections, not vanity
Mirrored lives we share
Always a daughter
Your mother, who cares.
